Oh my goodness you guys scared me!! How long have you all been standing there?” Lisa asked as she put her hands on her chest.
“Mommy, is Mr. Alfred our daddy?” Isabella asked, ignoring the question Lisa just asked. Oh my goodness, have these kids been watching this news since and I didn’t know, Lisa thought as she stared at her kids who were also staring at her waiting for her response.
Lisa had wanted to say no but she didn’t want to lie to her kids nor did she want to tell them the truth. It would be more complicated for her. She sighed softly without saying a word as she walked up to her kids and kissed the four of them on their foreheads.
“Common, let me get you guys ready for school, you all don’t want to be late,” Lisa said and they nodded. She took her kids upstairs and helped them get dressed for school.
After Lisa had dropped her kids at school, she went to her restaurant, and to her utmost surprise, she saw a lot of people in the restaurant. They were more than she watched on the Tv.
Lisa couldn’t find a place to park her car, she had no choice but to park it outside the restaurant. She entered the restaurant through the back door and just then she caught a glimpse of Dina walking out of her office.
“Dina, what’s happening?” Lisa asked and Dina dragged her to her office and locked the door behind her.
“Oh my goodness, Lisa after my Alfred gave that short speech. Everything changed. Did you ask him for help?” Dina asked
“No, I didn’t. I was surprised he made the speech” Lisa said and Dina smiled happily. Lisa had never seen Dina so happy this way before.
“Oh my goodness!! We’ve had more sales than we could ever think of just this morning and imagine how much we’re gonna make till the end of the day. I’m so happy Lisa, Alfred seems to be a nice person” Dina said and Lisa snorted.
“Whatever, you think is none of my business,” Lisa said as she walked out of Dina’s office to hers.
“Lisa, why don’t you give him a chance to talk? Just talk, nothing else?” Dina asked, trailing behind Lisa to her office.
” I can’t Dina and I won’t. Not after everything he did. I’m not interested in hearing what he has to say” Lisa said as she dropped her bag on the table and then turned to Dina who kept insisting she talk to Alfred.
“Did he pay you to talk to me ?” Lisa asked
“Nah, Lisa he’s promoted our restaurant, your restaurant, at least you can talk to him because of that” Dina said
“The restaurant was moving fine without him, everything was going smoothly and he was the cause of the loss we had yesterday. He did the right thing by fixing it” Lisa said and Dina hummed softly.
“Lisa, I have never asked you for anything but please I’m going to ask you this and I hope you’ll do it for me, please Lisa,” Dina said and Lisa rolled her eyes
“I’m not talking to him, Dina. My mind is made up” Lisa said
“Really?” Dina asked and Lisa joined her lips together staring at Dina. Dina had never asked her for anything since they became friends. She’s always helped her and supported her and this was the first thing I was asking of her. She just couldn’t say no. This is Dina, her best friend.
Lisa sighed softly and Dina smiled at her.
“Promise me you won’t shout at him when you see him, you just gonna give him the chance to talk,” Dina said and Lisa hummed.
“Please Lisa,” Dina said as she pouted
“Fine, Fine, I promise,” Lisa said as she removed a strand of hair from her face putting it at the back of her ear.
Just then Alfred walked inside Lisa’s office. Lisa opened her eyes wide.
“What are you doing here? Get out of my office” Lisa yelled and turned to Dina.
“What the hell is going on here, Dina?” Lisa asked
“Lisa please, you promised already,” Dina said and Lisa shot her a deadly glare. Dina gave her a small smile before walking out of the office, locking the door, and leaving both Lisa and Alfred in the office.
“Dina!! Dina opens the door” Lisa yelled as she held the door handle trying to unlock the door but all her effort was in vain as Dina had already locked the door from the outside and left.
“Fuck shit!!” she groaned and turned to Alfred. She stared at him without saying a word.
“Lisa I…”
“Don’t think I’m gonna talk to you because she locked us in here? I’m gonna kill her when I see her ” Lisa said, cutting him off as she walked to her table and sat down on her chair. She brought out some files and went through them ignoring the fact that she and Alfred have been locked in her office.
“Lisa, I know you hate me after everything I did to you. I swear I regret everything I did and I want to fix everything and right all the wrongs I have done to you” Alfred said
“There’s nothing to fix here, Alfred, it’s too late for that,” Lisa said, trying to calm herself because she just didn’t want to outburst because if she did, the office would be too small for her and Alfred.
“Lisa, I’m sorry for everything, ” Alfred said and Lisa scoffed and raised her head now staring at him.
“You think sorry is going to erase all the pains and memories of all the monstrous things you did to me, you must be joking Alfred, ” Lisa said as she stood up from her chair.
” After making life a living hell for me, you come here and say sorry like it’s gonna fix every fucking thing you did? You must be insane Alfred because you are insane. Fuck you”
