Paris’s hands faltered, “Don’t you dare tell him anything!” Her eyes cut like knives as they fixed on the young assistant, “I’ll handle it by myself. If you dare to mention a word to him, Jason, I will fire your ass immediately!”
“Okay… Ma’am.” Jason went pale, “Please don’t be mad, Paris. I was just being stupid. I won’t tell Mr. Dawson anything. I promise!”
Paris frowned as she threw the little mirror in her hand away, “Forget about it. Is she gonna be here soon? I don’t care what way you use, but you need to get that stupid whore to the hotel 4 square. Do you understand?”
Jason swallowed, “Of course.”

When Thea made it to the set, Jason was waiting for her by car. The employees of the crew were maintaining the props for shooting.
Thea looked around as she walked toward the car. She was so excited.
She saw a couple of crew members greet Jason. She thus knew for sure that Jason was not lying. As a result, she was provided with a chance to audition!
“So, you’re Thea Todd, right?” Jason asked with an eyebrow arching.
Thea nodded, smiling brightly, “Yep. You’re Jason, right?”
Jason smiled, “That’s me. Get in the car.”
Thea didn’t have any doubts as she got in his car. She thought Jason only wanted a quiet place to discuss the character with her. However, Jason just started the car directly after she got in. Thea was surprised, becoming alert immediately. “Wait… Why are you starting the car? Where are we going?”
“Don’t be nervous. We’re going to the producer and investor’s hotel right now. That place is not far, but it’s quiet. We’ll be there in a minute,” Jason explained, smiling. “Besides, we’re using the crew’s van. You’re safe.”
This man had got to be a member of the crew to drive their van.
Besides, Thea just saw him talking to other crew members. She thus became less worried.
She cast a glance at Jason’s face through the rear-view mirror, “Jason, have we met somewhere before? You look so familiar.”
Jason laughed, “I don’t think so. But I do have a familiar face to a few people, I guess. A great advantage in this industry.”
And then, he leaned over to the backseat, grabbed a bottle of water, and shoved it in Thea’s hands, “You must be thirsty. Drink some water.”
Thea murmured a thank you and took the bottle. But she never drank it. She was smarter than that.
The more she thought about the whole thing, the more suspicious she became.
And… she was sure that she must have met this Jason somewhere before.
Thea had a rather good memory of people’s faces.
And then, it suddenly struck her that she had actually seen this man on TV before! She saw him on the TV when he was with Paris Dunn! This man was Paris Dunn’s assistant!
Thea’s eyes widened in realization. This must be another trap Paris set up to frame her.
That witch!
Thea wanted to yell at the man to make him stop the car, but she knew it was probably too late now. So she stayed calm and tried to find a chance to do this.
When Thea was straining her brain to think of a way out, Jason was also observing her secretly from the rear-view mirror.
This girl had the body of a devil and the face of an angel. She would have become big if she wasn’t Paris’s enemy.
However, she would only become the toy of those rich and powerful men in this industry after today.
Jason secretly felt bad for her.
The car stopped by a fancy hotel, and Jason opened the door for Thea.
Thea stepped off the car and looked around. No security guards. This was probably the backdoor.
She turned toward Jason and whined, “Jason, would you hold the water bottle for me? I need to fix my shoes.”
“Oh… Of course,” Jason took the water bottle without any hesitation. Thea suddenly held her heavy purse high and smacked it against Jason’s head.
Jason didn’t expect this to happen at all. The purse was heavy as hell, and he just lurched forward, face falling against the concrete.
“Devil punk!” Thea spat as she ran off on her heels, “Trying to set me up? Go back and tell Paris Dunn that she can screw herself!”

“So useless! She’s just a little girl, and you can’t even force her to get into the hotel?” Paris was screaming as she threw a water cup against the wall.
Jason shuddered.
The suite was horribly silent.
“Pa-Paris…” Jason stuttered after a couple of seconds, “Please don’t be mad. That girl’s too alert… I-I don’t even know how she did….”
SLAP!
Paris slapped Jason across his face, “Don’t. Give. Me. Any. Excuses!” Paris hissed.
“I’m so sorry.” Jason was about to cry. He wouldn’t have to tolerate this madwoman if it were not for the contract.
“And… Don’t you ever mention this to Derek,” Paris sneered nastily, “If you dare to tell him anything, I will make sure no one in this industry will hire you after firing your ass!”
“I won’t tell Mr. Dawson anything, Paris,” Jason promised as he covered his face.
The door was almost pushed open on cue. A handsome man walked in. He was clad in a black tailored suit, and he was all tall and muscled.
“Derek…” Paris stood up from her seat, batting her eyelashes, “What brought you here?”
Derek Dawson looked around and frowned, “What is happening here?”
“Nothing,” Paris smiled, “It’s just that the second female lead got too many lines. She’s stealing my thunder… that ugly bitch!”
Derek frowned, “You mean The Good Old Days? You really don’t need to worry about that. The company has the right to decide on the final cut. You will always be the one and only female lead.”
Derek’s voice sounded calm. He didn’t sound like he was particularly fond of this woman. He just wanted to do his job.
Paris was almost clinging her entire body to his, whining. “You’re always so sweet, Derek.” And then, she cast a look at Jason, “I don’t want this assistant anymore. Can you change him?”
