Chapter 113: Who Cares About Her?

Betty sniffed and approached the boy, “I … I’m sorry.”
Cody was sitting on Linford’s lap, “Are you gonna repeat bad things about my sister?”
Betty shook her head, tears rolling down her cheeks, “I’ll never say anything about your sister or your Mom again.”
She was utterly scared today. She had thought she would really lose her tongue when the knife got in her mouth.
Ann held the girl in her arms, “Your great-grandson pushed Betty and Tylor into the pond. Luckily, someone was around to save them. If he got one minute late, God knows what would happen.”
She was suddenly trying to shift blame now.
Cody wanted to say something back, but Linford held him in, a smirk on his lips, “You’re right, Mrs. White. The kindergarten is quite big, yet Mrs. Weston left it unguarded. No one would even come out to stop the fight. Aunt Weston, I remember this place was better when I was a student here.”
Linford shifted the topic skillfully.
The White House and the Bradley house used to be quite close. But they hadn’t had any business together for more than ten years. As a result, their relationship was quite fragile. Mrs. Weston knew it very well. So she stepped forward, “This is our fault. We should have more teachers watching over the kids when playing. But I can promise you the pond is shallow. It won’t cause any accidents even if the babies fall in.”
Ann was a bit pissed off by how they secretly covered each other. But she couldn’t retaliate as she knew Linford was stubborn.
She thus let out a fake laugh, “Your babies are cute, Linford. When will you marry their Mom?”
She meant to tell everyone that even though Cody and Candace were Bradley’s, their Mom still appeared as Linford’s secret woman. If she was not an official wife, then it was not other people’s fault to talk about her.
Linford crept a huge smirk, “You don’t need to worry about that, Ma’am. Cristelle is still my wife and my babies’ mother even though we haven’t officially married. Other people should never gossip about that. Am I right?”
Ann failed to humiliate them. She was so angry deep inside, but she still needed to sustain her elegant posture.
This Linford boy had never been scared of her since he was young. Other kids tended to avoid her, but he had never shown any fear before her. The two houses had fallen out because of the breakup between Linford and Lia.
Ann still blamed Linford for that.
“You have such a fierce grandson, Franco,” Ann carried Betty in her arms and stood up, “Since the problem has been solved, I think I should go.”
Franco also stood up from his seat, “Ann, why don’t you come over to my place to have a cup of tea? We haven’t talked for a while.”
Ann looked over her shoulder and smiled coldly, “I don’t think it’s necessary, Franco. We’ve had enough portions from the conversation today.”
With that, she took her family, and Mr. Wayne also stood up from his chair, smiling, “You don’t have to ask her, Franco, Ann can be quite stubborn sometimes. Why don’t you go grab a drink with me?”
Tim went forth, “Grandpa, then what should Tylor do?”
“Bring him back home, and he doesn’t need to go to school for the next couple of days. He can wait until the day he leaves this country,” Mr. Wayne sounded pissed off, “Go now!”
Tim didn’t shut his mouth hastily, taking his little boy out of the office.
Linford turned to Mrs. Weston, “Mrs. Weston, please don’t mention any of this to Cristelle.”
“Why?” Cody looked up.
Linford turned his face to his son, smiling, “I’ll explain it to you in the car later.”
Cody nodded and stopped asking.
Mrs. Weston shook her head, “What happened today will become big news in days. Cristelle will know about it sooner or later.”
Linford arched an eyebrow, “Get it. I’ll tell this to her myself.”
“Okay. I’ll tell the kids to be silent about what happened today.”
Joe and Peter had seen enough today. The members of the biggest houses in this city had shown up in this narrow office. This kindergarten was different from normal ones. And small frictions among kids could stir a business war.
Drew had heard about the whole thing before Linford took the babies to him. He felt heartbroken as he cleaned those scratches on Candace’s face.
“It broke my heart to see these scratches on Candace’s pretty face. Luckily, there won’t be any scars. It should be fine in a few days. Remember to use the ointment I gave you, and don’t touch them no matter how itchy they get later.”
Candace nodded as she heard what the doctor said. She also brought Amy with her to do a checkup. Amy didn’t hurt anywhere. When it was Cody’s turn, the boy simply shook his head, “I’m fine.”
Drew grabbed him anyway, “You’re fine? You’ve got scratches on your neck. Is that girl a cat? Her Mom doesn’t trim her nails?”
Cody rolled his eyes, “That woman. Who cares about her?”
Drew laughed his tears out, “Geez, you’re Linford Bradley’s son indeed.”
Cody had the full potential to be just like his CEO dad in the future.
“His son?” Cody grimaced as if he had just heard something disgusting. Linford rolled his eyes. This boy needed to be disciplined.
Drew leaned forward to Cody. “Cody, what happened to your tummy?” Drew lifted the boy’s t-shirt and exclaimed. The boy’s tummy was covered in bruises.
“Is it Tylor?” Linford’s face darkened as he glanced at his son. He was so angry that the veins on his temple popped. The boy just didn’t tell everyone that he had also been hurt because he didn’t want to look weak. What a brat!
Linford thought for a while, deciding not to hurt the boy’s pride. He thus hummed to the doctor, “Check his other body parts as well.”
“I’m okay. You don’t have to check on me,” Cody protested immediately, not wanting to lower his pride.
