At this moment, a message burst in. It was from Jasper.
“The deal with Mr. Walker has been settled. [Victory hand emoji]”
Cristelle’s brows raised slightly as she saw the message.
Right… Jasper.
The media started to report those rumors about her and Candace yesterday afternoon. She happened to bring up Candace’s injury to him at that time. Could it be him?
Cristelle shuddered as the idea emerged. No… It’s impossible. Jasper was not a person like that. How could she think about him that way?
It must be someone else.
“Mom! Mom!” Candace suddenly wriggled in the bed in sleep, her forehead covered by a cold sweat. She looked like she was having a nightmare.
Cristelle grabbed her little hand immediately, “It’s okay, honey. Don’t be afraid… Mommy’s here for you.”
“Mommy…” Candace refused to let Cristelle go, mumbling in her dream, “Mommy.”
It broke Cristelle’s heart to see her baby girl act like this. She wiped the sweat on her forehead, “Don’t be scared, honey. Mommy’s here.”
Candace was so scared that she suddenly started to cry. And then, she woke up. Cristelle held her daughter in her arms and left a kiss on her forehead, trying to calm her down. Her poor daughter must have suffered a lot when she was away.
Cristelle felt extremely guilty.

Meanwhile, in Franco’s house. Linford brought his men to take Giselle to the dungeon under his mansion.
“Why are you taking her away? You don’t even trust me now?” Pop seemed mildly pissed off as he realized what Linford was doing. He wanted to interrogate Giselle himself. He was so angry that this woman dared to lay her finger on his great-granddaughter.
Linford’s face didn’t betray his own thoughts. He didn’t trust Pop right now, but he only said, “You’re too old for this, Pop. Besides, your place is clean. I don’t want to spoil it.”
Franco would never fail to guess his grandson’s real attention, “Just don’t kill her.”
Linford nodded, “Don’t worry. I’m not stupid. By the way, could you please go visit Candace more frequently? I don’t want Darwin Bradley to show up too often in the hospital.”
Franco’s face fell, “Darwin Bradley is your father.”
Linford shrugged, leaving the house and climbing into his car without saying anything.

Giselle was brought to the dungeon 30 minutes later. Drew also brought Cindy to Linford’s place. The two sisters looked extremely alike. It was quite hard to tell the difference.
“If you don’t tell the truth, I promise you that both your sister’s and you lives and careers will be ruined,” Linford sat on the couch. He didn’t have any expression on his face as he said that.
Giselle glared at him, “What the heck is this? Do you really think you’re some sort of King who has the right to lock people up and interrogate them? I’m gonna report you to the police! I’m gonna call the police!”
“Fine. Go call the police,” Drew folded his arms before his chest, “Call the police, and we will take this to court. And I assure you that you will spend the next ten years in prison.”
Giselle went pale.
“Who sent you, Giselle?” Linford looked down at her from the couch, “Tell me the truth, or you will suffer.”
Giselle clenched her teeth, “No one sent me here to do anything. You’re delusional. No one expected the chest to fall. I’ve also been hurt. If I really want to hurt Candace, why would I hurt myself as well?”
“Break her leg, now,” Linford didn’t want to waste his time with these people.
Two huge men walked out of the shadow, approaching Giselle slowly.
“What… What are you trying to do?!” Giselle yelled in fear.
Cindy fell to her knees before Linford, “Please! Please! Mr. Bradley… Please let my sister go. She didn’t mean to do that.”
“You almost broke my daughter’s leg. This is just a light punishment. I only do what is fair,” And then, Linford turned toward the two towers of man, “Do it.”
Giselle screamed as she felt the sharp pain in her leg. With a crack of her bones, she fell limply to the floor.
“Giselle!” Cindy cried as she crawled toward her sister.
“Tell the truth, or we will break your other leg,” Drew stared down at her coolly, “Candace is so little. And you almost crippled her. How could you do that to a little girl? You deserve this!”
“Giselle! What are you waiting for? Tell them the truth, or they will really break both of your legs!” Cindy shouted at her sister.
A cold sweat covered Giselle’s face, “I am telling the truth! No one ever sent me to do anything! What else do you expect me to say?”
“Break the other leg!” Linford ordered coldly.
“You! This is illegal! Ah!!” The bodyguard approached her again with an iron rod. Before he could touch Giselle, Giselle started to scream like a pig.
“Stop! Don’t hit her! Just hit me! Break my leg! It’s all my fault. I should’ve kept an eye on Candace. I should have protected her,” Cindy begged bitterly on the floor, “Mr. Bradley… Please… Please let her go!”
“Stop pretending! You’re so fucking fake! Get out of here!” Giselle spat, “You’re disgusting me.”
“Do it,” Linford’s tone was impatient.
“Don’t! Don’t hit her!” Cindy jumped on Giselle’s body, getting hit by the rod instead.
Drew seemed a bit nervous, “What should we do now, Linford?”
Linford didn’t have much patience for people like that, “If she wants to get punished for her sister instead, just break their legs together. We’re not in a rush.”
“I was the one who did it! Get her out of this!” Giselle screamed, “How could you do this to her?!”
Drew frowned, “You did what?”
“I… I didn’t.” Giselle only realized what she had just said at the moment, looking away instantly.
“Giselle… You’ve been caught. Why are you still hiding?” Cindy sobbed, “Just tell them who sent you so we can get out of this.”
“You believe these people? Are you out of your fucking mind?” Giselle spat, “Stop pretending that you care about me! I don’t trust you!”
Linford started to get tired of them, standing up from the couch, “Do you really think I can’t get you in jail if you deny it till the end? Try me.”
Drew added, “If you refuse to give that person out, we will find out who it is eventually. Giselle, this is your last chance. Shutting it out will only do you harm.”
“I don’t have time for this drama. I’ll just leave it to you. Break the other leg of hers if she still refuses to tell the truth,” Linford ordered.
Drew nodded, “I know what to do.”
