Thea didn’t know that Cody made some effort for her to avoid any interaction with the bad people. She was still so nervous, but she knew she had to do her best to showcase her acting talent. Besides, this movie is her first project ever.
When she was in the dressing room doing makeup, Candace suddenly walked in, looking all happy and joyful, “Thea! Good news! We’ve found a stuntman to act with you! Guess who will be the stunt actor during the rape scene? It’s Cody!”
Thea was nervously taking a sip from her cup while listening to Candace.
Candace’s cheerful voice made her spit a mouthful of water, suddenly making her almost out of breath.
“Wh-Why would the scene need a stunt actor for the sex scene? And it’s Cody Bradley?” Thea coughed hard.
“Cody said he didn’t trust other men, and he believed he could contain himself better than them.” Candace smiled brightly and calmly announced it while leaning on her.
“Another thing, he said he’s your boss. He didn’t want those men to put their hands on you. What if they have filthy ideas? Besides, if any bad news about you came out, it would also harm the reputation of the company and will affect the future benefits.”
“Right!” Thea felt complicated. What Cody did was quite sweet. But acting out a sex scene with her boss? Could she do it properly?
Candace noticed the look on Thea’s face, “What’s wrong, Thea? You don’t trust Cody, do you?
“Of course I trust him.” Thea quickly responded. She also couldn’t explain why. But she’d rather act in that scene with a stranger than with Cody.
Acting with Cody was just too much for her to bear.
“Good.” Candace abruptly wicked at her, “Get ready. Cody’s waiting for you at the site now.”
****
“H-Hi!” Thea stammered and waved at Cody reluctantly. God, this was awkward!
Cody nodded back slightly. He was wearing a worn-out jeans shirt to fit the image.
Thea couldn’t believe that Cody was gonna play a street thug with that face. His face alone was not convincing as he looked extremely handsome. But luckily, the cameras would only get his back. Thea’s dress had been torn for this scene. And she had to lie down on the couch before the camera. Her torn dress was pushed up to her thigh, and her hair was a mess.
Cody towered over her and grabbed her face as the director instructed him to do.
“Tell me if it’s hurtful… I will stop immediately.” Cody said with a hushed voice as he grabbed her face. And he instantly froze as he realized how awful those words were when they came out of his mouth.
Thea’s face fleshed a bloody red as she looked away under his body.
No, Thea Todd. Just pull yourself together! You’re an actor, and you must finish this job properly! Thea clenched her teeth and scolded herself through her head.
When Cody started to move back and forth, Thea squeezed her eyes shut. She also needed to cry and scream, and it was so exhausting. She still couldn’t get into the right state since the face hovering above her was Cody’s. But the director didn’t shout “cut.” She knew she needed to finish the scene. When Thea opened her eyes again, she was completely in character.
She got more and more scared, and she started to cry.
Cody froze for a short second as he saw the tears rolling from her squeezed eyes. In a daze, Cody leaned forward to kiss her tears, and his grip suddenly loosened unconsciously. He can’t stop the strong emotion that drew him away.
Thea’s eyes snapped open when his hot lips touched her skin. Cody went a bit panicked as their eyes engaged. In a split second, the surrounding seems frozen.
“CUT!”
Luckily, the director suddenly shouted. Cody pulled away instantly, grabbing a blanket and draping it over Thea’s body without looking at her.
He marched out of the site immediately, leaving Thea in shock and speechless. She could still feel the touch of his lips on her cheek.
That was so out of character. They were lucky that the cameras were only fixed on Cody’s back. Or they would probably need to do it again and again.
Candace ran over happily, giving Thea a bottle of water, “I just asked the director, and he said the scene was perfect. You did a great job, Thea.”
Thea nodded in a daze.
Why did he kiss her? Was he out of his mind? This question lingered in her mind.
Cody left the shooting site without telling anyone. Candace shrugged after learning it from Daisy. She had already gotten used to her brother’s occasional weirdness.
“But there’s one thing that Mr. Bradley asked you to pay more attention to, Thea,” Daisy said as she placed a box of salad on Thea’s desk.
“What is it?” Thea was wiping makeup off her face as she looked into the mirror.
“He wanted you to be careful when Rachel came to visit.”
“Rachel?” Thea almost choked on her tea, “Rachel Smith?”
That Queen Actress mocked her a while ago on Twitter?
What will she do here?
“Mr. Bradley said she always wanted your character. She’s probably gonna give you a hard time when she shows up.” Daisy said, looking a bit worried.
Thea smiled and gave her a hug, “It’s okay. Do you forget that I’m tough? I can handle everything.”
Candace was pretty confident, “Yeah. Thea will definitely handle that bitch.”
Rachel made a great presence that day. She brought everyone in the crew a coffee.
And she even brought a famous investor to the site. Rachel was in her 30s, but she looked like she was 24 or 25.
She gave Thea a dramatic hug when she saw her, “UGH! Thea Todd! I love your acting.”
“You get it wrong, Rachel,” Thea smiled, “My name is not Thea Todd. My name is Thea Who.”
Rachel’s fake smile was strangled by her words. Nevertheless, Thea enjoyed every second of seeing Rachel’s reaction.
