Chapter 148
It was morning and another day Ty to be precise. Lisa had woken up feeling so energized and different. She sat up properly on the bed and picked up her phone. It was 7 am.
She looked around the room and noticed Alfred wasn’t there anymore. Oh maybe he had left already, she thought as she stood up from the bed. She walked inside the bathroom and took her bath then changed into a simple gown.
It was Saturday so she didn’t have to worry about getting the kids ready for school, not dropping them off. Today was also her day off from the restaurant. She walked inside the kitchen and saw Alfred had cooked a lot of food yesterday.
She didn’t have to cook then, she just had to warm the food. When she was done, she ate breakfast in the kitchen. She loved the food so much and she must confess, Alfred is a good cook.
After she finished eating, she washed the plate in the sink and swept the whole house. She did all the house chores as she usually does every Saturday. She was thankful her leg didn’t hurt that much so it allowed her to walk and work.
Lisa walked inside her kids and saw they were still asleep. She walked towards the window and opened it wide.
The bright ray of the morning sun shone inside the room and she heard her kids groaning. She then stared around the room and noticed it was looking a little bit different or rather it wasn’t looking a little bit different but more different.
She was so sure Alfred had changed the settings of the room and made it look so beautiful. He had changed their beds and got them a bigger one which the four of them can sleep on together.
Before they had a separate bed. even with the four of them lying on the new bed, there was a lot of space on the bed. This was a king-size bed and wasn’t meant for kids.
He got them a new wardrobe too and new television. It was bigger than the one they had before. She had been so occupied yesterday that she didn’t enter her children’s room. She must confess, the new setting was so beautiful and much better than it was before.
“Mommy ” Isabella called, jolting her out of her thoughts. She turned around and saw the quadruplets sitting on the bed staring at her with their small sleepy faces.
“Sweethearts” Lisa called out as she walked towards them and sat close to them on the bed.
“Good morning mommy,” they said in their tiny voices, making Lisa laugh.
“Mommy where’s daddy?” Arabella asked and Lisa joined her lips together.
“Daddy has gone to get something, he will be back soon,” Lisa said, knowing fully well she had just lied to her kid. She didn’t have any clue where Alfred had gone. She had woken up and the first thing she saw was that he wasn’t in the room anymore.
“Common kids, you should all take your bath. Breakfast is ready” Lisa said and the kids nodded.
They climbed down from the bed and went to their wardrobe to pick up their towel. It wasn’t their old towel but a new towel and most importantly a pink towel each. The kid’s favorite towel.
“Mommy, will daddy be back before breakfast?” Isabella asked
“I do not know Isa. Maybe” Lisa said in response and she nodded.
“Mommy if daddy does not come before breakfast we will wait for him right?” Clarabella asked and Lisa nodded smiling.
She sighed softly. She wondered what Alfred had done to these kids and that they are just talking about him now and then.
Lisa walked the kids inside the bathroom and helped them take their baths after they finished brushing their teeth.
Lisa helped them get dressed into the new dress Alfred had bought for them yesterday. It was the same dressing. A pair of pink trousers and a pink shirt. He had also bought them a pink hairband. Lisa helped them wear the bands on their hair and they wore their slippers.
They looked so similar, it would be hard for a stranger to differentiate who is who, especially when they have the same eye colors and the same color of hair and they had the same height too.
Lisa smiled as she stared at her little princesses. They looked so cute in the dress Alfred had bought for them. Alfred had a good taste in outfit when it comes to children. He’s father material.
After the children had gotten dressed, Isabella ran towards her wardrobe and then brought out a phone. Lisa was a little bit surprised to see Isabella holding a new phone. It was Alfred’s handwork.
Did he get the kids a new phone too, oh good lord, Alfred is gonna spoil these kids for me, Lisa thought. Lisa stared at Isabella who brought out the phone, did whatever she was doing on it, and put the phone on her ear.
“Princess” Lisa heard Alfred’s voice from the other side of the phone. Isabella had placed the phone on a loudspeaker.
“Daddy, Good morning” Isabella giggled happily
“Morning sweetheart. How was your night?” Alfred asked
“It was fine, daddy. Daddy, are you coming for breakfast this morning?” Isabella asked
“I don’t know, I have some important work to attend to,” Alfred said and Isabella frowned.
“But daddy, you said you’ll have breakfast with us every morning. You promised ” Arabella yelled as her eyes became watery.
“I’ll make it up to you guys, Alright. I have to go now. Daddy loves you all” Alfred said and with that, he ended the phone call. Isabella dropped the phone back in her wardrobe and turned to her siblings who were looking so sad.
Lisa stared at the kids who had sad faces on. She could see Alfred had broken the kid’s heart this morning. Just then Arabella burst into tears.
“Daddy won’t have breakfast with us today”
