Chapter 102
Lisa ate the food in a rush. The maid stared at her in awe. She wasn’t surprised though, she’s heard that women who are pregnant eat a lot and she has just witnessed one.
Lisa paused and turned to the maid and noticed she was smiling at her. Her cheeks turned red in embarrassment. She didn’t notice she was eating so fast.
“The food is delicious, ” Lisa said as she cleaned her mouth.
“Thank you, ” the maid said and then it crossed Lisa’s mind that she doesn’t even know the new maid’s name. She had forgotten to ask her for her name.
“What’s your name?” Lisa asked
“My name is Maria, ma’am but my friends call me Ria” she smiled as she carried the plate Lisa used for eating and washed them.
“Ria” Lisa muttered as the memories of Ria the maid came rushing into her head. She remembered the first day she had come into Alfred’s house and how Ria had stared at her with hatred. It was the first-day Ria had seen her that she hated her. She wondered why?.
Maybe people are just meant to hate her, just like Martha and joy.
“Are you alright ma’am?” Ria asked as she noticed Lisa was in deep thought.
“Yes, I’m alright,” Lisa said and smiled at her
“You are so pretty and your hair is beautiful ” Ria uttered and Lisa smiled. The girl seems to be very nice. She likes her already.
“Thank You and one more thing Ria, you should quit calling me ma’am. Just call me Lisa, please ” she spoke out, and with that, she walked out of the kitchen. Immediately she walked out of the kitchen, she saw ma’am Lois climbing down the stairs.
“Good morning ma’am Lois,” Lisa said as she moved towards her and hugged her.
“Oh my, Lisa” ma’am Lois mumbled
“How are you feeling now?” Lisa asked
“I’m okay. All thanks to you. I hope you like the new maid Ria?” ma’am Lois asked looking concerned
“Yes, I like her already. She’s full of spirit and strength and she’s fun to be with” Lisa said and ma’am Lois smiled happily. She was glad Lisa liked Ria. She would not wish for anything more than that.
“I would go check on her in the kitchen to see what she’s doing,” ma’am Lois said and Lisa nodded before walking away.
Lisa walked inside her room and removed her clothes. She tied her towel around her chest before walking inside the bathroom to take her bath. After she was done, she walked out of the bathroom.
She dried her body and applied lotion before putting on her clothes. She put on light makeup and applied lip gloss. She wore her shoes and picked up her bag. She brought out her phone and tried switching it on only to discover it was switched off.
She then remembered it had gone off yesterday when Mrs. Bella was calling her. She had forgotten to charge the phone and call her back and right now she needed to be at the hospital.
Clara must be awake, she needs her now more than ever. She needs to be by the little girl’s side before her mom wakes from a coma besides they’re all in this mess because of her, she thought.
She then decided to plug the phone into the car on her way to the hospital.

The car screeched to a halt in front of the hospital. Lisa climbed out of the car and the first person she had seen was Derek. He was on his way out of the hospital.
“Hey” Lisa called as she walked toward him.
“How are you feeling now?” Derek asked
“I’m okay. What about you? Are you going out?” Lisa asked
“Yeah yeah. I’ll be back later to check on you guys. Julia is inside with her sister” Derek said and Lisa nodded
“Alright, take care of yourself, ” Lisa said and was about to leave when Derek called her. She turned to him, raising her eyebrows.
“Whatever joy did, I hope you forgive her,” Derek said and Lisa smiled. She then moved towards Derek and placed her hands on his shoulder.
“People make mistakes Derek. We all do it one way or the other. I believe joy made a mistake. So, I hold nothing against her and I have forgiven her” Lisa said and Derek stared at her speechlessly.
He just wished everyone would have a simple, forgiving, and caring heart like that of Lisa. He just wished everyone would be like her. This world would have been better than this.
“Thank you,” Derek said
“It’s nothing. I should go check on Clara now. See you later” Lisa said and with that, she walked inside the hospital building.
The first place she went to was Clara’s ward. She was already awake and was crying that she wanted to see her mommy. Williams was with her trying to calm her down but it seemed all his efforts were in vain.
“Oh thank goodness you’re here,” Williams said as he saw Lisa walk in.
“What happened? ” Lisa asked as she moved towards Clara and hugged her.
“She would not stop crying. God!! I do not want to have children if this is how they act” Williams said as he stood up and was about to walk out of the ward but stopped when Lisa called him.
“Thank you” Lisa muttered and he stood there staring at her for a few seconds without saying a word and with that, he walked away.
Lisa turned to Clara who was still crying.
“Hey, baby girl. Stop crying alright? I’ll take you to mommy now” Lisa said as she carried her in her arms and immediately she stopped crying.
She sighed softly not knowing what to do. She didn’t know if she should let her see her mom. It would not be nice letting her see her mom in that state but right now she had no choice.
She carried her bag with Clara in her arms as they walked to Dina’s ward. She didn’t enter the ward, since it was made of transparent glasses, which made it easier for them to see Dina who was lying on the hospital bed looking so peaceful.
“Mommy” Clara called out, touching the glass as she saw her mom. Lisa swallowed hard.
“Mommy is not answering me,” Clara said as she pouted her mouth. Tears gathered in her eyes.
Oh good lord!!
“Mommy is sleeping, that’s why she isn’t answering. When she wakes up she’s gonna hug you and kiss you” Lisa paused not knowing what to say. She was trying so hard not to break down in front of this kid. It hurts seeing Dina this way and her little innocent baby who doesn’t know her mom was in the middle between life and death.
“Let’s go inside and wake her up,” Clara said
“No Clara. Mommy gave orders not to wake her up when she’s sleeping ” Lisa smiled at Clara
“No, mommy said if I needed to talk to her and she was sleeping I should wake her up,” Clara said
“This time is different Clara. We can’t wake her up. Let’s just pray she wakes up by herself ”
