Freddy suddenly felt so bad for May. May was Yolanda’s assistant, yet the girl was a great person. She was quite kind and nice all the time. She really didn’t deserve this treatment.

Yolanda was taken to the interrogation room. She dipped her chin, so other people wouldn’t see her face. She only started to talk when the officer asked her to sit down,” Why did you guys take me here?”
After briefly questioning her identity, the officer asked, “Do you know Grace Todd?”
Yolanda was quite nervous, but she pretended to be calm, “That woman’s my Dad’s ex-wife. I hardly know her. We don’t even talk that much. What happened to her?”
The officer marked her reaction before asking again, “Your Dad has never left Grace alone. There are conflicts between them. Are you aware of this fact?”
Yolanda nodded, sighing, “I know. My Dad has never really been on good terms with her.”
“Your stepfather went to Grace’s bakery, threatening to smash her place. Are you aware of that?” The officer asked again.
Yolanda said, “I don’t know anything about that. I’ve been away for days. I just came back to the city today. Why are you asking me so many questions? What exactly happened?”
“Grace was kidnapped. We have solid evidence to prove that your family’s involved in this case. Your family has the biggest motivation,” The officer said calmly.
Yolanda snorted, “Are you kidding me? You’re saying that we kidnapped Grace just because we are not on good terms? Do you even know why my Dad hates Grace?”
Yolanda didn’t worry at all. The phone had been smashed into pieces and flushed down the toilet. There was no evidence left.
The officer looked up.
“Grace is a fucking liar. She lied to my Dad. Thea is not his daughter at all. You know Thea, right? She’s sort of famous right now. Her Mom wanted to keep my Dad with her, so she lied that Thea was their daughter. But she’s not… And that’s the reason why Dad hates her so much. But Dad’s pretty much a coward. Yes, he may harass her from time to time, but he will never dare to kidnap her.”
Yolanda felt good after spitting it all.
She used to consider exposing Thea’s past, but she was involved in Thea’s past. That was why she didn’t dare to say anything before the public.
Now that she had finally spat the whole thing out before the police, she felt extremely good.
However, what she said was only half true. What she said was what John had told Fiona before. In fact, John had known that Thea was not his daughter a long time ago.
The officer suddenly felt bad for this stupid woman. She probably didn’t know that Thea Todd’s real father was sitting out of the room, watching the whole interrogation. She probably thought Thea Todd was just some poor creature without any background that she could bully.
Yolanda was too naive.
“Don’t beat around the bush. We’ve seen your account. You made a transaction of 20 million dollars to two different people at 7 am. That is just a part of the number you agreed on with them, right? They said you would pay them another 30 million dollars after they killed Grace,” The officer didn’t want to waste any time with her anymore, so he threw the bomb.
The moment Yolanda’s mouth opened, she exclaimed, “Impossible! It won’t happen! I don’t even have 50 million bucks! You must not have understood the answer correctly. I’m only a B-list actress. I am quite new to this industry, having joined only two years ago. How is it possible for me to get so much money? You can’t have got that right, can you?”
The officer sniffed and said, “We have no reason to doubt ourselves. Aside from that, we went back and listened to your calls. You presumably were unaware that the person who kidnapped Grace handed over his phone to us. Therefore, even if you have disposed of the evidence, we can still retrieve it from his phone because it was recorded. Therefore, it would be best for both of us right now if you were honest with me, Yolanda. What was your motivation for kidnapping Grace? Why do you want to put an end to her life?”
Yolanda’s mouth was left open. She had a bead of cold sweat on her forehead as she said, “I… I have no idea what you’re talking about. I never had any intention of taking her life.”
“Have you owned up to the fact that you abducted her?” The cop continued to push forward.
“N-no!” Yolanda sputtered out as she realized she had no idea how to respond to this question anymore. “I didn’t! I still love my career to engage in any illegal activities pushing me into the deep abyss.”
“But the money’s from your account. You need to tell the truth. It might help you reduce a couple of years when we go to court,” The officer threatened.
Despite this, Yolanda continued to be rather obstinate, declaring, “I didn’t! I didn’t do anything!! Didn’t kidnap her! Why on earth would I ever want to do that? My professional life is not over yet! Why should I engage in such an idiotic activity? There must be some kind of misunderstanding here.”
The cop spoke in a chilly tone and continued, “But we’ve got everything we need to prove that you’re lying. So stop making stuff up, Yolanda. You will not make the situation better by doing this. It won’t help your case and will only result in additional punishment.”
Yolanda was so anxious that she was sweating, and her palms were shaking. She had the need to scream, but she kept telling herself that she needed to keep her cool and that she needed to deny the entire affair.
She was unable to come clean about it.
She has to come up with a strategy to convince the authorities that she is not guilty.
