Chapter 212
“Lisa” Alfred called, jolting her out of her thoughts.
“I didn’t know you were still flirting in the hospital bed. How many nurses have you slept with here?” Lisa asked, obviously jealousy washing all over her veins.
“Whatever you see, it isn’t what you think. We were just talking” Alfred sighed
“Who is she?” Lisa asked
“Rhoda, my ex” Alfred said
“Oh wow. I thought she was dead” Lisa said
“Same here” Alfred responded
“I never knew people were starting to rise from the dead. I’m not surprised ” Lisa said and Alfred exhaled deeply.
“How are you feeling?” Lisa asked
“I’m feeling better now that you are here with me,” Alfred said and tried sitting up properly on the bed but Lisa held him.
“No, you should be resting, alright, ” Lisa said and Alfred smiled at her.
“What happened? Daniel told me Andrew shot you” Lisa said
“Yeah? And he’s dead” Alfred said as sadness swept through him.
“Why are you sad? You should be happy he’s gone and everything is over” Lisa said and Alfred shook his head in disagreement.
“Andrew was a good man. Whatever his actions were, they were reasons behind it” Alfred said and Lisa raised her eyebrows.
“Turns out Andrew is my brother, ” Alfred said and Lisa opened her eyes wide in shock.
“Oh my goodness!! What do you mean he’s your brother?” Lisa asked.
“He’s Teresa’s biological son. It pains me so much I didn’t find out in time, I could have at least been able to make things right. It’s all my fault, he’s dead” Alfred said in a sad tone. He’s never been this sad in his entire life.
He’s lost all of his family. In the beginning, he had lost his biological parents, and then he had lost the woman who adopted her and then his grandma. Andrew was the only family he had left and he’s no more. The thought of it alone made his heart shred into pieces.
“You shouldn’t blame yourself for what happened. Besides, he’s gone, may his soul Rest In Peace ” Lisa said and Alfred nodded.
“I was not expecting you to come. What about the kids?” Alfred asked
“They are with mom. They lodged in a hotel close to the airport” Lisa said
“Why lodge in a hotel? I’ll tell Daniel to take them to the mansion” Alfred said and Lisa hummed, staring at him. They both stared into each other’s eyes and Lisa smiled.
“I was so worried and scared when you didn’t call me and when Daniel told me you were shot, I felt almost lifeless. I felt it was the end of the world…. I’m glad you are fine” Lisa said and held Alfred’s hands.
“I’m so sorry for making you worried and scared. I promise I’m not going to leave your side again” Alfred said and Lisa smiled. She placed her hands on his face and engaged him in a deep kiss.
Meanwhile, Daniel and Rhoda are seen walking down the hallway of the hospital, holding a cooler of food, and going back to Alfred’s ward.
“Who’s she?” Rhoda asked
“Oh!! You mean Lisa. Oh, she’s my twin sister and Alfred’s fiancée” Daniel said and Rhoda stared at Daniel surprised.
“I didn’t know you had a twin sister and she’s Alfred Fiancée, he’s going to marry her?” Rhoda asked and Daniel hummed and turned to Rhoda whose face fell in disappointment. He was so sad to know Alfred already has a fiancée.
“I’m happy for him” Rhoda managed to smile as they entered the ward and to their surprise, they met Alfred and Lisa kissing.
“Can’t you both wait till you get out of the hospital?” Daniel muttered and Lisa quickly pulled away from the kiss. She felt her cheek turn red in embarrassment.
“Uhm, Lisa, this is Rhoda, and Rhoda this is Lisa,” Alfred said and Lisa smiled at Rhoda.
“Hi,” Lisa muttered.
“It’s nice meeting Alfred’s fiancée, ” Rhoda said and Lisa chuckled.
Rhoda stared at Alfred and saw how happy he was that Lisa was by her side. She’s never seen him this happy even when they were together in the past. It means one thing, Alfred loves this woman.
“Daniel, can you please go take mom and the quadruplets to my mansion? I do not want my kids to stay in a hotel” Alfred said and Daniel nodded.
“Sure,” he said and with that, he left. Rhoda stared at Alfred surprised.
“You have kids?” Rhoda asked
“Yeah, quadruplets,” Alfred said and Rhoda smiled widely.
“Oh my God!! Alfred, you are a father already. I’m so happy for you. I’m sure the kids must be so handsome like you” Rhoda said
“Not really, they are just as beautiful as their mother, they only took my eye colors,” Alfred said as he stared at Lisa who smiled at him in return.
Just then Lisa heard her phone ring. It was a call from Dina.
“Oh my goodness!! It’s Dina. I didn’t tell her I was coming to see you. I’ll answer this” Lisa said and with that, she walked out of the ward leaving Alfred and Rhoda all alone.
“She’s beautiful ” Rhoda smiled
“Yeah, she is beautiful both on the inside and on the outside,” Alfred said and Rhoda smiled.
“She’s lucky to have a nice man like you,” Rhoda said
“No, I’m the one who is lucky to have her as a wife,” Alfred said and Rhoda hummed.
Just then a message popped into her phone. Rhoda sighed softly.
“Hey, you alright?” Alfred asked as he noticed the look on her face.
“It’s my dad. He wants me to come back home. He’s thinking of selling the company” Rhoda said and Alfred muttered an “oh”
“Do you want him to sell it?” Alfred asked
“No! I don’t ” Rhoda said
“Then you should convince him not to sell it,” Alfred said
“That’s what I’m going to do. So, I’ll be leaving now. I guess this is where we say our final goodbyes” Rhoda said as tears gathered in her eyes.
“Yeah,” Alfred smiled. Rhoda moved towards him and hugged him.
It pained her so much that she was leaving but she had to. Alfred no longer needs her, he’s happy and has kids. Even though she still loves Alfred, she wants him to be happy.
