Lana was surprised as she found Miles was at home when she came back. He even cooked her dinner.
“Why are you home so early today?” Lana was a bit rigid as Miles grabbed her from behind, helping her to slip out of it.
“I finished my job earlier today. So I came back a bit earlier. Why? You don’t want to see me?” Miles teased as he handed Lana’s coat to a maid waiting aside.
Lana was suspicious, but she still shook her head.
“How has the investigation been recent? Did the police find anything?” Miles asked.
Lana hesitated before shaking her head, “No.”
Miles had seen her through. He grabbed a folder from another table and slid it across the table toward Lana, “Your family never trusts me, Lana. It feels awful, to be honest. So, this is the last time I’m helping the White family.” Lana opened the folder eagerly and found all the information about Betty.
Miles’s men had almost figured out who the kidnappers were. At least, they provided a couple of suspects.
Lana finally let out a long breath, “Thank you.”
“You don’t need to thank me. “Do me a favor next time, Lana,” Miles stood up from his chair, “Don’t ask me to help your family next time. I really don’t enjoy being taken as an asshole when I try to help someone.”
With that, he just grabbed his coat and walked out of the mansion.
Lana didn’t have dinner. She went to take a shower in her room and changed into fresh clothes.
She needed to give all the information to Marcos immediately. She had considered calling them, but it was too risky.
Lana also made another decision as she maneuvered her car out of the driveway.
She must keep this a secret from Granny.
Granny never trusted Miles. If she got to know that the information was provided by Miles, she definitely wouldn’t let them use this.
Lana knew the most important thing currently was to act immediately. The longer the whole thing was delayed, the more dangerous Betty would be.

Lana arrived at the gate soon. She hesitated for a couple of minutes and changed her mind. If she told Marcos about it, he would definitely tell their Granny directly.
Telling Yuri first was more efficient. At least she would put the rescue first.
Yuri had been crying all day. Her heart was shattered into pieces by all the bad news she had gotten recently. She didn’t even have the strength to go out when Lana asked her to meet up. But Lana promised that she would get information about Betty. Yuri thus didn’t think too much as she left the mansion.
She met Lana at the backdoor.
“Did you really find something about my baby girl? Did you find Betty?” Yuri cried when she saw Lana.
Lana pulled her into a hug, trying to comfort her, “Don’t cry. Betty will be back soon, I promise. Take this folder. You will know everything after you read it. Just try to discuss this with Marcos before you decide to take any action, okay? I will come up with another idea during this time. Don’t worry, Betty will be fine.”
Yuri took the file instantly. Her tears came out as she gave Lana a quick hug,” Thank you, Lana! Thank you so much!” Lana was the only person who gave her hope during this time.
“Please don’t say that. I’m Betty’s aunt. I just did what I had to do. I’ll help you guys find her. Stop worrying about anything,” Lana patted Yuri’s shoulder, “Just go. Don’t delay it too long.”
Yuri wiped her tears away, “Okay. Thank you. I’m telling Marcos about this information.”
Their Granny didn’t trust any information from Lana as she didn’t believe Miles. Yuri knew Granny would never use anything brought by Lana. She would even prevent them from using it.
Yuri thus decided to keep it a secret from Mrs. White.
Yuri tried to persuade her husband to trust Lana and Miles this time, but Marcos still seemed hesitant.
“Please, Marcos! We need to use everything we get. Even if Miles was involved in this case, he would be a fool if he actively got himself involved. This is the only clue we got to secure Betty. The police didn’t get anything. I can’t stand the disappointment any longer. Please…. We can’t just sit back and do nothing when our daughter is tortured and abused somewhere. Please listen to me. Let’s not tell Granny anything we’ve got.
Let’s just give this to the police. It probably will lead them to Betty’s hiding place.”
Marcos still felt this was probably a trap, but he couldn’t stand the sadness in his wife’s eyes. He didn’t have a choice but to give the folder to the police.
Meanwhile, Lana was also sending her men and using her connections. She didn’t know how fast the police would act. She just hoped that she could find something before it was too late.

Alfred was pretty excited, and Linford could tell from the way he knocked on the door.
“Sir! We got another phone call from Walters. Their representative said his company would love to cooperate with us this time.”
“Tell them that I don’t like working with unreliable people. If they want to cooperate with us, they need to cut off their agreement with Miles Johnson entirely. Or I would never agree to work with them,” Linford was more unhappy than Alfred’s happy mood.
“But… Sir… We’ve already lost plenty during this time. We haven’t even solved the problem afloat. We need every help we can get from a possible ally. Acting tough just doesn’t sound wise in my perspective.” Alfred was worried.
“It’s okay. Just do as I told you,” Linford didn’t change his mind.
Alfred has to obey his boss. He took a deep breath and left.

Mr. Weston had acted quickly when he and Franco got Mrs. White’s signal across the newspaper. However, the rescue they planned was impeded as someone leaked their plan.
Mr. Weston was so furious that he couldn’t even eat any meals. He can’t help but recall when he worked in the secret force. Back then, he had been capable of solving any sudden changes.
