Thea went home after having her meal at Cody’s house.
Her Mom and Granny were watching TV dramas on the couch when she arrived. They invited Thea the moment she stepped into the living room.
“What are you guys watching?” Thea asked curiously.
“That Holly girl also got a role in this drama, and her acting wasn’t good at all.” Her Granny sounded sulking while staring at the screen, “I wonder why those people bothered to give her that role. The girl is vicious, and her acting skills are bad! Remember what she did to us? Remember what she did to you?”
Thea laughed while she sat beside her grandma, “Granny, it’s not worth it to get mad at a person like her.”
“I searched for this drama online, and the feedback is pretty good.” Her Mom wondered how the comments appeared that way, “How did Holly even get this role? I thought she was shut out from the business after what she did to you.”
Thea shrugged, “She was not Holly anymore. She was Yolanda now. I don’t know… Maybe her agent finally and her company gave her a chance to act in that drama series. She has some acting skills, in my opinion.”
Thea knew the man behind Holly was Derek. But she didn’t want to mention that bastard’s name so her poor Mom and Granny won’t get even more worried.
Granny shook her head, “John doesn’t mind spending money on his stepdaughter, does he? I don’t know what’s wrong with that man. You were calling him father when you were little. How could he do this to you? Mark my word, both Fiona and her daughter are selfish women. One day, they will spit John Gordon out as if he was a piece of chewed gum when they have sucked up all his blood and hard-earned money.”
“Mom…” Grace nudged her Mom, afraid that Thea would get upset, “That’s enough. Let him live his life the way he wanted.”
“I’m okay, Mom,” Thea glanced at her Mother, smiling, “John Gordon can’t break my heart anymore. I don’t even care about that old man.” She leaned forward and left a kiss on her Mom and Granny’s cheeks, “I already have the best Mom and Granny in the world. I don’t need that man to be my Dad.”
Grace wanted to cry. Her little one had always been so tough, and she always refused to show her vulnerable side. And that broke Grace’s heart.
She wished Thea could find a man to love her and cherish her one day.
Her baby girl was so kind. She deserved more blessings in life.
“Why did you come back so early today, though, baby,” Grace cooed as she touched Thea’s hair, “I thought your boss invited you to his place. Did he arrange you for another project?”
“Yeah,” Thea’s eyes lit up, and she nodded, “Got an ad shooting tomorrow and an audition for a TV drama after that one.”
“You’re getting a role in a drama as well, Thea?” Her Granny’s eyes suddenly lit up at the news, “You should nail that role and outshine that cunning little Yolanda!”
“Hush, Granny take it easy,” Thea laughed, “Don’t worry, I will definitely outshine Yolanda, and you will see me on TV soon.”
“Okay, sweetie, we believe you,” Her Mom left a kiss on her cheek, “Now go take a bath and some beauty sleep.”

The ad shooting went quite well, and the huge amount of money that was paid for her was properly compensated as Thea gave out her best. It was a yogurt ad. The company even sent her ten boxes of organic yogurt after the shooting.
Thea distributed the boxes between Zara and Daisy, but so many were still left in her position.
She wondered shortly if Cody would want to have it. But thinking for a while, she realized Cody was hella rich. He probably would laugh at cheap gifts like this.
Thea stood there and held her phone. She hesitated for a while and decided that she probably shouldn’t call her boss.
It would be silly to offer some yogurt to him.
Cody was a busy man. If she called him and asked him if he wanted any free yogurt… organic or not, that would still be so dumb.
Besides, Cody promised that he would take her to the audition. She would see me soon anyway.
Thinking of that, Thea decided to put down her phone.
However, Cody didn’t show up during the audition day.
Thea was a bit surprised as she noticed that Zara was the one who drove the car.
“Where’s Cody?” Thea asked as she got in the backseat. Daisy leaned forward to fix her hair and dress.
“Oh, Cody’s busy,” Zara smiled at the mirror.
Thea had a feeling that her agent was not telling the truth. But she knew it would be inappropriate if she asked more.
“Practiced the lines?” Zara urged her.
“Yeah. I did it already,” Thea answered lamely.
“I see you’re quite confident, so I think it won’t be necessary for me to ask for the result,” Zara commented slightly.
Thea’s eyes flew outside the window, and she didn’t bother to answer back.
Why didn’t Cody show up when he promised her that day?
“There are a lot of A-list actresses competing for your role, Thea,” Zara reminded her seriously, “Do you know Nina Black?”
“Gosh, really?!” Thea’s eyes widened, “You mean THAT Nina Black?”
“There’s only one Nina Black in the showbiz industry,” Zara said, “And yes, you’re gonna be competing with her.”
Thea took in a sharp breath. Nina Black was no less than Rachel or Paris.
She didn’t expect her competitor to be so famous.
“An experienced actress like Nina Black has acting skills,” Zara analyzed as she kept driving, “So, if you want to defeat her, you’re gonna pay attention to details. A lot of details to be exact. This is a tough competition.”
Thea nodded heavily.
She was still a bit shaky as she went into the dressing room.
She noticed Nina Black was sitting before the vanity mirror at the other end of the room.
Thea swallowed, feeling her mouth go dry.
She wished Cody was here to support her.
She probably wouldn’t feel this nervous if Cody Bradley was around.
That man always managed to make her calm down.
No… Stop thinking about that man, Thea! Pull yourself together and focus on your work! Thea shook her head and sat before the mirror. She was trying her best to calm down her anxious feelings.
