After Cody had returned, Thea walked to him.
“Cody? How are things going?”
Cody offered some words of reassurance to her by saying, “We’ve got the person who started this.”
After pouring him a cup of coffee, Thea asked, “Is it John?”
Cody gave a curt nod and said, “Not at all.”
As Granny looked up, she was taken aback and asked, “Is it not him? Then who could it be?”
“Yolanda Gordon, who is also his stepdaughter. The cops were able to locate the record of the transaction. The evidence seems to be quite convincing.”
“Holly?” Grace was taken aback and asked, “Does Holly despise me this much?”
A chilly smile appeared on Granny’s face as she asked, “You don’t recall how her mother treated you, do you? That other woman is completely envious of you. It had to have been her idea. Holly simply carried out the instructions she had given her.”
Cody acknowledged with a nod that “There is the possibility.”
Thea, on the other hand, had a different hypothesis. It is likely that Yolanda did this only for the purpose of teaching her a lesson.
They were both working in the same industry, and Yolanda had a strangely competitive attitude toward her throughout the entire time. It’s likely that all she wanted to do was cause her some inconvenience.
However, the issue was that neither of them had ever achieved significant financial success, despite the fact that they had both worked in the entertainment industry.
It was unlikely for Yolanda to give away every dime she made to ruin her. Thea hardly believes that Yolanda would make such an extreme effort just to defeat her.
Yolanda was not a dummy in any way. On the contrary, she must have given some consideration to the results of her action.
Cody turned to look at her, knowing that she must be thinking something else. So he held her hand gently, “The evidence is solid, Thea. We have to believe it.”
Thea sighed and nodded.
Cody was right. The evidence was there, plain and simple. She had been tired enough. She needed to stop bothering herself with all her wild guesses.
It wouldn’t do her any good to her after all.

The next day, Kaine was invited to the police station to cooperate with the investigation as well. At first, he was not very happy with being summoned, “What does this mean? Why do you guys want to ask?”
The officer said, “Yolanda Gordon is a suspect in a kidnap case. She’d been with you when the kidnapping happened. We hope you can cooperate with us.”
“What?!” Kaine jumped up from his seat.
Do they already know his relationship with Yolanda? Then his career would be doomed after being caught sleeping with an actress.
It must be that woman’s fault. She just couldn’t keep her big mouth shut.
“Tell us what you know about all this.” The officer was quite stern.
Kaine is extremely spooked right now. They had known everything. There was no need to hide.
He could only tell the truth, “I knew Yolanda through a friend. After that, we became lovers.”
“Lovers?” The officer sniffed, “She’s younger than your daughter.”
Kaine dropped his gaze shamefully. “Well. We’ve spent a couple of days out of town. I didn’t see her trying to kidnap anyone.”
The officer didn’t want to waste his time with him, “Did she ever mention Thea to you before?”
Kaine nodded, “Yes, she did. She said she knew Thea Todd quite well.”
“And?” The officer pressed on.
Kaine looked a bit hesitant, “No-nothing else. That’s what she told me.”
“Mr. Kaine, this case is quite serious. If you don’t tell us the truth, you’re basically covering a kidnapper. And that is also breaking the law,” The officer warned solemnly.
Kaine let out a long sigh, knowing he had no choice except to tell the truth, “She said… if I like Thea Todd… she could get her for me. But I didn’t ask her to do that. I saw Thea Todd with the Bradley family that day. I was scared. I even slapped Yolanda across her face for offering that. I didn’t do anything to Thea. Why are you guys calling me here exactly?”
Outside the interrogation room, Cody’s hand clenched into a tight fist.
That Yolanda dared to offer that to Kaine? Drew had the heart to burst into the room and punch the fat man in his face.

Meanwhile, in another interrogation room, Yolanda looked haggard after spending a whole day in the room.
When she saw the police officer, she stood up eagerly, “I will tell you everything. Could you guys just let me out?”
The officer was quite surprised. He nodded, “Do you promise that you’re gonna tell us the truth?”
Yolanda swallowed, “I promise. Actually … It’s all my stepfather’s fault. He said Thea was doing great and earning loads of money. He wanted to take her money, so… he asked me to kidnap her Mom.”
And that was the stupid excuse she took so long to come up with?
The officer exchanged a look with his assistant.
“And?” He kept asking.
“And… he said if I kidnapped Grace, she would learn a lesson. So… So I just sent someone else to do it. I really didn’t know that John would try to kill her. I’m innocent. This is all John’s fault.” Yolanda explained. She didn’t want to spend the rest of her life in jail.
Her life was great, and she was a movie star. She would not let anyone ruin her life.
The only option she had right now was to blame everything on her stepfather.
She didn’t know if the police were gonna believe her, but she needed to try.
The officer smiled coldly, “But your stepfather said he never did it. We also investigated his account and record. He’s clean. On the contrary, you’re the suspicious one.”
Yolanda was gonna have a meltdown. She felt dizzy, and she couldn’t believe that she was the only suspect right now, “No! He’s the one who did it! He’s lying to you!”
