He thrashed at the man with both of his hands, but he couldn’t even get him. Finally, he was so pissed off that he buried his teeth into Linford’s flesh.
Linford groaned and finally let him go.
“Why are you biting people all the time? You’re just like your Mom.”
Cristelle gave him a weird look. Why did he have to get her involved in this war? Candace went to Linford’s apartment when they got home. Cody went directly into his room. He had been obsessed with that handgun since the day Franco gave it to him. Cristelle made the babies’ favorite dishes. Linford brought Candace back when the dinner was ready. The family of four sat beside the table as usual.
“I’m not hungry. I’m just bringing Candace back,” Linford suddenly said, standing up from his seat.
Candace wouldn’t agree to this. She grabbed his hand, forcing him to sit back.
Linford put a hand on top of her head, smiling, “Princess, Daddy’s really not hungry, but I’ll stay until you finish your meal.”
Candace couldn’t understand why he didn’t want to eat anything, but she still nodded hesitantly.
Cody didn’t notice what was happening. He finished his meal quickly. He still wanted to play with that gun for a little while before going to bed. Cristelle also didn’t give many reactions. She just sat by the table and started to eat.
Linford felt a bit disappointed seeing her reaction, but he refused to say anything.
When they finished their meal, Linford finally stood up from his seat and left a kiss on Candace’s cheek, “Daddy still has business to handle. You sleep well.”
Candace nodded. Linford just left the house instantly.
Cody was the one who noticed Linford’s difference, “Mom, what happened to that man? Is there something wrong with him today?”
“Hush! Don’t say something about your Dad. I guess he just has too much pressure doing his job. You need to understand him, Cody.”
Cody arched an eyebrow, “Oh, I didn’t know he was that fragile. Okay then, I’ll be easy with him lately.”
Linford was still pissed off when he went back to his place. This was the first time he ever felt there was nothing he could do to make that woman look at him.
She always chose to ignore him no matter what he did or how he did it.
Linford felt extremely helpless and sad.
Before going to bed, Cristelle got a call from Fritzi, “Cristelle, I know a fabric store in another city. Do you want to check it out?”
“Where is it?” Cristelle asked. Fritzi mentioned the location. Cristelle instantly realized that it was the place where Claire had stayed.
“Of course, I’d like to go. I’m also trying to find the right fabric,” Cristelle was excited. She could probably find Claire when she got there.
Fritzi also sounded excited on the other side of the line, “Great! Let’s go there tomorrow. We can come back when we find the right fabric.”
Cristelle thought for a while. The two cities were close to each other. She could take a day off and check it out. There shouldn’t be any problem. So she nodded, “Of course. Thank you, Fritzi.”
“You don’t need to thank me, hon. See you tomorrow,” Fritzi hung up the phone and was a bit speechless. Why would Alfred ask her to ask Cristelle out? Couldn’t he make the call himself?
After sending the babies to school, Cristelle went to the airport directly. Linford pretended he didn’t know, not saying a thing as she did it.
He didn’t call Drew until noon, “Are you free today?”
“I don’t have many appointments today. Do you want to grab a drink, Linford?”
Linford checked his watch, “Go to my mansion later. I’ll take you somewhere.”
He then switched off his phone and arranged the details of work before leaving the company.

Meanwhile, in Franco’s place, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne came to visit together with Clara and Tanya.
Franco felt weird, “Why are you guys here today? met your father a couple of days ago.”
Gary was smiling flatteringly. “I’m just here to check out on you, Sir. How’s your health?”
Franco didn’t know why they suddenly visited, but he still knew they must be here with some purpose. He welcomed them with a pleasant smile, “I’m great. You guys don’t need to visit me so frequently.”
Mary gave Gary an eye. Gary instantly said, “To be honest with you, Sir. We come here to ask you something.”
Franco cast a stern look at Clara and Tanya. They knew he didn’t like trouble, but they still brought these people here.
He sighed before facing Gary and Mary again, “What brought you here today, guys?”
Gary told Franco everything about what Linford did. After that, he said apologetically,” I know this is Zoe’s fault. She’s just a young girl, and she doesn’t know better. She should never have offended Linford. But the two families have been working together for decades. I’m here to plead for mercy, Sir. Could you please tell Linford to stop? We would do anything as long as he could let this slide this time.”
“Father, you saw Zoe when she was still a little girl. You know she meant no harm. She was just plain stubborn sometimes. Besides, why would she insult Cristelle if Cristelle didn’t do anything wrong? I bet Cristelle also did something to make Zoe say those things.” Tanya was clearly trying to help the Wayne house.
After hearing their points, Franco had his own idea, “You guys should stop saying anything to me. I’m just a silly old man, know nothing about business. But if you’re not happy with the way Linford dealt with this issue, I can call him here so you guys can ask him. What do you think about that?”
Gary and Mary fell silent together. Clara and Tanya exchanged a look.
It seemed like the old man refused to help them.

Franco sent people to invite Linford. Clara pulled Tanya into the courtyard, “Tanya, I don’t think Franco is gonna help us.”
Tanya was also a bit anxious now, “I didn’t expect Franco’s attitude to be like this. I thought he still cared about the friendship.”
“I think we can only rely on Darwin,” Clara frowned.
“But he’s still in the command station. I don’t think he will be back soon,” Tanya sighed.
