Okay okay okay, this seems like a reunion between a mother and a child ” Andrew said and Alfred turned to him.
“Can you please just shut up already. You talk too much” Alfred said and walked out of the house.
He stood outside the house staring at the sky. He remembered when her mom was still alive, he took care of every one of his nerds, and paid him so much attention even though she was always busy. He loves his mom so much, she was his super hero until she was taken away the least time he had expected.
She died of cancer. After she left grandma was the only mom he had. She was there for him, took care of him. She just doesn’t want to lose her. He’s ready to do anything to make sure she’s going to get well. Even if it means going poor. He just doesn’t want to lose her and he’s ready to do anything to make her happy.

“Common grandma you’re funny ” Lisa laughed at the joke grandma Teresa made that made her smile.
“I do not know why Lisa, I find you so comforting and I feel you are going to restore back peace into my grandson’s life” she paused and touched Lisa’s hair smiling.
“Please, no matter what my son does please for my sake do forgive him” Teresa said in a teary tone and Lisa placed her hands on hers.
“For years, I have watched him suffer from the past. He ain’t got inner peace , this left me worried for a very long time but now I’m no longer worried. I’m at peace and I can finally go now that I know you’re with him” Teresa said and Lisa stared at her cluelessly not understanding what she meant by” she can finally go now.
“Lisa , promise me you’re gonna take care of him, I know he can be stubborn but…..”
“Common grandma, you should rest now. The doctor will be here to check on you. You should take your rest while I go bring your food” Lisa said and without saying any word she walked out of the room.
Immediately she came out and she met Andrew standing close to the door.
“Oh my goodness. You scared me” Lisa said and gave out a breath of relief.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to,” Andrew said nervously.
“Ohk, no problem, ” Lisa smiled at him.
“Grandma really seems to like you very much” Andrew said and Lisa nodded
“See Lisa, I’m sorry for the other day. I know you’re probably angry at me but I’m really sorry ” he said and Lisa smiled at him.
“It’s nothing. I understand how you felt that day, anyone in your shoes would probably feel the same way. Has the culprit being caught” she asked
“Oh Ria?” Andrew asked and Lisa mouthed an “oh, you knew”
“Yeah, well everything is sorted out but Ria is still out there somewhere ” Andrew said and raised his shoulder.
Suddenly, they heard the sound of grandma coughing. Lisa stared at Andrew and quickly opened the door.
“Grandma you alright?” Andrew and Lisa said at once in chorus and grandma turned to them.
“I’m fine” she said and then covered her mouth with her napkin as she kept on coughing.
When she removed the napkin, Andrew and Lisa both opened their mouths in shock as they felt their heart beat increase.
“B…l…oo…. d” Lisa muttered in fear

“Doctor, how is she?” Alfred asked the doctor who just came out of his grandmother’s ward.
“Mr Alfred, I’m sorry to say this” the doctor paused. Alfred felt his heartbeat increase at once and then the doctor finally spoke.
“She has cancer” Alfred felt numb immediately
“Cancer?” He asked to be sure of what he just heard.
“Yes cancer” the doctor said
“Oh no!! This was the same thing that killed my mother, I wouldn’t want it to kill my grandma too. Please doctor do anything to help her please I don’t want to lose her too, please ” Alfred muttered almost at the verge of tears. He was just trying to be strong at this moment. He can’t afford to lose his grandma, not now, not yet.
“Mr Alfred….” The doctor tried saying something but Alfred wasn’t paying any attention to him. he felt like he was going crazy, he just can’t lose his grandma.
“Andrew, go prepare all the papers, an urgent flight to China. We’re gonna take her to the best hospital there and get her treated” Alfred said and Andrew nodded and brought out his phone to make some calls.
“Mr Alfred..” the doctor tried talking to him but he walked away from him and walked inside his grandma’s ward.
Immediately, he got in and he met grandma lying on the bed , staring at the ceiling.
“Grandma ” Alfred muttered as felt tears slide down his cheeks.
“Alfred ” his grandma muttered weakly as he smiled at his grandson.
“I’m sorry grandma, I promise I’m going to make everything alright. I’m going to make sure you’re fine. You gonna be alright” Alfred said giving her assurance but deep down grandma Teresa knew there was no hope. She knew everything was never going to be fine, she was not going to be fine. she knew it was over for her. Her days on earth were complete.
She’s dying already, she can feel her spirit leaving her body, slowly . She was going to die and nothing could stop it but you know her greatest joy, she has hope, she believes everything is going to be fine with Alfred again as far Lisa is by his side.
She believes he’s going to have that peace of mind he’s always craved for.
“Grandma I promise you, you’re going to be fine,” Alfred said and grandma nodded. He just didn’t want to let his hopes down so she just stared at him as he assured her.
Just then Alfred heard his phone . He stared at the caller’s ID and quickly wiped his tears then walked out of the ward.
