“Thank you!” Thank you, guys, so much! I couldn’t make it without your massive support!” Cora couldn’t stop crying. She thought she was hopeless among all the beautiful and hard-working girls. She didn’t expect to stand a chance in the end.
Anna’s heart sunk horribly to her stomach as she heard Cora’s name. Based on what her company leaked to her, Cora was not on the final list at all. Someone’s name must have been crossed on that list, and that person couldn’t only be herself.
NO!
Her parents would spend money on her. She had to debut. She just had t
“On the 8th place, Gigi!” Dylan announced.
Gigi bounced on the floor as she hugged Angie.
It turned out Angie was in 7th place. Angie and Gigi were best friends, and they were from the same company. Their agent was thrilled.
“On the 6th place, Rebecca!” Dylan smiled at Rebecca. Rebecca thought she would only be 8th or 9th. She didn’t expect her ranking to be so high. She laughed and turned to give Thea a hug. Thea smiled and patted her shoulder, “Good job, Becca! You deserve this!
Jessica won 5th place. After what she had gone through a couple of days ago, Jessica realized how great this opportunity was to her. She bowed before the audience deeply, thanking her fans again and again in tears for their support.
“On the 4th place is…” Dylan’s face fell as he stared at the name list. But he prevented himself from questioning the host because he was still on the stage. So he forced out a smile, “Thea is the 4th member of the group! Congratulations!”
Thea had been so nervous. She was so afraid that her name wouldn’t be on that list.
However, after hearing her name and her ranking, she was happy. She took a deep breath before holding her microphone and said, “Thank you! Thank you, everyone! I love you so much! Thank you!”
Dylan finished the list in a row, “On the 3rd place, Tiffany. The 2nd place, Luna. 1st place, Beth!”
Tiffany screamed so loudly that she made the cameras all directed at her, stealing Beth’s moment. Her voice was whiny as she made the speech, “Thank you! Thank you, my dear tutors, for never giving me up. I’d like to thank my good friends from this show. Thank you so much for taking care of me! I’m so excited… I…” Tiffany choked on her tears, “I’ve felt so much pressure during the last two months, and I will never forget my time in this lovely camp with all the lovely girls. Thank you! This is the best moment in my life! I love you guys. I love you so much.”
“Can she give us a break?” Becca rolled her eyes when the cameras went away, “People would think she got the highest vote if they were deaf.”
Thea laughed. Tiffany was intentionally stealing Beth’s thunder, and it was a pretty dumb move.
She guessed those fans online would criticize Tiffany. But Tiffany probably wouldn’t even care.
The tutors congratulated the 9 members of the group in the end. And the two-month intense competition was finally over.
Tiffany called her assistants and agent that night, asking them to come and help her move her stuff.
And then, she asked Thea to go to a party. Thea knew what she was planning to do. She really didn’t want to waste any time on her anymore. So she decided to go back to her apartment alone and take a good rest.
She was exhausted after weeks of practice.
There were only two girls in the group that didn’t have company. Thea hadn’t signed with Cody yet, and Cora had just graduated from school.
Cody thought Cora also had a lot of potential. So he signed her as well. After the contracts were made, Cody assigned each of the girls one assistant and one agent.
“It’s good to finally see you, Thea. I’m your assistant. You can call me Daisy,” Daisy was Zoey’s niece, and she was a reliable person. She was so nervous when she saw Thea in person. She had watched the show, and Thea was her favorite member. She didn’t expect to become her personal assistant. This was a dream come true for Daisy.
Thea smiled friendly and gave her a hug, “It’s good to see you, too. Daisy. I like your shirt.”
“You do?” Daisy blushed as she looked down at her shirt.
“Of course,” Thea smiled charmingly.
“I’m your agent, Thea. Just call me Zara,” a serious-looking woman with a pair of glasses on her nose introduced herself, “I’ve sent you my phone number. You can call me whenever you need me.”
Zara was Kelly’s cousin. She had worked with countless famous stars before.
Cody hired her especially for Thea this time.
Thea smiled and nodded, “Of course. It’s good to see you, Zara.”
Zara nodded, “The company hasn’t assigned you any jobs yet. You can use the time to take a short break. If the group needs you, you can show up in public. But you don’t need to do anything else except that. Understand?”
Zara was pretty calm. Cody had planned Thea’s career for her. She needed to still stay low-key. She had to act humble to win over the audience before casting in a couple of big movies.
Thea nodded cooperatively, “Sure. Rest assured, I will follow the company rules.”
Thea stayed humble even though she was so popular during the entire competition.
Zara could tell that persons like her could easily become successful. No wonder Cody spent so much money and energy on this girl.
She deserved the best treatment from the company indeed.
Zara didn’t know Thea quite well, but now, she started to like her.
Thea spent the following three months at home, playing video games and interacting with her fans.
She had some strict routines every day apart from relaxing and having fun.
She did skin care every day, and she asked Cody to find her a dance teacher, practicing dancing two hours a day. What she learned from the competition was valuable. She learned how to dance and was determined to become even better at it.
Cody felt so proud of her.
After spending so many days at home, Cody finally called her again.
“Come to the company today. I’d like to take you to see a director.”
Thea was so excited. Daisy drove the car to her apartment and took her to the company. Cody was waiting for her in his office.
“The movie Smoke is about the love story of a killer and a girl with autism. The director is determined to make the movie big. I’m talking about Oscar level. Get yourself prepared, Thea. I’m taking you to the audition this afternoon,” Cody smiled as he told Thea.
Thea was thrilled. She knew she would have a lot of competitors who were going to audition for this beautiful movie. But she was still so excited to try her luck.
