When Thea left her trailer, she had put her full makeup on. This was a scene that involved her and Logan. Logan was the police officer, and she was the thief. They secretly had a crush on each other. Yet they were born to be rivals.
Logan would try to test her out in this scene. This part would be tough because the tension needed to be full.
Thea entered her role pretty fast. Logan was also a talented actor. They helped each other to get into the roles. And they were perfect together as always.
Before Drew drove to the site directly, he went to his grandpa’s house to pick up the old man, knowing he would want to see his great-granddaughter.
The Weston had shares in the investment of this movie, but they didn’t see the director yet. That made it a bit easy for them to enter the site.
Drew found a quiet place to sit down with his grandpa and wife when Thea shot the scene.
When the director shouted “cut,” Thea looked around and spotted the three people at the corner.
Since they wouldn’t know other guys in the crew, Thea could only think that Weston was here to visit her.
But… Why?
Fritzi was so excited. She stood up as Thea looked in her direction.
“Mr. Weston, Mrs. Weston, Grandpa?” Thea was surprised as she walked toward them, “Why did you guys suddenly come here?”
Honestly, she was a bit stunned at their sudden appearance. She indeed saw Weston in Bradley’s house last time. But she didn’t remember being so familiar with them.
“We… We dropped by,” Drew forced out a smile, “So we decided to pay you a visit.”
“Oh.” Thea blinked as Daisy used a brush to fix her makeup, “You guys should have called me beforehand. So I can arrange for you a tour around this place. The site has a lot of interesting things.”
“No, no.” Fritzi hurried to say, “Please, no tour, honey. We’re just here to check you out. We don’t want to interrupt your job.”
Thea blinked. Did they come here to supervise? Thea knew the Weston family had shares in Honor Entertainment. Were they here to inspect her work? “Have you had any breakfast, Thea?” Mr. Weston asked, “It’s so early that you woke up for the shooting.”
Thea smiled, “Oh. I’m okay. I seldom get hungry in the morning anyway. Do you guys want to find a quieter place to sit? This place is a mess.”
“It’s okay, Thea,” Drew smiled, “You don’t need to mind us. Just focus on your job. We will take care of ourselves. We don’t want to distract you.”
“Okay.” Thea was still weirded out, “Just call my assistant if you need anything, okay?”
“Thea! Sweetie! Where are you?” A woman’s voice suddenly called across the site.
Thea turned around and saw Grace.
“Excuse me,” Thea said to Drew, Fritzi, and Mr. Weston before running off.
“Honey, I brought you freshly baked bread.” Grace was holding a basket. Granny also came with her today.
“You haven’t eaten anything yet, have you?” Granny smiled, “Try some. They’re pretty good.”
Drew felt a bit sour as she watched Thea interact with her mother and grandmother from a distance.
And then, Thea exchanged some words with them, and they just went in their direction.
Drew instantly stood up.
Granny was still a bit mad as she saw the Weston family. Drew knew what happened last time was quite unpleasant. So he apologized instantly, “Mrs. Todd, I’m so sorry for what happened last time. I should have taught Mia better. I hope you guys won’t be mad at us for that.”
Thea laughed, “Mr. Weston, you don’t need to apologize for that. We’re not mad. Mia’s still young. No one will blame them. By the way, my Mom brought some fresh bread for me. Why don’t you guys try some with us? My Mom is a mean cook.”
“I’m okay,” Grace laughed, “Please, indeed, join us.”
“That will be really nice,” Drew was thrilled to get any chance to get to know and get close to Thea. Fritzi and Grandpa also followed him.
They went to Thea’s trailer and just sat down and talked, enjoying bread over cups of steaming tea.
The atmosphere was warm and nice.
But soon, the assistant director came to knock on the door, informing Thea that she needed to prepare for the next scene.
Thea still had a piece of bread in her mouth when the stylist came in to do her makeup.
Drew and Fritzi exchanged a look and frowned. They didn’t expect Thea to be so exhausted every day.
When Thea went to the site, the two families also followed. The furrow between Drew’s eyebrows grew deeper as he saw Thea jumping up and down from the truck in those wires.
What if she fell off? That was so dangerous.
But Thea had gotten used to that. She felt her condition was getting even better after her Mom and Granny came to visit.
The scene was a bit difficult. The shooting wasn’t finished even when it was already 11 pm. But Thea didn’t appear to be tired at all. The second female lead failed the script again and again. But Thea just did her job with the same positive condition.
Drew didn’t like this at all.
He went directly to the director, “It’s 11 pm already. Why are you still shooting this scene? The actors are already tired.”
The director still hadn’t known who this man was. He was a bit impatient, “All the workers in the crew are working with the actors. The actors are not the only ones who suffer. We can only move on after this scene is finished. Or the schedule would be delayed. Who the heck are you, and why are you telling me how to do my job?”
“This is against the law,” Drew was not happy, “What if the workers are too tired? There can be accidents. Can you be responsible for that?”
No one on the crew knew who these people were. But they all saw these people were with Thea earlier. The director would have kicked them out if they didn’t come here with Thea.
Thea noticed the little dispute and asked the workers to put her down immediately.
She went to talk to the director and made sure that he wasn’t mad anymore. And then, she went to the Weston family.
“Thea, It’s getting late. You really need to get some rest now,” Fritzi took Thea’s hand, “You can’t exhaust yourself.”
“Mrs. Weston.” Thea sighed as he pulled her hand back carefully, “All the actors work this way on our crew. I’m okay. Thanks for being so sweet, but I really know my limits. It’s just… It’s getting really late now. Aren’t you guys gonna go back and get some rest? You guys have been here all day. You must be tired, aren’t you?”
“We’re okay, sweetie,” Fritzi instantly said, “We’re not tired.”
“Okay.” Thea arched an eyebrow. She was getting more suspicious of how they acted and meddling in her job.
