Chapter 163
Lisa is seen in her office looking so worried and distracted. Dina, who had been watching her since morning, noticed the way she was acting.
“Hey” Dina called as she walked inside Lisa’s office, jolting her out of her thoughts.
“Hey, hi,” Lisa said and Dina stared at her weirdly.
“Are you alright? You’ve been so distracted since you came to work today. Is everything okay?” Dina asked in a concerned tone.
“Yeah, I’m fine. I’m just stressed that’s all” Lisa said and Dina hummed.
“Is it about Alfred? He didn’t bring you to work today” Dina said
“No, seriously I’m fine. Alfred is busy so he won’t be coming from time to time” Lisa said and Dina smiled.
“I heard you telling him to get out yesterday. Not like I was eavesdropping, I happened to be passing by your office when I heard you yelling” Dina said as she sat down and Lisa sighed.
“He kissed me and then memories of the past came rushing to my mind. I had to push him away” Lisa said as her eyes became watery.
“You love him right?” Dina asked
“I do not know Dina. I think I’m in love with him. It isn’t supposed to be so right? I shouldn’t fall in love with him after everything he did for me. It isn’t right. I hate myself for falling for him” Lisa cried and Dina placed her hands on top of hers.
“It’s not your fault Babe. This is a matter of the heart. Common, you should stop crying” Dina said and wiped her tears.
“Thank you Dina for always being here for me,” Lisa said and pouted. Dina smiled.
“It’s nothing,” Dina said and they both smiled.
“What about Daniel? Has he called?” Dina asked
“No, he just needs time, I believe he’s going to be fine even though I’m not sure things can go back the same with us again,” Lisa said and Dina nodded in response.
“I understand, ” Dina said and just then Lisa’s door burst open revealing Mrs. Bella.
“Mrs. Bella?” Lisa called out in shock as she stood up from the chair she was sitting on.
“Lisa” Mrs. Bella called as they both smiled and walked towards each other and then hugged themselves so tight.
“Oh my goodness!! Lisa, I missed you so much” Mrs. Bella said and Lisa smiled.
“Same here ma’am. I missed you too. When did you come back to Singapore?” Lisa asked, still surprised.
“Oh, I came last night,” Mrs. Bella said and then turned to Dina
“Hi ma’am,” Dina smiled and Mrs. Bella hugged her.
“How are you doing Dina?” She asked
“I’m fine ma’am, ” Dina said and Mrs. Bella smiled.
“I’ll check how things are going out there,” Dina said to Lisa, and with that, she walked out of the office leaving Lisa and Mrs. Bella all alone.
“How about nova? She didn’t come with you?” Lisa asked
“Oh yes, she came. She’s at home. I didn’t tell her I was coming to see you, if not she would have come with me, I just told her I’m going to see a friend” Mrs. Bella said as she and Lisa walked towards the couch in the office and sat down.
“How have you been Lisa? And the quadruplets where are they?” Mrs. Bella asked
“I have been okay. Oh, the kids are in school. We’ve been good” Lisa said smiling. She missed Mrs. Bella. She remembered the day she had to travel with Nova. That day she cried, she tried convincing Daniel to let them stay so Nova could study here in Singapore but he refused saying he wants the best for her only sibling.
“They must have grown so big and beautiful like their mother,” Mrs. Bella said and Lisa laughed.
She then began to wonder why Mrs. Bella came back to Singapore and she hadn’t even had enough rest so she came to see her. She just hopes everything is fine with Daniel.
“What brought you back so soon?” Lisa asked
“It’s Daniel. He doesn’t seem okay. He looks lost and all. He isn’t feeling too well” Mrs. Bella said and Lisa sighed softly knowing too well it was what happened the other day that made Daniel that way.
“I had to come back home. My son needs me and I hate to see him this way. I just feel something is wrong, that’s why he’s that way. You are the only one I could come to since he refused to tell me what happened. I know how much my son loves you and the quadruplets. Did you guys fight?” Mrs. Bella asked and Lisa bit her inner cheeks.
“Yes but it’s nothing serious. We both gonna fix it” Lisa said
“What happened? Did Daniel offend you in any way? Please tell me I’ll talk to him. I know how much he loves you and you are the only one that can fix him, please help me by helping him” Mrs. Bella pleaded and Lisa swallowed hard not knowing what to say.
Mrs. Bella later found out the quadruplets weren’t for Daniel but still despite that she still loves Lisa because of how much his son loved her. She knew Lisa was his son’s happiness.
“Ma’am, Daniel is going to be fine, ” Lisa said and Mrs. Bella held her hands.
“I’ll talk to Daniel but please forgive him so you guys can be one again. He loves you Lisa” Mrs. Bella paused and Lisa swallowed hard.
Mrs. Bella knew her son too well. Daniel would only be this devastated and distracted for one reason and that was if he and Lisa weren’t on good terms. That’s why she’s pleading with Lisa so they can work things out.
“I know ma’am, I’ll talk to him,” Lisa said and Mrs. Bella smiled.
Lisa blinked helplessly. Mrs. Bella doesn’t know she isn’t in love with Daniel even though Daniel loves her so badly. She doesn’t even know the father of the quadruplets is back and she is in love with him. She sighed softly.
“Why don’t you and Daniel get married? I’ll make all the preparations and everything, you don’t need to stress yourself about anything. The kids would be so happy about Daniel being their Daddy” Mrs. Bella said and Lisa opened her eyes in shock.
