Linford leaned against his chair, smiling, “Paul, go to the police station and bail Freddy out.”
“Why are you bailing him out?” Drew’s eyes flew towards Linford, confused.
“Don’t you realize the police are untrustworthy after what happened earlier? Freddy is an important witness. We can’t leave him in that place. Someone will probably kill him sooner to silence his House up.” Linford’s tone was cold.
“Your assumption is reasonable. I’m going to the police station immediately to bail him out. Bye for now!” Paul left the room quickly.
Drew glanced at Linford and shrugged, “Is Paul good?”
Linford held a file in his hand, lazily raising his eyes to Drew, “I saw him quite talented.”
Linford seldom complimented anyone since he thought almost everyone was an idiot to him. If he said someone was talented, that man had to be the most talented among all the talented people on earth.
Drew snorted, “As if he’s the perfect man. Really? That fuck face?”
Linford was in the mood to annoy Drew, “He’s definitely the perfect man for Fritzi,”
Linford’s eyes fell back on the files, signing them and adding sourness to his best friend’s heart leisurely, “Fritzi will be happy if she ends up marrying him.”
“Do you have to say that to my face?” Drew protested, slamming his hands on the table.
Linford chuckled and shook his head, teasing Drew again, “Should I tell Fritzi to chase you then? Who is a coward?”
“How dare you, Linford Bradley! I’m your best friend! You!…” Drew’s getting angry while looking at Linford’s wide grin. He hastened to storm out of Linford’s office.
“Stay single forever, Drew!” Linford added before his office door was slammed hard.

It only took Miles two days to strike back.
A piece of big news quickly got trending.
The ex-corrupt mayor’s mistress, Melody Wilson, came back from aboard, bringing her children with her. She got arrested for possessing illegal properties the minute she went across the custom.
Everyone’s attention shifted to the case of Cristelle’s father again.
“How did she come back from aboard again? We just visited her foxhole a couple of days ago.” Claire glared at the screen, hissing.
“Someone just has the power to make everyone believe that she just came back from aboard,” Linford shrugged, “But I’m glad that Miles finally started to fall into our trap.”
“You’re saying Miles is the one who found her and made her smear our families?” Claire queried.
Linford only smiled, keeping silent this time.
Melody accepted multiple interviews, admitting that the Bradley House and White House had illegal trades with the Friesley family a long time ago.
She said Isaac Friesley promised the Bradley House a lot of benefits after taking their money. However, after Isaac got caught, the Bradley family just abandoned him without a second thought.
As for Cristelle, she was just a pawn to keep her father sealed in jail about the trades between the two houses.
During this time, the police somehow found the evidence to prove what Melody revealed was true.
The stocks of the Bradley House were thus on the verge of danger again. Walters’ House pulled out their cooperation timely. Other partners also started to get worried.
“Good job! Good. Fucking. Job! I know that arrogant Linford Bradley can’t compete with us! Miles, you go, contact all the allies that want to work with us. We need to take this chance to shorten Bradley’s recovery!” Mr. Johnson was gleeful as he spoke on the phone, “You keep up the good work, and everything I have will be yours!”
Miles smiled faintly as he spoke to the phone. “Thanks for the compliment, Grandpa. But we don’t need our partners anymore. Why don’t we take Bradley House as our own? I don’t want to share this success with those greedy houses.”
Mr. Johnson was still a bit unsure when he heard that, “Are you sure it’s possible for us to take the company by ourselves? Do you really have the power to do that?”
“Of course, Grandpa,” Miles’s tone was quite firm, “You’ve got to trust me.”

“What have you done? Why is Melody Wilson brutally saying that our House was guilty and involved in Isaac Friesley’s case?” Lana screamed as she dashed toward Miles.
Miles pushed her away as if she was some animal, a cold sneer on his face, “You know exactly how Clyde Bradley died! Don’t tell me the White family was innocent because it clearly wasn’t.”
Lana went pale. She wanted to refuse, but she knew Miles was telling the truth. Miles went forward and looked her in the eyes coldly, “You killed Clyde, bitch. This is the painful truth you’ve been hiding all these years!”
“No!” Lana cried, “I didn’t mean to kill him. I really didn’t.”
Miles huffed and left the room as if he was disgusted by Lana’s tears.
Lana cried even louder after Miles was gone.
She just didn’t want him to reveal the truth. The memory of the past came flooding into her head. She had only been a bit hesitant during the rescue. She had never tried to kill him.
But Clyde was dead because of her hesitation.
It had only been a couple of minutes, and wolves had dragged his body away.
It was not her fault. Clyde had only been unfortunate. She didn’t mean to kill him.
She hadn’t wanted Linford to find out the truth among those big House members. She hadn’t wanted Linford to loathe her. She had never meant to kill Clyde. Lana was devastated as she collapsed against the carpeted floor. She still remembered how kind and loving Clyde was to her. She had never meant to harm that man.
And then, she changed her mind. Miles seldom spent the night in this house. She knew this was her chance. Lana wiped her tears dry and went to Miles’s study room.
She wanted to decode Miles’s laptop, but she noticed a camera hidden in a painting facing the desk. So she grabbed an unimportant file and walked out of the room.
Miles had seen everything on his phone in his car. Did Lana change her mind?
“Sir… Should we…” His bodyguard asked.
“It’s okay. She’s too stupid to accomplish anything.” Miles said as he rolled his eyes.
