Chapter 30
Just then Alfred walked inside his room , he was on a phone call with Andrew.
“Those fucking client are so stubborn. They were not as easy as you think Alfred but thankfully I convinced them and they signed it. This calls for celebration, I’ll be home in just 20 minutes” Andrew kept talking non stop and Alfred sighed.
“Okay but………” Alfred paused as she saw Lisa lying on the ground in the pool of her own blood.
“Alfred are you there?” Andrew asked as Alfred became silent.
“I’ll call you back Andrew, I got some important matters to handle” he said and ended the call.
He moved towards Lisa, bent to her level and touched her head which was still bleeding, then looked around his room but then she noticed something was off. His wardrobe was open.
He stood up and walked towards his wardrobe only to find out the paper he’d kept there yesterday was missing and now Lisa lying unconscious
“What a coincidence ” he thought

“What happened, why’s Lisa lying in your room with her head stitched?” Andrew asked as he walked inside the study room, removing his jacket.
“I don’t know but I think someone entered my room, took my company papers and then hit Lisa on the head” he said looking into his laptop.
“What? ” Andrew asked in shock
“H. how did someone even manage to get in your room or even the house? Where were the guards when all this was happening?” Andrew asked
“Well it was easier because someone from within is conniving with someone from the outside. So it made the operation an easier one” Alfred said and raised up his head to look at Andrew
“What? Why give me that look? I’m not working with anyone aside you neither I’m I the culprit ” he said nervously and Alfred chuckled silently.
“I never said you were the culprit or are you?” Alfred said and Andrew felt his heartbeat increase immediately.
“Nah! I’m definitely not the culprit ” he laughed nervously.
“If I ever find out you betray me Andrew, I won’t hesitate in killing you” he smiled and Andrew nodded.
“Well a guard of mine betrayed me and I’m gonna but I don’t know who yet” he paused and moved his eyes back to his laptop.
“But I’m going to find out” he muttered lowly
“But how?” Andrew asked cluelessly.
“CCTV footage” he said as he clicked on play on his laptop watching the CCTV footage. Andrew stood up and joined him in watching.
“Oh my goodness! Isn’t that Ria taking the wrist watch from your room?” Andrew muttered in shock.
“Wtf!!!”

After they both finished watching it Andrew sat in awe.
“Ria was the culprit all this whole and she had always been maltreating Lisa from the start ” Andrew asked in utmost surprise.
“Why would she do all of this?” Andrew muttered speechlessly
“I think she’s working for someone. See, Alfred you’ve got lots of enemies who probably want you dead and want your company down. I wonder who is actually the master planner of all this?” Andrew muttered
“Mr Hector,” Alfred said.
“I suspected something like this the day he confronted me and threatened me when we met at a party. I knew he was up to something with the way he kept boosting even when he knew his company was running down” he paused and picked up his pen.
“He planned everything but I didn’t really figure out it was actually going to be this way but I had to be ready. Although I knew someone from the inside was working with him, I didn’t know who it was nor did I try finding out who it was . I had lots of things to attend so I did the needful by moving all my papers and then replaced them with something fake. Whoever took those paper’s probably took a piece of trash” he scoffed and Andrew raised an eyebrow.
“Smart. But this poison stuff, were you expecting it?” Andrew asked
“Of Course yes but I wasn’t expecting myself to be poisoned in my own house. Quite smart of that girl Ria” he gave out a breath of relief.
“What about the guard?”
“He’s been put off the bar. He’s out of the picture ” he said
“You killed him?” Andrew asked
“Of Course not , I have my ways of making people pay Andrew. You should trust me on that” Andrew smiled at him.
“What about Ria? You gonna go after her for what she did? ”
” definitely not. She did it for a reason best known to her. I leave her to Mr Hector. He’s gonna punish her when he finds out the papers she took are fake” Alfred gave out a devilish smile.
“You know I really like that Mr Hector, he goes to any extent to get what he wants but I think I like you more cause you’re smarter” Andrew burst into laughter and Alfred hummed.
Andrew quickly replaced his laughter with a frown when he saw Alfred wasn’t smiling at him.
Oh my goodness. I thought Lisa was the bad guy here. I didn’t even believe her, I need to apologize ” Andrew thought in his head.
“So what About Lisa?” Andrew asked
“Don’t ask me about her. You can go see her if you want” Alfred said and stood up from his chair.
“You still gonna…….”
“Andrew, should I keep reminiscing about you? She’s a Cranston, she’s still the daughter of my enemy and at all cost I’ll still make her pay no matter what, till she begs for death. For now we have important matters to attend to” he said in his cold voice as usual, this time more colder than usual.
Andrew knows deep down Alfred might act like he’s not angry about everything that happened but deep in the inside he’s as angry as fuck and he’s gonna pour out all that anger on Lisa. Poor thing, Andrew thought.
Just then he heard his phone ring.
“It’s grandma calling ” Andrew said to Alfred who was about walking out buh then he paused and turned to him.
“Answer it” he said
Andrew quickly answered the call and placed it on a loudspeaker.
“Hello grandma ” he said happily
“Uhm, Andrew this isn’t grandma ” a voice said from the phone. Andrew recognized the voice immediately. It’s Hayley , the woman grandma is staying with, who is a distant relative of hers.
“Where’s grandma?”
“Andrew, I didn’t want you to hear this from me but…….”
