Cody’s car had already arrived, even though Thea was still sound asleep when it arrived. Even Granny had fallen into a deep slumber. Grace was the only one who got up and began preparing breakfast. Grace smiled a bit awkwardly when she saw Cody after she opened the door, “You’re here, Mr. Bradley. Just come in and take a seat. I’m going to wake up Thea right now.”
Cody was holding bags of gifts, smiling as he said, “Don’t treat me as a stranger, Grace. Just call me Cody.”
Grace nodded and took those gifts before she went to Thea’s room to wake her up, “Honey, get up. Cody’s here.”
Thea rubbed her eyes, “What time is it now?”
“7 am,” Grace handed her the dress, “Come on, sweetie, rise and shine.”
“So early?” Thea yawned, “What is he even doing here so early?” She got up reluctantly and went to the bathroom in her slippers.
“You’re quite early today, Cody.” Thea yawned as she held her cup of coffee, “Wait for a second. I’ll be out soon after getting changed.”
When she first awoke, she was wearing a set of pajamas that were light blue and fluffy, and she had a really endearing appearance.
Cody gave a kind grin and said, “Take your time.”
Thea was confused. Why was he smiling so brightly? Did he have jobs for her to do now?”
After getting changed, Thea went to the parlor, “Cody, why are you here today?”
“Nothing,” Cody shrugged, “I’m just here to see you.”
Thea was confused, “Just came to see me? Why? Am I worth looking at?”
“Are you serious? I can look at you all day,” Cody teased.
Thea blushed.
Granny heard the conversation from her room. She couldn’t stay in her room anymore. She got changed and went to the parlor. The old woman was a bit angry as she saw the boy who attempted to take her granddaughter away.
Granny coughed before asking, “Mr. Bradley? You’re not busy today?”
“Yeah, I’m pretty free today. Just came to check Thea out,” Cody answered randomly, “I had brought some gifts for you as well. Granny.”
“You’re being too kind,” Granny said coldly before turning around and going back to her room.
Thea and Grace exchanged a weird look.
“What happened to Granny?” Thea asked confusingly.
Grace smiled, “Your Granny just doesn’t want someone to take you away.”
Granny had always been sad enough now that Thea had another family. Now, a random man just showed up and attempted to take her granddaughter away.
Granny didn’t like it at all. She thus decided to test Cody out.
She didn’t want Thea to get hurt. Thea was touched, but she thought this was a bit ridiculous.
Cody was a proud man, and no one could humiliate him.
Grace went back to the kitchen and made some really delicious breakfast. And then, she came out to summon other family members to have breakfast.
Granny sat next to Thea, trying to give Cody a difficult time as they enjoyed their food. But Cody managed to brush it off elegantly and politely. And he was so patient with Granny the whole time.
Grace started to like this young man. She heard Cody had known Thea since they were little, and the Bradley and the Weston family had been friends.
If Thea married Cody, the Bradley family would treat her so well. And she would be protected. It was perfect.
After the meal, Cody said, “Demi, Grace, Granny, let’s go hang out at my parents.’ house later. They all want to see you.”
Grace was quite surprised, “I thought Mr. Weston and Mrs. Weston would want to see Thea.”
Cody blinked and realized that he had said the wrong thing, “Sorry… I mean, let’s go to the Weston. You probably don’t know this, Grace. But the two houses hang out together a lot. Sometimes it’s even hard for me to tell the two houses apart. The two houses are like one family. Every time we encounter any crisis, we will solve the problem together. Grandpa Weston sometimes would even live in Pop’s place for months.”
Granny nodded, “I see. But Thea’s still trying to get familiar with her family. Let’s go to the Weston’s directly.”
“Of course,” Cody answered instantly.

Soon, Drew and Fritzi arrived. The couple looked at Cody quite surprisingly, “Cody? You already came here? Wow, you’re quite early.”
Cody finally let his allies. He nodded, “Of course. I just invited Grace, Thea, and Granny over to your house.”
Drew smiled brightly, “Great! We’ve actually been thinking about the same thing. We’re glad you acted before we arrived. That’s really considerate of you, Cody.”
Cody just nodded and smiled.
Grace invited them to sit on the couch, and she went to pour them some coffee.
After serving the coffee, the nice woman smiled at the couple, “We’ve discussed this. We don’t have many things to do today, and Thea’s also not that busy. So we decided to go to your house. Thanks for inviting us. But we need to get changed first. We will get downstairs soon.”
“Of course,” Fritzi smiled warmly, “Take your name, Mrs. Todd. The car is waiting outside, and we can leave whenever you’re ready.”
Everyone was ready about 30 minutes later. Thea helped Granny to get downstairs. Cody flanked Granny on the other side.
They got in the fancy limo of the Weston’s. Cody drove his car and followed from behind.
Soon, the car drove into the magnificent yard of the Weston family mansion.
Thea had seen this house once. But she still couldn’t take her eyes away when she saw it for the second time.
This place looked like a palace.
No wonder those people said the Weston family was the second wealthiest house in the city. The first one, of course, was the Bradley House.
When the car finally stopped, Thea felt she couldn’t breathe as she noticed that there was a crowd of people crowding the little fountain square before the sandstone stairs.
And all of them were in fancy clothes.
