Thea finally joined the crew members. The director informed her that the actor who played the male lead had been changed.
Thea looked around and saw a couple of familiar faces on the crew. Those faces all had quite influential positions in the entertainment industry. And it seemed like she was the only newbie.
She went to chat with them and made an introduction out of politeness. The director even started a group chat, so the actors could communicate with each other more conveniently.
Everyone in the crew had seen the video of Thea’s audition. They thus didn’t believe what those rumors said on the internet. This drama was big, and Ryan was a significant director.
He would never choose his roles so randomly.
Thea’s performance just proved her ability and profession.

Since the show was set in the 18th century, Thea needed to perform and act like a high-class lady. However, there was a scene where she needed to fall off a cliff. The male lead would save her as she fell. This was also a turning point in their relationship. The scene would involve wire. Thea thought it was quite fun since it was her first wire scene.
Candace, however, was so nervous as those employees put the equipment on her, “Thea… You need to be really careful. Okay?”
Thea nodded.
When the director shouted “action,” the filming instantly began. Thea was chased by a wolf as she ran for her life.
The wolf forced her to the edge of the cliff. She fell off since she had nowhere to run. The wire should have caught her in this part.
But it didn’t.
Thea’s heart lurched to her throat as she fell off the 12 feet man-made cliff. She thought that was the end of her life.
However, the male lead of the series, Kevin, suddenly showed up ahead of time and caught her in his arms. The impact of Thea’s fall was too strong. The two people both collapsed and rolled down the mound. Kevin’s weight was heavy on her body, and Thea heard someone scream from a distance.
The next thing she knew, Kevin was carried away by a couple of crew workers, and then some workers came forth to ask if she was alright.
“Thea! Thea?! Can you hear me?” Candace asked her anxiously. Zara was also next to her. They both looked like they were going to go mad.
“I’m okay.” Thea still felt a bit dizzy, “Where’s Kevin? Is he okay?”
“Ow… My leg!” Kevin was covering his leg. His voice was painful.
“Hospital!” The director panicked, “Faster!”
The accident caused the whole crew to stop the shooting for one day.
Kevin almost broke his bone, and Thea got some deep cuts on her legs. Both of them needed to spend at least three days in the hospital.
Ryan was furious, “How the heck did that happen?! You should feel lucky that the ground was soft and the actors were still safe. Or I swear you won’t find a single job in this circle for the rest of your life!”
The manager of the prop felt extremely guilty, “We’ve found out the reason. It’s the joints of the wire… It’s getting rusty… The worker didn’t find out. That’s why this happened.”
“Stop making any excuses! Do you even know how much pressure I’ve been enduring since the last month? The biggest investor thought Thea was not okay, and he insisted on changing her, forcing me to shoot the beginning again. Now that the investor finally shut up after checking out the clips I sent him, the prop almost killed the girl this morning. If Kevin didn’t show up in time to save her, her face would have been ruined! Do you know how big of a deal it is if we ruin a young and promising young actor’s face?”
The manager suddenly went a bit suspicious, “Don’t you think it’s a bit weird, Ryan? Why does it sound like to me that everything that happened was aiming to bring Thea down?”
Ryan’s brow raised, his face falling all of a sudden, “Go question that worker who was rigging the wire this morning! I need to know who he was working for before he came to our crew members.”
The manager nodded and left.

Kevin and Thea were in separate wards.
The hospital signed a contract to keep their conditions a secret.
Zara called Daisy over to help. Candace found her brother instantly, “Cody! You need to come. Thea just fell.”
Cody was in the middle of a meeting. He hung up the phone immediately after hearing what his sister had told him.
“Meeting adjourned,” He shot up from his chair before walking out of the office.
Everyone in the meeting room was giving each other weird looks as their Boss grabbed his coat and stormed out of the huge room.

The traffic was pretty dense. Cody even used his helicopter. The medical workers in the hospital thought they were expecting an organ transplant as Cody stepped off his helicopter.
“Sorry.” Cody smiled apologetically, “No urgent matter today. Just came to visit a friend.”
“Sir, a lot of paparazzi are waiting outside of the hospital,” Matt reported as he followed Cody to the stairs.
“Find a way to shut them off,” Cody ordered, “Don’t make too big of a scene. Thea needs rest.”
“Noted, sir. I will come to you later,” The assistant nodded and walked away.
When Cody knocked on the door, Daisy was the one who came to open it. The girl seemed pretty surprised as she saw Cody’s face, “Boss! You came so early. I thought you were busy.”
“Where’s she?” Cody tried to contain his composure, but he still could barely control his anger as he saw Thea lying pale and weak in the hospital bed.
Thea noticed the pure anxiety on his face and forced out a smile, “Boss…. Does the pizza I just ordered cover my employee insurance?”
She didn’t want these things to get too serious.
