Chapter 149
Lisa stared at the kids who had sad faces on. She could see Alfred had broken the kid’s heart this morning. Just then Arabella burst into tears.
“Daddy won’t have breakfast with us today” Arabella burst into tears and Lisa sighed softly. She walked towards her kids and hugged them.
“Don’t worry kids, I’m here alright. Mommy is here we can have breakfast together” Lisa said as she stroked Arabella’s hair.
“No, I want daddy” Arabella cried
“Daddy is busy now. Alright, he won’t be happy when he finds out you are crying” Lisa said and immediately Arabella stopped crying.
After Lisa had tried calming them down, she brought them to the dining room and served them breakfast but they refused to eat. Even when she tried feeding them, they didn’t collect the food from her.
They were sad, Alfred wasn’t here with them. Lisa sighed softly not knowing what to do. She hated to see her kids this sad. She wondered what important work Alfred had to attend to that made him tell the kids he was busy.
She didn’t know why but she also felt sad. It was definitely because her kids were sad and nothing else. Just then the four burst open revealing Daniel. At first, the kids thought it was Alfred when they saw it was Daniel, they became sad again.
“Sweethearts, uncle Daniel is here,” Daniel said immediately as he walked in but the kids didn’t pay any single attention to him. They wanted their daddy and nobody else. Daniel was surprised the kids didn’t come to hug him like they usually do whenever he comes.
“What happened?” Daniel asked Lisa
“They want Alfred and because he’s not coming they’ve refused to eat breakfast, ” Lisa said tiredly. Daniel sighed softly.
“Bella’s I’m going to be taking you guys out to see the Animals in the zoo so cheer up. Uncle Daniel is here now” Daniel said and the kids turned to him at once.
“Is daddy coming with us to the zoo?” Arabella said happily.
“No, it’s just me, mummy, and you guys, ” Daniel said and Arabella frowned.
“If daddy is not coming I won’t be coming,” Arabella said and the rest of her siblings nodded in agreement. Lisa frowned.
“This is getting too much. She wondered what Alfred had done or given to the kids that they wouldn’t want to do anything without him” Lisa thought almost getting angry. Daniel turned to Lisa. It was obvious she was getting annoyed with the kids already.
“They are children Lisa, you should calm down” Daniel smiled at Lisa. Just then the door burst open revealing Alfred.
Immediately the kids saw him. They stood up from their chairs at once and ran towards Alfred then jumped on him.
“Daddy came, Daddy came ” the kids sang happily and Alfred smiled.
“I promised I would come. I had to cancel my work so I could have breakfast with you guys. I can’t miss that for Anything” Alfred said to the kids and they jumped up happily.
Alfred carried them as they walked to the dining table. It was then he noticed Daniel was around. He had seen his car outside the house.
He was sitting close to Lisa. Alfred felt jealous seeing the fact that Daniel was so close to Lisa but he quickly shook off his thoughts. He just didn’t want to make it look that obvious.
Meanwhile, Daniel kept staring at Alfred with hate in his eyes. He felt so jealous that the kids had become so fond of him the past few days that they weren’t around. It breaks his heart.
Daniel helped the kids sit on the dining chair and sat close to them. “Daddy I’m hungry” Arabella pouted.
“Me too daddy,” Isabella said
“I’ll feed you guys alright, ” Alfred said and the kids nodded happily.
“Excuse me” Daniel who couldn’t withstand seeing the kids call Alfred daddy said and was about leaving but Lisa held his hands.
“Uncle Daniel, are you leaving?” Isabella asked and Daniel turned to Lisa who gave him the look “please, for the sake of the kids” Daniel sighed softly and sat down.
“No I’m not” Daniel smiled at Isabella. Lisa stood up and dished out a plate of food for Daniel and herself.
He sat close to Daniel and they both ate silently while Alfred was feeding the kids. A part of his attention was on the kids while another part of his attention was on Lisa and Daniel. Alfred almost felt he was gonna explode from jealousy.
“Uncle Daniel the food is delicious right?” Annabella asked, smiling at Daniel who was enjoying the food.
“Yes, it’s so delicious. Your momma is the best cook ever” Daniel said as he chewed the food in his mouth.
“Mommy didn’t cook the food, Daddy did,” Clarabella said and Daniel stopped eating at once. He turned to Lisa who swallowed hard and then turned to Alfred who smiled at him. He frowned.
If he had known Alfred had prepared the food he wouldn’t have eaten it in the first place. He felt so Angry Lisa hadn’t told him Alfred prepared the food.
He turned to Lisa who placed her hands on top of his and gave it a light squeeze. Daniel felt calm immediately. He took a glass of water that was on the table and drank from it.
He then turned to Alfred.
“God!! The food you prepared tasted horrible ” Daniel said in a mocking tone to Alfred who did nothing but smile.
“At Least my kids love it. Right kids?” Alfred asked the quadruplets who nodded happily.
“Daddy’s food is the best” the kids echoed at once and Lisa turned to Daniel whose face turned soured at once. Daniel was trying to get to Alfred.
He wanted him to get Angry because he knew if Alfred gets angry he was gonna reveal the monstrous side of him but now it was the other way round.
Alfred wasn’t the one getting angry, it was Daniel. Lisa stared at Alfred and then at Daniel. She smells trouble.
