Cody dashed out to chase the photographer. Thea was so scared as she shouted behind Cody’s back, “Cody! Come back! It’s dangerous!”
But Cody didn’t come back. Thea could only follow. The two people disappeared at the turn of a dark alley.
The place looked dim and dangerous. Thea was so worried but she didn’t get in.
There were multiple turns and twists in there. If Cody got injured, he would never be able to come out safely.
Thea’s long dress kept catching her steps when she tried to run.
She didn’t have a choice but to call Zara, asking her to come out soon.
However, right after she hung up the phone, Cody just emerged from the shadow of the alley, holding a broken camera in his hand.
Thea’s eyes were wild as she ran forth, grabbing his muscular forearms, “Are… Are you okay? I… I’m so worried. You scared the crap out of me. Don’t you ever leave me alone like that anymore!”
Cody’s eyes lit up. “What did you just say?”
Thea blinked, “What? I said I was scared.”
“No… The last sentence…”
Thea was confused as she tried to remember what she had just said, “Don’t you ever leave me alone like that.?”
Jeez… That didn’t sound right. Thea blushed.
“I… I didn’t mean…”
However, before she could explain anything, Cody suddenly pinned her against the wall.
Her heart was pounding in her chest when his cold lips pressed against hers.
His kiss was passionate and demanding, bringing her whole body to shudder. Thea felt dizzy as she took in Cody’s scent. He smelt spicy and minty.
Thea was embarrassed that her knees felt weak during the kiss, but Cody held her up and made sure she wouldn’t fall the whole time.
This was so different.
Thea had never felt this way before.
Her ears were ringing, and she couldn’t think.
The same thing happened to Zara when she rushed to the dark alley, whose location Thea shared with her on the phone.
Her mouth fell open when she saw her boss and her artist sharing that passionate kiss in the dark alley.
She whipped around and ran in the opposite direction instantly.
Thea saw a flash of a figure in the corner of her eye, so she pushed Cody away gently, “Stop… Cody… Please.”
Cody pulled away, beautiful eyes fixed on Thea’s face, a faint smirk on his lips, “Sorry, I just suddenly snapped. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
Thea dropped her gaze, not daring to face him as her face flashed a tomato red.
“But you said that I shouldn’t leave you alone. So…” Cody dipped his head as he fixed his gaze on Thea’s shy one, “It’s also a part of your fault.”
“It’s not funny,” Thea clenched her teeth as her cheeks became redder.
“Did you mean that, Thea?” Cody asked seriously, “About what you just said. I know I should give you space and time, but my patience is running out. I want to know how you’re feeling about me. It’s killing me. So, would you please be my girlfriend?”
Was he really asking this?
Was Cody Bradley, the only son of the prestigious Bradley house, the successful young CEO of the company he established, her boss, asking her to be his girlfriend?
Thea couldn’t believe her own ears. She didn’t even dare to lift her gaze and look at this man in his eyes.
Cody was not rushing.
He just waited for an answer quietly. Yet he was still extremely nervous on the inside.
“Yeah…” Thea cleared her throat, “I guess…. I just… probably need some time to get used to that.”
A big smile broke Cody’s face, “It’s okay. You can have as much time as you want. It really isn’t an issue as long as you love me. Do you love me, Thea?”
For the first time, Thea looked up and stared bravely into his eyes, “Yes, Cody Bradley, I love you.”
Cody smiled and leaned forward again.
The second kiss was even more breathtaking than the first one. So when Cody finally pulled away, Thea’s brain wasn’t even functioning.
“You’re blushing like a cute tomato, Thea,” Cody teased, “I feel privileged to be the only one seeing this. So don’t be like this in front of another man. Or I will be really jealous.”
“Anything you say, boss,” Thea whispered.
When they finally went back to the site, Thea hurried to the scene to finish her shooting.
Zara could only pretend that she had never been there. She didn’t want Thea and Cody to know that she was there when they were sharing that kiss in the dark alley.
But Thea was actually in love with their boss? This was a great piece of news. It could be a bomb if one of those paparazzi caught that on camera.
It would probably change the whole direction of Thea’s career.
Feeling worried and awed, Zara could only call her boss to test out his attitude.
She had to take all sorts of precautions.
Cody took Thea back to her hotel after the shooting was over. Taking a look at the incoming call, Cody just decided to ignore it without giving it a second thought.
Thea noticed that, and she instantly said, “I really think you should probably pick it up. Zara doesn’t call for anything. She probably has something important to discuss with you.”
Cody smiled reassuringly, “Don’t be silly. Nothing is more important than you. Besides, I already knew that she probably just wanted to talk about you and me. You don’t need to worry about anything, Thea. I can take care of it.”
“Oh…” Thea blushed again, “Okay. Just do whatever you see fit. You’re the boss, after all… Then… Goodbye?”
“Goodbye,” Cody leaned forward and left a gentle kiss on Thea’s forehead, “See you tomorrow, gorgeous.”
Thea threw herself in her bed the moment she shut the show behind her back.
She still couldn’t stop thinking about the kisses when she was in bed, tossing and turning all night as those kisses came back to haunt her mind.
