Cody nodded, “Finding the cause is important.” He took a look at his clock before turning to Cristelle, “Mom, we’ve got near to the very center of the island. I’m afraid we won’t have any signal tomorrow. Guess we can’t FaceTime that often after this.”
Cristelle frowned faintly, “Will it be safe?”
Cody smiled, “It’s okay. We’ll go back after the adventure in the center.”
“Oh… Okay then,” Cristelle sighed, “Just protect yourself and don’t wander around alone in the forest, okay?”
“Okay, Mom,” The boy smiled, “You also take care of yourself, okay? Love you.”
“Love you, too, honey.”
Cody hung up the phone.
“Where’s the boy at? Why did it look so dark?” Jasper asked curiously.
Cristelle pulled her phone back, “Oh… He’s hiking with his uncle. I don’t even know where he is right now.”
Jasper frowned, “I heard about the oldest son of the Bradley family. They said he’s a tough figure, and he’s got a lot of enemies. Are you sure the boy would be safe with him?”
Enemies?
Cristelle had never thought about that. She took a pause and said, “I think it’ll be okay. Enzo is a responsible uncle.”
“Guess it will be fine if both you and Cody trust him,” Jasper murmured.
Cristelle peeled an apple for him before standing up from the chair, “It’s getting late. You woke up quite early today. You must be tired. I think I should go. ”
“Okay, be safe,” Jasper tried to touch her hand, but Cristelle flinched, “I will. See you tomorrow.”
Jasper smiled, gripping the phone under his pillow. He had secretly recorded every moment they spent alone since Cristelle walked into his ward.
After Cristelle walked out of his ward, he made a post on Twitter instantly and deleted it a couple of seconds later, pretending that he exposed something he shouldn’t have let the public know accidentally.
And then, his post was screenshotted and got trending.
The attention Cristelle received was generated from people’s curiosity toward Linford. Linford was the biggest tycoon in the city, and he seldom showed his face in public. He had exposed his face in public two times, all because of Cristelle. Some people had thought their story was like some real-life romantic novel where the rich and hot CEO fell in love with an ordinary girl.
Now that Cristelle’s secret relationship with Jasper Johnson was exposed, people’s imagination was thus boosted tremendously.
Some media accounts on the internet wanted to write something about this love triangle, but most of them were forced to shut up by the platform.
The power of money can be huge sometimes.
Jasper noticed the trend of his post was gone in a couple of minutes. He let out a sarcastic smile. He didn’t care if it was trending or not. His purpose had been fulfilled.
So he switched off his phone and closed his eyes.

“What the heck was that?” Linford looked extremely pissed off as he asked Alfred.
Alfred was sweating, “Cristelle’s secretly protected by our men. I don’t think other people got those photos. Mr. Johnson must be the one who took them.”
“Really?” Linford smiled darkly, “Send all those photos to Cristelle.”
Linford refused to take this shit. If Jasper Johnson dared to do that, he would make him fall completely.
But if Cristelle couldn’t tell his purpose from that, Linford wouldn’t even know what to say anymore.
“Do you need me to do anything else, sir?”
“Find out where that jellyfish came from. I need you to investigate the whole accident thoroughly.” Linford was quite scared when he was angry.
“Of course,” Alfred left his office in pain while remembering the past.
Since Clyde passed away, Linford had seldom let out his true emotion. But Cristelle always managed to make Mr. Bradley lose control so easily. Nevertheless, it seemed like Linford was quite serious about this relationship.

Cristelle touched the side of her pillow naturally when she woke up the following day. But she couldn’t feel her daughter’s warm body, and that fact made her upset.
She opened her eyes and grabbed her phone. Fritzi had sent her a column of pictures. In those pictures, she was taking care of Jasper. They were laughing and talking.
Cristelle called Fritzi immediately, “How did you get those photos?”
Fritzi sounded surprised, “You didn’t see them on Twitter yesterday? They were trending, but the trend disappeared after a couple of minutes. Cristelle… Are you in a relationship with Jasper?”
Cristelle fell asleep after returning from the hospital and taking a bath last night. The fact Fritzi just told her was overwhelming.
“No! We’re just friends. Those people are making things up.”
“Does Mr. Bradley know this?” Fritzi asked again.
Cristelle shuddered, thinking about that, “I… I don’t know if he….”
If he got to see those photos, he would probably go mad, come to capture her, and lock her up for the rest of her life, maybe.
She had made a promise, after all.
Cristelle shuddered, thinking about the look in his eyes when he left the hospital yesterday. She could tell he had been suppressing his anger.
“What…? How come you don’t know? Aren’t you guys together this whole time?” Fritzi continued asking.
Cristelle sighed, “Well… I’m actually still in another city.” She thus told Fritzi about the accident that happened during the shooting.
“Anyway, Jasper got stung because of me. I won’t go back until he gets well.”
Fritzi sighed, “Guess things won’t be that easy for Mr. Bradley.”
Cristelle frowned, “What do you mean?”
Fritzi laughed awkwardly, “Nothing… I’ll take it to you when you come back.”
“Sure. See you.”
“See you.”

Cristelle went to the hospital directly after hanging up the phone. Jasper recovered pretty fast. They had breakfast together.
Jasper’s assistant came to send him his phone after breakfast. Jasper switched on his phone and pretended to be panicked, “Oh my god. Cristelle, I’m so sorry.” He showed the picture to Cristelle, looking at her apologetically, “I don’t even know how they got these pictures. I just got my phone today. Those people are mad. How could they just make things up like that?”
