Chapter 80
Daniel hummed and walked past her to his room, without saying a word. It was unlike him. She then wondered what was wrong with him. Maybe he was tired, she thought and went back to watch her Tv.
Minutes later Daniel came back to the sitting room. This time he had changed his dress and taken his bath. He was searching for something.
“What are you looking for?” Lisa asked but he didn’t reply to her.
“Daniel, are you looking for something?” She asked again thinking maybe he didn’t hear her the first time. But then she noticed he was snubbing her.
Wtf!! Has she done this time? she thought.
“Daniel” she called and was about to stand up when she missed her legs and was about to fall to the ground when she felt thick hands grab her. It was Daniel.
She raised her head looking into his eyes with both of them lost staring at each other.
Daniel was quick to come back to his senses. He helped her stand properly and was about to walk away but Lisa held his hand.
“Why are you ignoring me? What did I do? I’m sorry if I did anything wrong” Lisa said as tears filled her eyes. She felt so scared. After everything that has happened, Daniel was her only savior. He helped her and stood by her regardless of everything, she just couldn’t sit and watched him ignore her, it breaks her heart.
Daniel felt his heart melt by Lisa’s tears. He just couldn’t hold it anymore, he spilled it out.
“Why did you do it? Why did you do that to Tessa? Did you slap her, why? She was only trying to help you and you inflicted pain on her” Daniel said and Lisa let go of his hands immediately.
“Is that what she told you? And you believed her. You couldn’t even ask me what happened and you believe her?” Lisa said as she stared at Daniel In surprise.
She thought he was different. She thought he understood her. She thought he never listened to a one-sided judgment before going to conclusions.
“She wouldn’t lie against you on something like that. You did it, Lisa, just stop pretending. It doesn’t suit you” Daniel said, almost yelling.
“Me, pretending? Are you for real Daniel?
Wow, just wow.
I did slap her and I didn’t deny it. She put me and my unborn child in danger” Lisa said
“And why should I believe you?” Daniel said. Sadness swept over what Daniel just said. Why should he believe her?
“Because I’m telling the truth,” Lisa said as tears slipped from her cheeks. Daniel turned away from her not wanting to see her tears because it would only make him weak. He was so angry at Lisa.
“I should have known you never trusted me or believed me. I know she’s your best friend and I’m absolutely nothing. You picked me up from the street and helped me live and in return, I slapped your best friend.
I should have done nothing and folded my hands than allow her to step all over me” Lisa paused as she ran out of words
She felt speechless as tears ran down her cheeks.
“I hate you, I hate you all. I hate all of you” she yelled and ran upstairs to her room.
“Lisa, Lisa” Daniel called as he ran after her.
“Lisa, open the door please ” Daniel begged
“Go away, I hate you ” Lisa yelled as she cried
“Lisa please, I’m sorry it’s my fault. I should have heard your side of the story. I’m sorry. Please open the door” Daniel begged but Lisa refused.
“Let her calm Daniel. She’ll talk to you by morning” ma’am Lois said to Daniel and he nodded before walking to his room.
Lisa squeezed herself onto the bed as she cried on her pillow nonstop. Suddenly she drifted to sleep.

Daniel is seen in his bed with his eyes wide open. He just couldn’t sleep knowing the fact that he had made Lisa cry.
He had made a mistake. He should have heard her side of the story before treating her that way, it’s all his fault.
He just can’t wait for morning so he can apologize to her.

It was morning and another brand new day to begin with. Lisa had woken up with her face and eyes swollen because she had cried to sleep last night.
She then heard the sound of her phone’s ringing tone, it was Dina. She was probably calling for Mr. Edward’s son’s birthday party, which was tomorrow. She wasn’t even sure if she was going to attend.
She ended the call and dropped it on the bed.
She sighed softly and stood up from the bed. She walked inside the bathroom, brushed her teeth, and took her bath.
She walked out of the bathroom and dried her body. She wore one of her usual clothes and dried her hair.
She laid back on the bed and took her phone. She saw 5 missed calls from Dina. Just as she was about to call her back she heard a knock on the door.
“Lisa, it’s me please open the door please ” she heard Daniels’s voice. She wasn’t ready to talk to him this morning. She wasn’t just in the mood.
“Lisa if you don’t open the door I’m going to break it,” Daniel said and Lisa rolled her eyes. She dropped her phone, stood up from the bed, and walked toward the door. She then opened it.
“Lisa” Daniel called immediately and she opened the door.
Lisa stared at him for some seconds before moving away from the door and letting him walk in.
“Lisa I’m sorry, please. It’s my fault. I made a mistake here, I should have heard from you before jumping to conclusions ” Daniel pleaded and held Lisa’s both hands.
“I’m not angry at you. I understand anyone in your shoes would do the same” Lisa said and pulled her hands from his.
“Lisa please, ” Daniel said and moved towards her staring at those blue eyes and the next thing he did was unexpected.
He kissed her on her lips.
