Cody’s eyes scanned around the small hall and detected Thea’s funny hat. She was sitting in the 5th row, and he was in the 7th. And that man sitting next to her. Cody recognized Dylan as he leaned in to talk to Thea. Thea listened to whatever he said and passed a hand to her mouth as if trying to stifle a laugh.
Dylan and Thea? Out on a date?
Was Thea Todd out of her mind? Cody’s mouth fell open. And then, his surprise was replaced by dark anger.
She was a star, and her career was climbing. But she somehow decided to hang out with another actor.
Dylan had the most frantic fans in this circle. If his fans saw them, they would destroy Thea’s career.
The feeling Cody had right now was beyond extreme anger.
Amy, Candace, and Thomas all noticed that. They looked a bit scared as Amy managed to ask, “What’s wrong, Cody? You looked scary.”
Cody dropped his gaze, “I’m okay. Watch the movie now.”
The movie began.
Amy didn’t give up even though Cody refused to give her any explanation. She noticed the direction where Cody’s eyes tended to dart toward the couple near them. She didn’t know that girl, but she recognized the guy immediately.
“Oh my gosh! Isn’t that…” And then, her hands shot out automatically to cover her mouth.
Holy shit! That was Dylan Makovsky! The actor in this movie!
Cody noticed the sound Amy just made and warned her with a frown, “Keep it quiet about what you see.”
Amy nodded. But she was getting so excited.
No wonder Cody seemed to be annoyed. Dylan was so bold to drag someone as his date. This hall is swarmed with his fans, and he somehow dared to bring his girlfriend here. Wasn’t he even afraid of losing his fans?
If his crazy fans got to know this, they would probably skin that girl.
He was the most important asset of the company. He couldn’t just date some random girl and show up in public so as if he didn’t give a fuck, wasting the company’s efforts spent on him.
Amy suddenly realized why Cody had a gloomy face. She would have also been so mad if she had been in his shoes.
She lowered her voice as she leaned forward, “It’s okay, as long as he leaves before the movie ends, nobody will notice him. It’s pretty dark here, though.”
Cody’s eyes were focusing intensely on the movie, “Can you stop talking?”
He still looked so angry for something else. Amy couldn’t fathom it, so she kept her mouth shut.

It was a long two hours. Not because the movie was bad but because Amy spent too much time trying to figure out what Cody was thinking.
Cody didn’t budge from his seat, trying to wait until Thea left the hall. However, the accident still happened. A couple of fans recognized Dylan. Dylan tugged at Thea’s hand and brought her out of the room immediately. Cody turned to Amy, “You guys can leave now. There’s a little bit of an accident. I need to handle it immediately.”
Amy blinked and nodded, “Okay… Just be really careful, I guess… Some fans are crazy.”
Cody ran out of the room after saying that.
Dylan ran down the hallway, grabbing Thea’s hand tightly. “Dylan! We should split!” Thea hissed. She didn’t want to be caught with Dylan. His fans would destroy her.
“You’re right.” Dylan was panting as he let go of her hand, “Let’s separate from here.”
Thea nodded and turned another way, running downstairs in a hurry. Her usual clumsy self would have tripped, but right now, her adrenaline just rushed all over her system.
Cody caught a glimpse of the girl’s small figure. He ran toward Thea immediately. Thea heard the hasty footfalls behind her back. She thought it was another stalker. She tried to pick up her speed, but she tripped on the edge of the carpet, falling onto it with a thud.
“Oh, my god.”
“DON’T TOUCH ME!” Thea almost threw her purse at the towering man. However, her eyes widened in the next second as she noticed that it was actually Cody.
“Wha- Cody?” Thea’s mouth fell open.
Cody frowned as he crouched down to check out Thea, one big hand grabbing her ankle, “Did you get hurt anywhere?”
Thea blinked. The texture of his rough hand against her exposed skin made her blush.
“I’m okay.” Thea dropped her gaze, trying to hide the embarrassing look in her eyes.
Where was his girlfriend? Wouldn’t she be so mad if he left her right after the movie? It was usually the part where the guy drove the girl home… even got upstairs and had a cup of coffee in the girl’s house.
The more Thea thought about it, the more she got jealous.
“I can stand up by myself,” Thea struggled to her feet, bracing one hand against the wall. And then, she lurched forward at the sharp pain in her ankle.
Luckily, Cody was there to catch her, “Whoa! Can you stop being so stubborn, Thea Todd?”
“I said I’m okay.” Thea insisted.
“Why do you sound so angry then?” Cody frowned, “I haven’t asked you as your boss. Why do you show up in public so randomly? Don’t we have rules about things like this in our contracts? And why the heck are you with Dylan Makovsky?”
Thea looked away feebly, knowing she should feel ashamed because she broke the company terms.
“Today is his movie premiere day. I just came here to support him as a friend.” Thea explained.
Cody stared at Thea, letting out a sigh. He believed Thea’s words no matter what she said. This girl was honest and hard-working. Cody found it hard for him to blame her for anything.
“Have you eaten anything today?” Cody suddenly asked.
“Wh-what?” Thea blinked. That question was so random that she forgot how to answer it.
Cody sighed again and scooped her up, lifting her in his arms.
“Wait- I can walk,” Thea argued, her face as red as a tomato.
“Keep it quiet and hide your face,” Cody said without looking down, “I’m taking you somewhere.”

Cody took her to a restaurant. It looked hella expensive. And Thea’s mouth dropped open as Cody ordered the food she liked.
How the heck did he get to know her favorite food?
Thea didn’t dare to ask too much as the waitress took their menu away. She looked up and saw Cody’s intense eyes under the dim light of the restaurant.
