That monster” Lisa said, almost yelling and Dina quickly closed the open door.
“Oh my goodness! Where? When?” Dina asked surprised.
“I saw him at my kid’s school yesterday and now he’s at the party,” Lisa said as scratched her head.
Dina stared at Lisa whose eyes were now filled with tears.
“The moment I saw him those memories I have been trying to bury, they came back. I can’t sleep at night Dina, I keep remembering all the things he’s done to me. It makes me so angry that I hurt Isabella last night” Lisa cried and Dina exhaled deeply not knowing what to say. She moved towards her and helped her stand up from the chair that hugged her.
“You gonna be fine. Everything will be fine” Dina consoled as she patted her back. Just then they heard a knock on the door. Dina moved away from the hug and cleaned her tears.
“Come in,” Dina said and the manager, Aria, opened the door and walked in.
“Ma’am, your attention is needed outside, ” Aria said
“Hope everything is fine out there?” Dina asked
“Yes, some few people want to see her. I think they wanna discuss business with you” Aria said as he stared at Lisa who didn’t say a word. She wondered what was wrong with Lisa, she’s been acting strange, she thought but then she quickly shook off the thoughts and told herself it was none of her business.
“I’ll be out shortly ” Lisa finally spoke and Aria nodded before walking out and closing the door behind her.
“You don’t need to go out there if you don’t want to,” Dina said
“It’s fine,” Lisa said
“What if you run into him?” Dina asked worriedly
“I can handle myself, Dina. I’ll be fine” Lisa said and Dina nodded in response as they both walked out of her office.
By the time Lisa came out of her office she met lots of crowds still in the hall but it seemed like most of them were outside. She scrutinized the hall searching for Alfred but he wasn’t in the hall. She sighed softly. She just hopes he’s left.
“Searching for someone?” A voice said from behind and Lisa turned around to see a young lady smiling at her.
“Hi, I’m Yīnuò Lî Cheung,” the young lady said as she brought her hand forth and handshake.
“I’m Lisa Cranston ” Lisa smiled at her.
“Nice restaurant you’ve got. I heard you named the restaurant after your quadruplets. It’s a good thing” she said and Lisa smiled at her
“You’re not from here right?” Lisa asked because her accent was that of China and her name too.
“No. I’m from China. I came for the party ” Yīnuò Lî said and Lisa muttered an “oh”
“I just wish I can see your quadruplets,” Yīnuò Lî said
“Oh, they’re still in school,” Lisa said and she smiled. Just then a text message popped into her phone.
“I need to go now. I do not want to miss my flight”, Yīnuò Lî said and Lisa nodded
“I’ll walk you to your car,” Lisa said as they both walked out of the restaurant.
“It was nice seeing you in person Lisa Cranston. I’ll drop by here to eat whenever I’m in town and one more thing, your food is the best I have tasted so far” Yīnuò Lî said and Lisa muttered a thank you. Yīnuò Lî hopped into her car and the driver zoomed off.
Lisa sighed softly as she stared around the compound which was filled with lots of expensive cars. She was so damn sure A lot of CEOs here were Into Architecture. She remembered most of them.
She had seen most of them when she was little. Her father had always taken her to his company. They wouldn’t recognize her anymore. It’s been a while. The thought of all these alone made her miss her father so much.
She exhaled deeply and was about to walk inside the restaurant when she heard her name. She turned around and saw Mr luke walking towards her with Alfred by his side, she felt her heart skip a bit.
Immediately Lisa saw Alfred she had wanted to walk away and avoid him. She just didn’t want to see him but she respects Mr luke a lot and wouldn’t want to disrespect him. She just hates Alfred so much that she feels irritated by him.
“Hello sir,” Lisa smiled at the advanced man standing in front of her.
“Lisa Cranston right?” Mr. Luke said as Lisa nodded.
“Do not mind me. My brain easily forgets things these days, it’s probably because of old age” Mr luke said and laughed. Lisa scoffed. She could feel Alfred’s eyes on her but she didn’t want to look at him. She just doesn’t want to look at his face.
“I’m so happy with the way you decorated the restaurant. Everything was in place and ordered. I felt so happy to see what you’ve done” Mr Luke said and Lisa smiled.
“We did our best to make sure everything was in place and I’m glad you liked everything. Thank you, sir” Lisa smiled at Mr. Luke.
” from now on, our funding party is gonna be held here. I’ll make sure of that and I’m sure you’ve met Alfred kings. He’s going to be the organizer of any fund party we gonna be holding henceforth” Mr luke said and Lisa turned to Alfred.
“Hi,” Alfred said as he smiled at Lisa. Lisa scoffed.
“I’ll leave you guys to talk,” Mr Luke said and with that, he walked away. Lisa scoffed as she stared at Alfred with nothing but hatred in her eyes. She just hated this man standing in front of him and she felt like strangling him at that moment.
Lisa stared at him one more time and turned to leave but the Alfred held her hands.
“Lisa” Alfred called as he held her hand but then unexpectedly, Lisa turned swiftly and gave him a resounding slap on his cheeks and he let go of her hands immediately.
“Woah!” The crowd outside who heard the sound of the slap turned to Alfred and Lisa.
Lisa stared at the crowd whose eyes were now on them. She moved closer to him and whispered in his ear.
“That was for touching me with those stinky hands of yours,” she said and gave him another slap on his left cheek and then whispered to his ears again.
“Stay the fuck away from me else I’m not going to slap you in public next time I’m gonna do something worse. It’s not a threat, it’s a warning” Lisa said and with that she walked away.
Alfred stood numb not saying a word. He was in shock Lisa slapped him. Just then Mr luke walked towards him.
“What just happened? Is Mrs. Lisa a gangster?”
