Chapter 498: Grace Was Kidnapped

Book:TEMPTING The Mysterious CEO Published:2024-5-31

About two weeks ago, Grace launched her own bakery business. Fritzi would occasionally assist her with her bakery when she needed assistance.
On the other hand, one afternoon, a group of men unexpectedly showed up at the bakery and stated that some of their companions had diarrhea from eating the bread there.
Grace couldn’t even recall when she’d previously dealt with customers like them. She was solely concerned with ensuring that her components were wholesome, new, and uncontaminated. Nobody who had bought anything had ever complained about something like this. They just had complimentary things to say about her pastries.
These people must be here to seek trouble.
Grace clenched her teeth as she stood out, “What do you want exactly?”
One of the guys stood forward. It seemed like he was the leader of the group of punks. “My brother got issues after having your bread. You need to pay for the medical bills!”
Grace frowned, “The ingredients I used are all clean and fresh. It can’t be the bread I’m selling. Did your friend eat something else after the bread? Or does he have lactose intolerance? There are a lot of causes for diarrhea. You can’t blame it all on my bread because other customers didn’t complain about similar problems.”
The guy was here to start a fight and smash the store on purpose. He didn’t want any explanation.
“Grandma, you’re too old to bake bread. You should find a nursing house so your Alzheimer’s syndrome won’t get anyone killed. You took germs as sugar this time. What are you gonna mistakenly put in your bread next time? Arsenic?”
Grace was so angry. However, before she could argue, Fritzi suddenly showed up. “What is going on here?”
That guy instantly froze at the sight of Fritzi.
Fritzi checked out the guy from head to toe and let out a cold smile, “James… How much did you get paid this time? I believe you just left jail a couple of weeks ago, right? How dare you show up at my place?!”
James went fully panicked, “I… I’m sorry, Mrs. Weston. I didn’t know this was your friend’s bakery… I didn’t mean to… I’m so sorry… I’m leaving immediately.”
“Wait!” Fritzi snapped, “Have I allowed you to go? Who sent you here? Tell me the truth!”
“It’s… It’s a guy named John Gordon.” James looked hesitant to sell out his boss, but he was too scared of Fritzi, “That guy paid me to crush the store. Sorry, Fritzi… I really don’t know you’re here.”
Grace didn’t expect Fritzi to be so fierce. She had never seen this side of this elegant woman before.
The group of men left the store after getting scolded.
Grace went to hold Fritzi’s hand after the door swung to close, “Thank you so much, Fritzi. I honestly don’t know what to do if you were not here with me.”
Fritzi smiled, “You don’t need to thank me, Grace. I will always be glad to help. It’s just… That John Gordon is a threat. It would help if you found a way to deal with him. I can deal with him for you if you want.”
Grace no longer hesitated, nodding, “John’s in another city right now. He must still want to squeeze some money out of me. He failed to get what he wanted this time. I bet he will show up in our city soon. By then, we can start to fight back and teach that bastard a lesson!”
Fritzi smiled, “Great. Never be afraid of him. He’s not worthy of worry.”
Drew and Fritzi sent Grace back home that afternoon after the bakery was closed.
They’d been discussing how to make that bastard pay for what he did to Grace and Thea on their way back home.
“First… We need to get what Thea had lost and her mom. Second, John Gordon needs to pay for what he did. Third, if he dares to show his face before Thea and her mother, we will make him regret being born.” Drew uttered calmly.
Fritzi nodded, “Agree. Let’s do this.”
Fritzi went to the bakery quite early the next day. However, Grace didn’t show up even though it was close to noon.
Fritzi started to panic. Grace would usually come here earlier than her every day. She didn’t know why Grace still didn’t show up yet.
She tried to call her. But Grace didn’t pick up.
A bad feeling took hold of Fritzi’s mind. She went back to Grace’s house immediately.
But Granny told Fritzi that her daughter had left early this morning.
“What!? I can’t find her everywhere. She must be in danger!” Fritzi wasted no time and called her husband instantly.
Drew just sent away his patient immediately that day. After hearing the whole thing, he told his wife to stay calm. He was driving back home to meet her.
There were cameras around the place where Grace lived. They went to the security department of the villa and checked out the surveillance video, and they found out that some masked men had kidnaped Grace after she left the door.
“It’s all my fault!” Fritzi blamed herself for this, “I should have told her to be careful.”
“It’s not your fault! It has to be her ex-husband. Let’s call the police!”
Fritzi nodded, “Should we tell this to Thea for her to be aware?”
“We must,” Drew quickly agreed, “She has every right to know what happened to Grace.”
Fritzi nodded and called her daughter. Thea was still shooting a scene when Fritzi’s call came in.
Cody noticed the name, and he took the phone and accepted the call, “Fritzi? Thea’s working. What do you want to tell her?”
Fritzi was not surprised to hear Cody’s voice. She knew Cody went to the site to be with Thea every day. So she quickly tells Cody everything.
Cody was shocked to hear the news, “What? So Grace’s nowhere to find right now? Did you guys see those people’s faces on camera?”
“We failed to see their faces. But both Drew and I think it must be Grace’s ex-husband. That man is evil.”
Cody hurried to say, “Just calm down first. Did you guys call the police yet?”
Fritzi answered, “We did.”
“Good. Thea and I will be back soon,” Cody thought for a while, “And… none of us can be sure that the kidnapper is John. Just calm down first, and don’t do anything irrational.”
“Of course,” Fritzi just nodded and hung up.
Thea finished her part soon. When she walked over, Cody was still holding Thea’s phone tightly.
“Boss? Why do you look so nervous?” Thea smiled as she asked.
Cody cleared his throat, “Thea… I have something to tell you. But you need to promise me that you won’t panic.”
Thea blinked, feeling a bit nervous, “Okay. Just tell me.”
Cody stood up from his chair and walked toward her, holding her one delicate hand, “Grace… is probably kidnapped.”
“What?!” Thea’s hand shot to cover her mouth. She suddenly felt extremely dizzy after hearing such bad news.
Her legs almost gave out, and she almost collapsed to the ground.
But she managed to steady herself and pulled her phone from Cody’s hand, calling John immediately.
