Granny was pretty pissed off after she learned that Lana had just called Miles.
“Are you out of your mind, Lana?” The old lady screamed, “Miles Johnson is a snake! He wishes something bad would happen to our family! You’re doing him a favor by telling him that!”
“But Miles said he would never touch our family. He said his only enemy was Linford Bradley. Why can’t you believe me?”
“You know I’m not doubting you, Lana,” Mrs. White said grimly, “I just don’t believe him. You know how vicious Miles is. You just refuse to believe it because you’re blinded by hatred. Whatever you do, as long as it’s Miles Johnson involved, it is not safe for the family!”
Granny turned to face Yuri and Marcos, “Listen up, you two! If you still want your daughter to come back alive, don’t get Lana involved in this matter. Leave everything to the police.”
“But Granny…” Lana tried to explain.
“Leave. Now!” The old lady growled, pointing at the door. Lana stood there for a second and walked out of the mansion.

Enzo went to Darwin’s house. Drew thus took his mission of sending the babies to school.
“Doc, will you send us to school every day from now on?” Candace asked curiously.
Drew was smiling in the rear-view mirror, “Yep. You prefer your uncle?”
“I prefer you!” Candace answered instantly.
Cody rolled his eyes and shook his head. The car pulled over at school pretty soon. Peter was waiting by the gate. Drew took the babies out of the car, “Why are you waiting here?”
Peter shook his head, “It’s the school’s new rules. All the teachers must wait for the kids of their classes when they come to school.”
Drew’s eyebrow jumped, “I don’t remember things used to be this strict before. Did anything happen?”
Peter looked hesitant to tell him, “I… really don’t know, Mr. Weston. Cody, Candace, let’s get in.”
Cody narrowed his eyes. But he still followed up. Candace was totally unaware of the tension in the air, walking into the gate with her brother happy.
Drew thought for a pause and walked in.
Peter stopped in his track, “Why are you coming in as well, Mr. Weston? Guardians are not allowed to get in during school time.”
“I just want to visit my Mom. I have something to ask her,” Drew smiled.
Peter only remembered at this moment that Drew’s Mom was the principal of the school.
The young teacher nodded silently.
Drew went to Mrs. Weston’s office while Cody and Candace went to their classroom.
He asked about the whole fuss by the gate, and Mrs. Weston told him about the disappearance of Betty White.
Drew stood there for a second and turned around immediately, walking out of the office.
“Hey! Drew! Where are you going? You can’t leak this sensitive information to anyone. It’s supposed to be a secret!” His Mom called behind his back.
Drew only felt extremely scared right now. The school wasn’t safe.
“I won’t tell anyone about this,” the doctor said without looking back, “Candace and Cody are going to take a couple of days off. I’m taking them back home.”
Even though the kid who was kidnapped was from the White House, and the whole thing didn’t seem like it had anything to do with the twins, Drew still felt a bit creeped out.
The school was not safe anymore. He needed to send the twins back immediately.
Drew took the twins back and arrived at Linford’s mansion about thirty minutes later. The twins went to Pop’s room directly.
Franco was happy about Drew’s decision. Things have been really chaotic lately. He didn’t want the twins to go to school at all.
Linford was too strict about the babies’ education. If Pop had a say, he would never send the babies to school during a time like this.
Drew went to Linford’s study room after coming back from school.
“What took you so long?” Linford frowned the minute he saw his best friend.
“I brought the babies back. It’s too dangerous to send them to school,” Drew said as he sat down on the couch, “My Mom just told me that Betty was kidnapped. You know Betty, right? Mrs. White’s great-granddaughter.”
Linford faltered, “Really? How?”
“Mom said Betty went missing in school. They didn’t even find anything on the surveillance footage. The police didn’t even have any clue as of this moment.”
Alfred was confused, “Did the White make themselves any enemies recently?”
Drew shook his head, “You guys don’t remember? Candace got her bag swapped with Betty’s yesterday. Was it really a coincidence?”
Alfred’s eyes were shocked, “So, those kidnappers wanted to kidnap Candace, but they got the wrong kid?”
“Probably,” Linford looked grim, “The White family is powerful, and Mrs. White’s good at maneuvering among the big houses. She seldom gets herself any enemies.”
“Those people are bold. They tried to kidnap Candace. They wanted to use Candace to threaten us!” Alfred looked pissed off.
“Luckily, Drew is fast enough to bring the babies back. Or Candace and Cody would be in danger. We should keep them under our noses starting today,” Linford ordered. And then, he turned to Alfred as if he suddenly remembered something. “Is that journalist still around? That one who’s following us?”
“Yeah,” Alfred nodded, “I believe he’s still watching outside of your mansion, sir.”
“Throw this piece of information at him, so he would be able to dig something big out behind it.”
“That is smart, actually,” Drew smiled, “Alfred! Do it immediately!”

The police still didn’t make any progress two days later. The White House was in an utter panic. They didn’t even receive any calls from the kidnapper. It almost felt like Betty had just evaporated for no reason.
“Is she alright? Those people didn’t hurt her, did they?” Yuri cried miserably.
Marcos tried to calm her down, “It’s okay. Betty will be alright.”
“Granny, what are we gonna do?” Yuri was devastated.
Mrs. White was losing her patience, and her mind was in trouble thinking straight, “I’m visiting Mr. Weston soon. They got connections and forces in the police and FBI. They will be able to help.”
