She felt so warm and calm as Lisa hugged her. She didn’t know why but she felt there was something about this pregnant woman consoling her.
“Common, let’s go inside,” Lisa said as she stood up and helped her stand up from the ground.
“You need to cover up these tears. You properly do not want anyone to know you were crying” Lisa said and brought out the makeup on her bag and applied light makeup to Dina’s face.
“All done now,” Lisa said and Dina smiled at her, her eyes welled up in tears again.
“Thank you, ” Dina said
“Oh no, not again, you’re gonna ruin the make-up again,” Lisa said and cleaned her tears.
“Sorry,” Dina said and laughed, making Lisa smile.
“Smiling looks good on you. Let’s hang out during lunch today” Lisa said and Dina nodded in response.
“Let’s go,” Lisa said and they both walked inside the company only to see all the workers gathered smiling and clapping their hands as Lisa and Dina walked in.
Lisa stared at them in surprise wondering what was going on.
Dina and Lisa stared at each other and then back to the crowd and just then Daniel walked in with his PA by his side, Williams.
“I’m sure you’ve read the memo but I’ll officially introduce that Lisa has been officially promoted,” Daniel said as he walked towards Lisa who stared at him surprised.
“Keep up the good work Lisa” Daniel smiled and hugged Lisa briefly.
“Thank you,” Lisa said as she pulled away from the hug.
“Always welcome, ” Daniel said and just then William came and whispered into his ears.
“I have some important matters to attend to, see you around,” Daniel said and walked away.
“Congratulations, you deserve it,” Dina said and hugged her. They both pulled away from the hug staring at each other smiling.
“Congratulations Mrs. Lisa” one of her colleagues said as she walked toward Lisa smiling.
“Thank you, ” Lisa said and she smiled before walking away.
“Hmmm, this is partial. She just came in less than a week and she had been promoted, ” one of the workers said.
“She deserves it. I noticed how she worked hard during their project. Everyone had left, she was the only one in the company working on their project. I was a witness that day. Despite the fact she was pregnant” another worker defended and Dina smiled at Lisa.
“Most times we think nobody is watching us when we are doing things. But people are watching us without our notice” a voice said from behind.
“Martha” Lisa called out and hugged her.
“Congratulations hottie,” Martha said as they pulled away from the hug.
“Welcome,” Lisa said as they both smiled at each other. They both smiled at the walk towards Lisa’s table. Meanwhile, Dina has gone to hers.
“Who owns these bags on my table?” Lisa asked then she turned around only to see Derek, Julia, and joy smiling at her.
“Oh, this isn’t your table anymore. You should go to your office. Come I’ll show you” Julia said happily as Derek took her bag and joy held her hands while Julia led the way with Martha trailing behind them.
“Tada!!!! Welcome to your new office” Julia said as she opened the door to the office and Lisa opened her mouth wide in surprise.
“Wow, this is so… beautiful .” Lisa and Martha smiled.
“Isn’t this too much for me?” Lisa said and they all smiled.
“No it’s not Lisa” joy said
“Besides you’ll be more comfortable here,” Derek said as he dropped her bag on the table.
“I’m so happy for you Lisa, you deserve all of this. Congratulations ” Julia said and they all did a group hug.
Suddenly they heard the workers running and immediately everywhere became as quiet as a graveyard.
“What’s going on here?” They heard a voice. Lisa could recognize that voice anywhere. It was Daniel’s mom, Mrs. Bella.
“It’s the villain” Derek muttered as Mrs. Bella walked in looking as angry as ever.
“Hi, ma’am ” they all greeted as Mrs. Bella walked in majestically.
She stared at them hatefully, and they all bowed their heads.
“What are you all still staring at? Now get out” Mrs. Bella said and they all left leaving Lisa and Mrs. Bella alone in the office.
Lisa swallowed hard as she stared at Mrs. Bella.
“Nice office you’ve got,” Mrs. Bella said and smiled at Lisa devilishly.
” I wonder what charm you used on my son, not only that he made you stay in his house but also let you work in his company, and worst of all in less than a week you got promoted” Mrs. Bella chuckled slightly, staring at Lisa with the utmost surprise.
He wondered how Lisa did all of this in less than a month, she came into his life. It was not love, she believed his son was under a spell cast by Lisa.
“Well enjoy all you got now,” Mrs. Bella said as she moved towards Lisa, standing in front of her.
“Enjoy now, because it’s not going to last and I’ll make sure of that, pregnant whore” Mrs. Bella said and Lisa stared at her with no expression on her face.
Mrs. Bella stared at her angrily and was about to leave but then turned around and faced Lisa again.
“I know the fact that my son isn’t the father of the bastard you’re carrying, you only framed him with the pregnancy. The truth is gonna come to light soon and you’ll be exposed ” Mrs. Bella said and with that, he walked out of her office.
Lisa sighed softly, she placed her hands on her tummy, staring at nothing when Martha and the rest walked in.
“Oh poor Lisa” Derek said with a sad face and Lisa smiled at him.
“Please don’t let whatever she said get into you,” Martha said and Lisa nodded and smiled at her.
