Chapter 107
I’m going to take the job Daniel and there’s nothing that can change my mind about it” Lisa said and Daniel stared at her for some seconds without saying a word and just then he walked away from her.
After Daniel had left Lisa sat tiredly on the couch. All her life she’s only wished for a happy life, with the freedom to do what she loved so much.
She never wished for this life, not for the babies in her womb. All thanks to the monster Alfred, she thought tiredly.
“I can’t continue to stay with daniel and start giving him unnecessary responsibilities hereby blocking him from so many opportunities.
I understand he’s trying to look out for me but no, I can’t live like this, I need to work hard, for myself and my unborn kids. Make a name for them and me. I would not depend on anyone to accomplish that. I need to do it all on my own” Lisa thought quietly and just then her thoughts were interrupted by Ria who tapped her on her shoulder.
“Hey” Lisa muttered
“Dinner is ready,” she said
“I’m not having dinner. I ate at my friend’s place. I’ll just go to bed now” Lisa said as she stood up from the couch, and picked up her phone and her bag.
“You should serve Daniel dinner in his room,” Lisa says
“I’m not sure he’s gonna have dinner. He’s locked himself in his room” Ria said and Lisa joined her lips together.
“Ok then. I’ll be going to bed now, good night” Lisa said and with that, she climbed upstairs to her room.

It was morning again and another day to be precise. Lisa had woken up so early. She had taken her bath and got dressed for work.
She had gone downstairs for breakfast and was told by Ria that Daniel had left for work early. She ate breakfast and went to work.
It was evening and Lisa had gotten back from work. She looked so tired. She had removed all her clothes and walked inside the bathroom.
The first day at the restaurant was stressful. She was in charge of taking orders of what the customers wanted. She finds her job very fun and she loved it as it was an opportunity to meet a lot of people and talk to them.
She had made friends with a co-worker whose name is Malia and had exchanged contacts with her.
She had also met an old couple who had come to eat at the restaurant today. They were so nice and friendly. It was an opportunity to talk to them for some second and she could see how much they loved each other. She admired them a lot. They even gave her some cash for free.
They said they liked how friendly she is be how she attended to them. Lisa felt very blessed and happy. She kept the money in her safe in her room. Since the restaurant would be paying her weekly, she would be able to gather enough money so she can get herself an apartment and move out.
After she had taken her bath she wore her night dress and went downstairs to wait for Daniel. She needed to speak and at least apologize to him if she was being rude to him.
She knows he only wants what’s good for her and the baby but at the same time she needs to make him understand certain things too. It is what she wants.
She had sat on the couch watching tv while waiting for Daniel to show up but suddenly she fell asleep. An hour later she felt a hand tap her, she jumped off from her sleep thinking it was Daniel but disappointingly it was Ria.
“You should go sleep in your room. This couch is not that comfortable, you do not want to get body aches by daybreak” ria said smiling
“Yeah. Thanks. Is Daniel back?” she asked as she rubbed her eyes.
“No,” Ria said and she nodded before standing up from the couch and climbing upstairs to her room.
Immediately after she got to her room, she collapsed on the bed and slept off.

Two days later
It was morning and Lisa had gotten dressed for work. She had woken up so early so she could speak to Daniel before he could leave for the office.
For two days now she hasn’t seen Daniel in person. It’s either he left for work so early or he comes back late at midnight. She knew what he was trying to do. He’s avoiding her.
She carried her bag and walked out of the room and the first person she saw was Ria coming out of the kitchen.
“Good morning Lisa,” Ria said smiling
“Has Daniel left?” Lisa asked
“Yeah, he left like an hour ago..” Ria said and Lisa muttered an “oh”
“Ok I’m off to work now,” Lisa said
“Won’t you have breakfast?” ria asked
“No, thanks. I’ll eat at work ” Lisa said
“Lisa, Is there anything wrong with my cooking these days? You and Sir Daniel hadn’t been eating my food lately. If there’s any error in it you can tell me I’ll improve” Ria said and Lisa smiled at her.
“It’s not that, ria. You’ve been so dedicated to your work and have been one of the best cooks I have ever seen. Daniel is just too busy and I’m busy too. I promise to eat dinner when I come back. Prepare my favorite. Bye” Lisa said and with that, she walked away leaving Ria who was smiling all to herself.

Daniel is seen in his office with his glasses on and his pen in his hands with him staring at the file on the table when he heard a knock on the door.
“Come in,” he said with his eyes still fixed on the paper.
“Sir” Williams called as he walked in and Daniel raised his head staring at him.
“What is it Williams?” he asked as he dropped his pen, removing his eyeglasses and dropping them on the table.
“Sir, the investors refused to sign these. They complained they were errors in the file and would not sign it” William complained
“Errors?” Daniel asked as he put on his glass back and took the file from Williams going through it.
“Oh shit. I didn’t see this while I went through them yesterday. I’ll cross-check and see if they’re other errors and fix it” daniel said
“Sir, I can do it if you want me to. You do not need to stress yourself” Williams said
“No it’s fine I’ll do it. You should do some other things that need to be done ” Daniel said and Williams nodded and was about to walk out of the office but turned to Daniel.
“Anything else?” Daniel asked
“No sir. I just noticed for the past few days now you seem not to be yourself. If anything is bothering you, you should take a break. It’s affecting you” Williams said and Daniel smiled.
“It’s nothing. I’m fine William. Thank you for being concerned ” Daniel said and Williams hummed before walking out of the office.
