Thea’s face was covered by special makeup. She didn’t even dare to look into the mirror as it was injury makeup, and her face was covered by dry blood and bruises. The next scene still needed to use wire. The stunt had finished the most difficult parts. All she needed to do was put wires on and pose for the camera. But it was still quite dangerous. She remembered the last tragic accident during the shoot of her last drama series, and it was quite horrible that even thinking about it now made her shiver.
The makeup artists said they still needed to add more details to her face. Thea thus leaned against the chair and started to scroll down her phone.
Daisy came into her trailer, bringing her a hot cup of coffee, “Hey, Thea, do you know that? Nina’s into something horrible lately.”
“What is it?” Thea asked as she kept scrolling down her phone, not seeming to care.
People like Nina would fall eventually, and she expected that. However, hearing Daisy’s words this time, she thought the online drama might be huge.
She didn’t even want to bother thinking about the reason.
“Nina broke up with her boyfriend.” Daisy gossiped, “And she lost all the resources her boyfriend brought her. She will definitely suffer this time.”
“Why did they break up? Aren’t they in love with each other?” Thea asked carelessly.
“It turned out the baby in Nina’s belly was not Zack’s. The father is a random director of a movie. What is his name again… forgot… He’s not even that famous anyway.” Daisy shook her head.
“God! These people are messed up,” Thea was still a bit shocked after hearing the whole thing.
“Indeed! And Nina also lost her opportunity in a new movie, and the director picked her because she was Zack’s girlfriend. Now, the producer just directly yanked the role out of Nina’s hand. I bet it’s gonna be super hard for her to get any resources after this. Everyone knows Zack has too many connections in this circle. She will be doomed if he decides to get back at her.”
Showbiz was never easy. This fact just proved itself again and again as the day passed. She has been a

When Cody came to visit, Thea was already in the air. The fighting scenes in this movie were pretty hard. Thea had to make those moves repeatedly in the air until the shoots met the director’s satisfaction.
She didn’t see Cody until she was put down. Cody ran over, holding her body to help her get steadier when the workers of the crew were trying to get those wires off her.
Thea couldn’t breathe as she felt his strong arms around her body. It was pretty cold out here, but Cody’s body was always warm.
Thea suddenly became extremely red when she heard low murmurs stirred around them, “What the heck are you doing, Cody? People are still watching. Remove your arms around me.”
Cody was smiling charmingly up at her, “What are they watching? I’m just helping get you to get down. Did I make something wrong?”
“Well. You surely don’t need to do this when you own a big company, Boss,” Thea bit on her bottom lip.
“You’re a precious asset to my company, Thea Todd. Taking care of you is also my business,” Cody pulled a straight face, “It bugs me when I think other men would hold you when you got your wires untied.”
“Did you just call me ‘precious,’ Cody Bradley?” Thea teased.
“I did,” a big smile broke Cody’s handsome face.
Thea looked away, still blushing. Damn, this good-looking bastard.

Meanwhile, in a kindergarten in Thea’s hometown, Linford and Drew were sitting face to face with a grey-haired teacher. “You said, Thea Todd? I remember her. I even got some photos of that girl,” The doctor quickly said.
“Would you show us a bit?” Drew asked excitedly.
“Of course.”
Drew’s hands were trembling as he saw Demi in those photos.
He couldn’t even spit out a coherent sentence as he flickered through the kindergarten yearbook.
“L-Linford… Look… It’s her… It’s really my Demi. My grandpa is right. She is my precious Demi.”
Linford leaned forward and looked at the girl in those photos. The little girl was wearing a white dress, and her blonde hair was pulled into two ponytails on each side of her head. She looked so cute.
“How old was she during this time?” Drew asked.
“I believe she was about 4 or 5 when she took the photo.” The teacher answered, still a bit shocked by the tears of this grown man before him.
“The age…” Drew swallowed, “The age also matched, Linford… The age also matched. Demi was about the same age when she went missing.”
“Sir… Are you okay?” The teacher asked worriedly after seeing Drew’s pale face.
“He’s okay.” Linford said politely, “Just give him a minute.”
The teacher nodded suspiciously. He wouldn’t have seen these men if the local police station didn’t contact him.
They didn’t look like they were from this town.
“Do you….” Linford cleared his throat, “Do you know anything about the girl’s family?”
The teacher nodded, “I heard about her family. But not much. Thea’s mother, Grace Todd, had a daughter with her ex-husband. However, that poor girl passed away in a car accident when she was five. That broke poor Grace’s heart. However, God loved her after all. She met Thea in the local hospital when she was the most hopeless. The hospital said the girl couldn’t find her parents. Grace thus adopted her. Back then, the girl had a head injury, and she was still in a coma. When Grace brought her back, however, she suddenly woke up. Grace’s husband was constantly on business trips. He didn’t know that his wife had adopted a little girl. I heard they always tried to have another baby. But Grace got injured in that car accident, which made her incapable of getting pregnant again. The girl thus became their only child.”
