Things would be tricky if Enzo and Cody went lost on the sea.
Linford put down the telescope, “Are you sure you’ve got the true information? I mean, Enzo could let out some false information to confuse his enemies.”
“I don’t think so. The inner cold could only decipher the information he let out. Those kidnappers wouldn’t even know what that means if they happened to get the message. Enzo must be around this area.”
Jacob was tall and strong. He was Enzo’s military assistant and had worked for Enzo for so long. Linford trusted him.
“Team A. Any discovery?”
The helicopter above their heads answered through the speaker in a tinny voice, “None so far, Boss.”
Jacob nodded at the soldiers on the ship, “How about you?”
“We haven’t seen anything, Boss.”
Not spotting anything was actually a piece of good news. Corpses tended to float on the surface of the sea in such hot weather. It at least proved that Cody and Enzo were still alive.
But if they were trapped somewhere on the island, they must find them as fast as possible. Without food and water, they would die in hot weather like this.
Linford went to the office and examined the map.
“Boss, should we extend the range a bit?”
Jacob spoke through the speaker, “Extend the area now. Enzo will never give us the wrong information.”
“Yes, sir,” the helicopter flew off.
Linford’s finger skimmed across the map and then stopped at a black spot on the map, “What is this?”
Jacob leaned forward and saw a black spot. It didn’t look like it was on the map originally. Enzo must have painted it on the map.
Jacob grew suspicious instantly. He grabbed the map and asked a soldier, “Where is this place?”
“I’m searching for it right now, sir.”
A couple of minutes later, the soldier answered, “It’s a nameless island. But it’s always under seawater. It will only surface every four or five years. And it will only stay out for about ten days. After that, it will sink into the ocean again. Why would Officer Bradley spot that?”
Linford shook his head.
Islands like that were Enzo’s favorite.
“Go find the island on the GPS. Try to check out if it’s still surfacing at the moment.”
The result came out soon. The little island was about 6 miles away. Jacob thus took the whole team to move in that direction.
Linford was worried.
Could Cody even make it there? He was just a little baby.
What if anything happened to him on their journey?
“Hey, Linford. You don’t need to worry,” Jacob smacked Linford’s shoulder, “Enzo told me more than one time that his nephew was the toughest little kid he’s ever met. He said the boy was smart and fast and that he would become a perfect soldier who’s even better than us in the future. Enzo seldom compliments anyone with such words. I believe the boy will be fine.”
Linford shook his head, smiling faintly.
Jacob looked at Linford, feeling quite sad. Linford was probably the sharpest soldier he’d ever seen. Unfortunately, he was not in the army anymore.
The helicopter almost arrived at the island at the same time as the boat. Jacob asked Linford to stay on the boat, but Linford refused to listen.
He fastened a knife to his belt and jumped into the water without any hesitation.
He knew he must save his son and his brother.
“Boss, it will rain heavily tomorrow. And the island will sink by then. We don’t have much time left.”
Jacob nodded. They must complete the rescue as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Cody was hiding in the bush with his uncle. The plant on the island was rich, covering their trace perfectly.
Both Cody and Enzo didn’t expect to encounter attackers on their way back.
If Enzo didn’t act quite fast, they would have died right now.
“Where are they? Can you see them?” Cody gestured at his uncle.
Enzo was holding a machine gun. He just snatched this from one of the attackers. There were a total of 10 of them, and each of them was a trained veteran. Enzo made a trap and killed two of them.
Now, there were eight left.
Enzo could tell the tide had grown higher since yesterday. He knew the island would sink soon. If the rescue team still couldn’t find them by tomorrow, they would need to kill all the attackers and take their ship to leave.
It was quite difficult.
“They’re definitely searching for us right now. We can’t let the bad guys find us.” Enzo gestured back.
He knew he needed to make it out of there alive, no matter how hard it was. At least Cody needed to get out.
RUMBLE!
A huge noise brought Cody to shiver.
Those attackers were bombing the forest because they couldn’t find them. The island was pretty small. If they started a forest fire, Cody and Enzo would both be dead.
The thick smoke got into Cody’s nose, but the boy clenched his teeth and didn’t make any sound. He was holding back his cough so hard that his eyes started to go red.
The boy was tough…
But if they kept hiding here, the fire would get them sooner or later. Enzo looked up resentfully and made up his mind.
“Uncle… What are you gonna do?” Cody asked nervously.
Enzo looked at the boy, trying to calm him down, “Don’t come out no matter what you hear. If you see any snakes or insects, just poke them with the knife I gave you, okay?”
Cody suddenly had bad feelings, “Where are you going, Uncle?”
Enzo smiled, “I’m going out to see them. Remember what I just told you. Don’t go out no matter what you hear.”
And then, he just walked out of the bush.
Cody wanted to catch up, but he contained himself. He knew he should listen to whatever Enzo told him at the moment like this. Enzo was trying to stall those bastards.
He was stalling them with his life.
Cody felt both touched and complicated. Enzo said Linford Bradley was gonna come here to rescue them. Cody believed everything Enzo said, so Linford Bradley was probably on his way.
But what took that man so long?
If he showed up slower, both he and his uncle would probably die.
Wasn’t Linford Bradley afraid of losing his dearest brother and his cutest son?
How long would it take him exactly?
And then, Cody suddenly heard a shout.
It was Enzo’s voice!
