If the adults showed any impatience, they would be deemed impolite and petty. But the boy suddenly spoke. No one could blame him for anything except being downright honest.
Lana was not happy with what the boy said. But if she started to argue with a five-year-old, things would turn out really ugly.
Miles was furious, but he still held his bride’s hand and nodded, “Excuse us then. Please enjoy your wine and refreshments.”
Linford shook his head as Miles and Lana walked away. He stood up the next second as well. Cristelle and the babies followed him as he walked out of the hall.
Drew and Claire also didn’t want to stay anymore. The group of people thus left the party.
The guests noticed the slight drama, knowing the Bradleys had made their attitude very clear this time.
Miles noticed the look on Lana’s face as he gently patted her arm. “It’s okay, love. Don’t mind them.”
Lana smiled slightly, not saying anything.
Miles remained composed and kept acting like a perfect husband during the party. Everything was just fine. He just couldn’t say how long the Friesley girls would live after this.
The car was driving toward Linford’s villa.
Drew couldn’t hold in his questions anymore, “Claire, how did Miles get to know you?”
“Well…” Claire seemed hesitant, “I met him a couple of years ago in my hometown.” Back then, she had been chased by those dangerous men. She would have been killed if Frank didn’t protect her.
Claire would never forget those eyes of Miles. That man had looked at her as if she was a dead person.
Drew could tell how terrible those memories were to her, so he instantly shut up.
Cristelle reached out and held Claire’s hand, “Things are okay now. You will be fine.” Claire nodded quietly, “I know.”
“What’s with that car behind us? Why does it keep following us? Did Miles send it to follow us?” Fritzi suddenly frowned at the rear-view mirror.
Cristelle and Claire turned to look behind almost at the same time. Claire’s face instantly went red the minute she realized who it was.
Drew frowned, “This car looks familiar. But I can’t remember who’s the owner.”
Alfred cleared his throat, “I believe it is Dr. Watson’s car. I saw him drive to the hotel in that car this morning.”
“It’s Frank’s car?” Drew laughed, “So he also left the party with us?”
Every representative’s attitude showed his family’s attitude.
The Watson family was basically erecting a middle finger at Miles as well. Linford’s eyebrows jumped slightly. He had actually expected this.
They made it to the villa about 20 minutes later.
Before they could sit down, a maid came in and put a letter on Linford’s table, “Sir, Mr. Johnson just sent you a letter.”
Linford cast a look at the letter before shaking his head slightly, “Take it back. I don’t want to read it.”
The maid seemed hesitant. Drew took a step forward, taking the letter and walking over to Linford, “It won’t hurt if you just take a look.”
Linford shrugged. Drew thus opened the envelope.
“Oh… Miles mentioned he wanted to see you alone tomorrow evening at 7 o’clock. He said he wanted to talk to you. Why does he want to see you?”
Linford took off his jacket, “Who knows? I don’t have time for his bullshit.”
Drew tucked his tongue out, “Are you sure? What if he has something really important to tell you?”
“I don’t care,” Linford walked into his study room, “I just don’t want to see his sorry face.”
Frank smiled, “Based on what I know about that man, he probably won’t give up that easily. He will still find a way to approach Mr. Bradley.”
“Based on what I know about Linford, no one can see him if he decides that person is a piece of human trash,” Drew shrugged, “Miles would never be able to rival him.”
Cristelle had to agree. Linford was surprisingly stubborn when it came to things he didn’t want to do. And no one could persuade him either.
They left the city early the next morning. Linford went back to his company immediately. During the two days when he was away, the decision-making was completely left to the board.

Meanwhile, at Pamela’s house, Diego was staying with her because she was about to give birth to their baby.
They both got the invitation from Lana, but Diego had given up the idea of bringing Pamela to the wedding.
However, Pamela somehow learned that Cristelle also went to the wedding that day. She became extremely furious, and she barely ate any food that day.
“Why didn’t you tell me that bitch also went to the wedding?” Pamela screamed like a mad woman.
Diego tried to explain, “You’re about to give birth to the baby soon. I don’t want you to exhaust yourself by going to a city that far away. What if anything happened during our journey, it would break my heart.”
“Bullshit! You didn’t let me go because you didn’t want me to claw that bitch’s eyes out!” Pamela threw her magazine at Diego, “You think I don’t know what you’re thinking? If you showed up that night, Cristelle Friesley would be the butt of a joke! You just didn’t show up because you didn’t want people to judge her! You care about her more than you care about me!”
Diego went silent. No matter how gentle and considerate he acted around this woman, he just couldn’t lie to himself. But a part of his reason for not going was that he didn’t want to get into the conflict between Bradley and the White family.
He was thinking about the bigger picture, but this stupid woman just couldn’t understand!
Diego didn’t want to explain anything anymore. He turned around and was ready to walk away.
“Diego Barnett!” Pamela screeched like a monster, “If you dare to walk out of the door, you don’t need to come back anymore!”
Diego stopped, but he didn’t turn around, “You’re mentally unstable, Pamela. I will talk to you when you become normal.”
And then, he walked out of the room, closing the door behind his back.
“Come back! You bastard! Come back! Argh!” Pamela suddenly clasped her belly with one hand. The sharp pain inside her brought her to sweat.
“Diego… Diego…”
