Chapter 254: I Believe You Can Make The Business Big

Book:TEMPTING The Mysterious CEO Published:2024-5-31

Cody really didn’t like this kind of woman. She had no respect for people at all.
She treated kids like little animals.
Besides, if she liked kids so much, why didn’t she get pregnant herself? So fake!
Cody rolled his eyes and went back to the couch, starting to watch the cartoons again now that Candace had been saved.
However, Lana followed him, “You’re such a cool guy, Cody.”
Cody didn’t even bother to spare her a look, “I know.”
“I brought some desserts for you guys. Do you want to eat them now?”
“Thanks,” Cody said flatly.
How many times did she want to mention her desserts?
Franco went downstairs at the time.
“Geez! Lana! You’re finally back,” Pop looked genuinely happy as he saw the young lass, “You’re taller. And you are even more beautiful now.”
Lana dashed toward the old man and gave him a hug, “It’s good to see you again, Pop. I missed you so much!”
Cody let out a breath. She finally left him alone.
Lily walked out of the kitchen at the moment, “Mr. and Mrs. Bradley, the dinner is ready.”
“Oh my! Lily! Long time no see! When did you come back?” Lana smiled as she waved at Lily dramatically.
“Yep,” Lily also didn’t want to say too many words to Lana. She knew this girl too well.
Lana didn’t seem to be mad. She opened the boxes of desserts during the meal, making sure everyone could reach for them.
The dinner continued smoothly, yet the air was still a bit dense.
Lana could tell the babies didn’t like her, no matter how friendly she appeared to be. She even tried to be Cristelle’s friend. But Linford acted like he didn’t want her to get too close to his wife.
When the dinner was finally over, it was almost 9 pm.
Lana wanted to stay and play puzzles with Candace. But Cody suddenly showed up, pulling a face, “Aunt Lana, it’s getting quite late now. Candace needs to go to bed. She’s going to her friend’s house tomorrow. She must go to bed early.”
Candace didn’t want to take a bath right now, but Cody mentioned her date tomorrow. So she collected all the puzzle pieces back into her box again, “Aunt, it’s late. Maybe next time. You can go back home now.”
Kids were usually the most straightforward. Especially when they were facing someone they didn’t like, they would never say anything nice out of politeness.
Lana forced out a smile as she pinched Cody’s cheek, “Cody, you don’t like me, do you?”
Cody hated it when people pinched his cheek as if he was just a stupid little kid.
His face fell the moment Lana’s fingers touched his skin. Lana noticed the murderous look in the boy’s eyes, and she flinched.
Was she just intimidated by a small boy?
He was so small, yet he had a strong vibe. Lana felt sour. Linford’s babies were exactly like him.

Linford walked Lana out of the elevator. Lana wanted to stay for the night, but none of the Bradley family showed any intention of letting her stay. It would be quite awkward if she asked.
Why did these people hate her so much? Did she do anything wrong? Lana couldn’t understand it.
When she walked out of the house, she was still sulking.
****
Candace couldn’t wait to visit Amy and Thomas today. But Cristelle got some business to handle today, so she couldn’t go with the babies.
Pop said he would pick the babies up from Amy’s house so they could have dinner at Mr. Weston’s. Cristelle agreed.
Pop was always glad to take care of his great-grandchildren as long as he had the chance.
Cristelle didn’t think too much as she drove all the way to the studio.
Jasper seemed extremely glad to see her again, “You’ve thought it through, Cristelle? You don’t want to end the contract anymore, do you?”
Cristelle shook her head and took out a file from her purse, “Jasper, I’m actually here to tell you that I’ve ended the contract with Diego. From now on, we are not partners anymore. This is Diego’s signature. I believe you’re quite familiar with it. I brought it here because I think you probably want to take a look.”
Jasper went pale immediately. He tried to control his temper as he took the contract, “Did you really find him?”
Cristelle sighed, “I did. To be honest, I’ve never expected the boss to be Diego Barnett.”
She was disappointed that Jasper had lied to her.
Jasper sounded sad, “I didn’t have much money when I began the business. I didn’t dare to tell you the truth because I thought you would probably run away. Diego said he could help. And the only condition of the investment was not to tell that he was also involved. So…”
Cristelle suddenly cut his words, “You don’t need to say that anymore. I know what you’re trying to say,” Anyways, he always thought he was innocent.
Cristelle pulled out a pile of drafts, “These are the drafts I promised you. Just use it as you want. I won’t be working here from now on. The studio is completely yours. I believe you can make the business big.”
“No! You know I can’t do this without you, Cristelle! You’re the reason for me starting the whole business. No one can ever replace you. Please, Cristelle. Please stay. I’m begging you!”
But Cristelle wouldn’t stay no matter what. She stood up from her chair, “I’m sorry, Jasper.”
Maybe she should have ended this a long time ago. Her babies wouldn’t have been in danger if she had never started working with him.
“How could you be so cruel, Cristelle?” Jasper shot up from his chair. The muscles on his face twitched.
“I told you before, Jasper,” Cristelle didn’t want to expose him directly, so she said seriously, “I will do anything for the welfare of my babies.”
If Jasper weren’t the one who harmed Candace and Cody, she probably wouldn’t mind staying at this studio.
But he surely could understand what she was hinting at if he was the culprit.
“Give me the real reason! Have you fallen in love with Linford Bradley? Are you leaving me behind because you want to be with him?” Jasper cried. The way he said that was weird. He acted as if he was Cristelle’s boyfriend or lover.
