Since Franco had shown up, Linford suddenly lost all his patience. Someone must have called Franco here, thinking the old man might be kind enough to save Marcos and Tim. Linford hated being manipulated. He would make those rats pay.
Cody liked to be in control. He thought for a while, saying, “We should cut off their tongues. So they can’t badmouth anyone for the rest of their lives.”
The room fell silent. No one expected the boy to be so decisive.
Linford’s voice was cold, “Did you guys hear that? Do you want to do it by yourselves, or should I send my man to do it?”
Marcos and Tim’s knees buckled when they heard that. They thought Linford wouldn’t take it seriously. But he sounded too determined right now.
“Linford,” Franco started to stop him.
“It doesn’t matter, Pop. Let Cody deal with it,” Linford bumped Cody into his arms, “He can do whatever he wants.”
It was the first time Cody thought this man had finally acted like a protective father. So the boy nodded, “I want to cut off their tongues, and I don’t want to hear the word ‘bastard’ ever again.”
“Mr. Bradley! Tylor is just a boy. You can’t do this to him!” Tim begged. He had thrown his pride away.
Marcos also sounded scared, “Mr. Bradley, Betty was just a baby. You can’t do this to her! It’s illegal.”
When Franco arrived, they also called the seniors of their families secretly to save the day.
Cody refused to let it slide, “Are you serious? She’s been abusing my sister in school! I want to cut their tongues off!”
“I agree,” Linford said calmly.
The room full of people fell silent. Mrs. Weston looked at Linford worriedly. Joe and Peter frowned at the same time. They couldn’t be sure if Mr. Bradley was being serious or just joking.
Franco shook his head, knowing he wouldn’t be able to change Linford’s idea.
Tim and Marcos went completely pale. The business of the Daicom Corporation had not been entirely clear in the old days. They knew Linford was capable of doing things like that.
Linford suddenly called out, “Alfred, knife.”
“Yes,” Alfred left.
A tall man entered the office almost instantly, holding a knife in his hand, “Mr. Bradley?”
Linford lowered his gaze and asked his son, “Which one do you want to start with first?”
Cody pointed at Betty. He sounded furious, “Start with her! She has a big mouth!”
Linford nodded, and the knife-holding guy stepped forward, smiling at Marcos nastily.
“Excuse me.”
Betty started to scream. Tears were all over her face.
Marcos thought Linford wasn’t being serious as he said that. He didn’t expect this to really happen. He protected his daughter in his arms, his forehead covered in a cold sweat, “Wh-what are you gonna do to my daughter? Don’t touch her! Mr. Bradley! Please don’t touch my daughter! We can still discuss it! Stop doing this! She’s scared! YOU’RE BREAKING THE LAW!”
Linford didn’t even bother to look up, “It doesn’t matter. I’ll take all the responsibility.”
That man tried to grab Betty’s arm. But Marcos blocked the knife with his hand. The knife left a red mark on his hand immediately.
Betty was howling and crying. She didn’t look like a little princess anymore. “This is murdering! It’s illegal!” Marcos screamed at the top of his lungs, “Sir Bradley, Are you not gonna stop them? Are you gonna watch your grandson murdering my little girl?”
Franco wanted to say something, but Linford cut him off, “Please stay out of this, Pop. You know you can’t change my mind.”
Franco shook his head and sighed deeply.
Even Franco didn’t dare to say anything, not to mention Mrs. Weston and other people.
Tylor watched as that guy peeled Betty out of Marcos’ grip. The tip of the knife was thrust into her mouth. Tylor’s knees started to buckle. The boy didn’t even dare to make any sound as he cried.
Betty screeched. Marcos was guarding his daughter with his life.
These people were serious.
Tim had always been a coward. He knelt in front of Franco with a thud, “Sir Bradley! Sir Bradley! Please! The three houses have been friends for ages. Are you really gonna throw our friendship away? Please let us go. Tylor will never say anything about Linford’s babies and wife anymore.”
Franco shook his head, “But Linford won’t listen to me.”
Tim went rigid for a while and then crawled toward Linford, “Linford! Please! Please let Tylor go. He’s just a baby. He doesn’t know what’s right or wrong.”
Tim was even a bit older than Linford, but now he crawled at his feet, completely humbled.
Linford didn’t even bother to look down, “I don’t have a say on this. It’s completely up to my son.”
Cody didn’t flinch. He stared at the man coldly, “Tylor kicked my sister when she fell in the mud. He said my Mom is a bad woman. I won’t forgive him.”
“It hurts! Stop!” Betty screamed as the tip of the knife got in her mouth.
Tylor burst into a howling cry. He was so scared that he peed himself.
Franco covered Candace’s eyes. Cody was the only one who stared directly at Betty. He even looked a bit cruel.
Joe and Peter exchanged a look. Cody wouldn’t grow into a sociopath, would he?
Betty cried louder. Marcos’s arms and clothes were covered in red. They looked like a mess.
Candace frowned as she saw that. She jumped off Franco’s arms, running off to her brother and father, shaking her head anxiously and telling them to stop.
Cody frowned, “Candace, you’re being silly. I know you’re a sweet girl, but they will bully you again if you don’t let them pay any price this time.”
Tim finally found someone who would save them. He crawled toward Candace, “Candace, let Tylor and Betty go, okay? I’ll buy you so many candies if you let them go.”
Candace was a bit scared of this man. But she still went to grab Cody’s hand. Betty and Tylor looked miserable. It was too cruel to cut off their tongues.
Linford sighed and picked up Candace as well with another arm, “Are you sure you want to let them go, honey?”
