Chapter 287: Look What You’ve Done

The news of the fire was spread fast and wide by the media. Mrs. White went so anxious after seeing the news. She asked the guards to bring Lana to the parlor. When Lana finally showed up before her, hair messy and eyes puffy, Mrs. White couldn’t contain her rage anymore, “LOOK WHAT YOU’VE DONE!”
Lana’s knees buckled, “Granny… Granny, What’s done has been done. I don’t have another choice now. Why couldn’t you help me get what I want?”
“Get what you want? Are you blind? Can’t you see Linford’s attitude toward you? That man despises you. And he also despises the baby in you! I’m asking you one last time, Lana White. How did you get that baby inside exactly?”
“The baby is his! I’m sure!” Lana clenched her teeth.
“Then why did he deny it so soon if the baby is his? He looked like he was sure that the baby was not his,” Mrs. White knew Linford too well, “It is Linford Bradley who we’re dealing with. You’d better think about the consequences!”
Lana was sure, “I will make him admit it. Mrs. Bradley can only be me.”
Mrs. White could only follow her pace since she was so stubborn, “You better not tell any lies. And you definitely can’t spread Cristelle’s real identity without my order. Or I wouldn’t be able to help. If you want to be Mrs. Bradley, you must listen to me and do as I tell you.”
Mrs. White had made her attitude very clear. Lana was now pregnant with Linford’s child. She would never let any men treat her granddaughter that way.
“What are we going to do now, Granny?” Lana asked.
Mrs. White sighed, “We can only wait until the baby grows bigger. Those people can’t deny it when the second result of the DNA test is out.”
“Ma’am, you’ve got visitors,” a maid suddenly came to the parlor, announcing.
“Let them in,” Mrs. White’s voice carried loud and clear.
Alfred followed the maid and walked in a couple of minutes later.
The assistant bowed slightly, “Ma’am, I’m here to take Miss White to do another DNA test.”

Cody asked to play chess after taking a bath. Darwin couldn’t decline his grandson’s requirements. As anxious as he was, he still agreed to play a couple of rounds with the boy.
Cody used all his chess techniques to stall the time before going to bed.
“Cody, it’s getting quite late. Do you want to go to bed right now? We can still play this tomorrow.” Darwin was so impatient, but he didn’t let it show on his face.
Cody shook his head, “But I want to play with you, Grandpa. Dad and Pop are not as good chess players as you.”
Flattering words always worked for Darwin. He sighed and nodded, “Fine. But Grandpa needs to go to the bathroom for a sec. Would you wait for me?”
“No problem,” Cody nodded. Darwin went to the bathroom instantly and took out his phone, “How is it? Did you get her there? What? When did he leave? Fine. Just don’t expose yourself, okay? Don’t let those journalists know. Take her there and wait for my instruction.”
There?
Where was there?
Cody plastered his ear against the door and strained to listen. He transcribed what Darwin said from word to word and sent it to Linford. When Darwin had walked out of the bathroom, the boy had pretended nothing had happened, sitting by the chess table and wincing at the chess pieces.

Meanwhile, Linford was sitting in his car. He clicked open the message Cody sent him and asked the driver to go to Darwin’s house immediately.
He knew where Darwin liked to hide people. There was a dungeon in his house. Linford suspected Cristelle was probably locked in that place right now.
Cristelle… Wait for me. Don’t be scared. Linford thought. I will be there to save you soon.
Meanwhile, Cristelle was still in a coma. She didn’t even know where she was.
Linford drove toward Darwin’s house directly. It was already getting dark. After Clara had left, Darwin and Tanya were the only people left in the house. Linford had a key. He went to the backyard of the mansion directly, finding the secret tunnel leading toward the dungeon from the cellar. He walked to the end of the tunnel, but he didn’t see Cristelle in the dungeon.
Was she not here?
Where did they keep her?
Linford didn’t waste more time down there, getting back in his car instantly. If Cristelle weren’t in the dungeon, there would only be one place left to be checked out.
Linford didn’t hesitate to call Enzo.
“Linford? Why are you calling me this late?”
“Enzo, I need your help.”
Linford repeated his situation and asked, “Could you help me find her?”
Enzo went silent on the other side of the phone. It took him a while to finally ask, “But her father really was that person. Are you sure you still want her?”
“I can’t live without her,” Linford meant it, “Besides, those people are hiding the cause of Clyde’s death. Don’t you want to figure out the truth with me?”
Enzo sighed softly on the other side of the phone, “Fine. I’ll help you find her.”
Linford knew he could be assured once he had Enzo’s promise.
After hanging up the phone, Linford told the driver to keep driving.
Lana was taken to Drew’s hospital. Drew’s eyes were filled with contempt when he saw Lana, “Follow me.”
Drew knew it was rude if he didn’t even try to make some small talk happen when they walked in the corridor, but he just didn’t want to.
“Get in, Doctor Watson is in the room,” Drew said blankly when they arrived at a small room.
Lana walked in without saying anything.
“Mr. Weston, you got a phone call from Mr. Linford,” Alfred ran over.
Drew took the phone and walked to the corner, “Yes? You haven’t found her yet?”
“I suspect Pop is also part of this. Could you go investigate the whole thing for me?” Linford said calmly.
“No problem. Oh, by the way, I’ve got Lana here, and Doctor Watson is doing a DNA test for the baby in her belly right now. Linford, tell me the truth. Are you worried?”
