Jace’s POV
The cheers that went on for minutes filled my heart with joy, and I was very happy to finally witness Glen become the Alpha of this pack and Harley the Luna.
Yesterday, things were a little messy because we all couldn’t decide who should take over the ceremony.
Alpha Ian wanted Edith and Lexi to do it, but Glen and Light suggested the warlock Lee. For an hour, we all couldn’t come to an agreement.
Only when Sonya suggested having all three do it did we finally reach a consensus.
Watching those three take over the ceremony was history itself and very iconic.
They complemented each other so well when they needed to and made sure each had a turn to work things out. Edith was like a leader who looked so proud to have Lee and Lexi by her side.
“That’s some iconic shit, don’t you think?” Light asked, standing next to me.
“Why do you say that?” I asked, despite knowing what he meant.
“Edith is the most respected ancient witch that we know of, and Lexi is known and respected so much in Alpha Ian’s territory and some other territories. But who could have thought Lee, the warlock himself, would be present?” he asked with a smile.
“I have heard about him and what he did to help Alpha Ian’s pack. He is just awesome and amazing,” he said as I chuckled softly.
“You sound like a fan who is looking forward to meeting him,” I teased playfully, expecting him to be annoyed.
But when he kept quiet, I frowned and then smirked.
“Seriously?” I asked.
“What? He is the greatest warlock I know of, or should I say have heard of?” he asked, then shrugged.
“Don’t you dare!” he exclaimed.
I ignored him and raised my hand, waving at Lee.
He frowned and pointed at himself on the stage.
I quickly nodded and then smiled at Edith when she looked at me.
“How could you do this to me, Jace! We haven’t even taken anything! The best you could have done was allow me to take a shot or two,” he said as I laughed.
“Wow, I never thought such a day would come when I could see you panic,” I said simply.
“Yeah, right, it’s easy for you because you don’t idolize anyone,” he answered coldly as I shrugged.
“What can I say? I tend to love and idolize whoever I see as my soulmate,” I said calmly.
“Fuck, what happens when he comes here?” he asked loudly.
“Well, you will get to meet him. Isn’t that a fan’s dream? Moreover, he will be with Edith when he meets you, so you don’t have to act or be nervous,” I answered simply.
“Oh, and here they are, right behind you,” I said, then laughed softly when he tensed.
“You are having so much fun with my reactions, aren’t you?” he asked seriously as I tried so hard to mask my laughter.
“Alpha Jace, did you call for me?” Lee asked when he reached where we were.
“Oh no, I was calling Edith; you must have misunderstood,” I answered as Light gave me a murderous look.
“Oh well, since I’m already here, may I officially introduce myself?” he asked in a polite tone.
“Of course, please do,” I answered simply.
“I’m Lee, and I serve Alpha Ian’s pack,” he said as I raised a brow.
I had no idea he was officially introducing himself that way because the rumors I had heard said he stayed with the pure-blood vampire whom he served wholeheartedly.
“I’m honored to meet you, warlock. I am Jace, and this beside me is my Delta, Light,” I introduced.
He instantly smiled wider and then extended his hand to Light.
“I’m glad to meet you,” he said softly as Light looked at his hand and then at me.
“You better greet that hand before you turn out to be weird,” I mocked through our mind-link.
He hesitated but took his hand and shook it.
“I am embarrassed to say this, but Light is a huge fan of yours, and before you approached us, he was having a panic attack,” I said calmly as Light looked at me coldly.
“Is that true?” Lee asked after he had dropped his hand.
“Well, you are known in most territories, and I have heard stories about how you single-handedly helped Alpha Ian’s pack. I also heard how you helped Felix the purebred get a hold of her life by killing her parents,” he answered almost breathlessly.
When we all looked at him seriously, he cleared his throat and smiled.
“Something like that,” he whispered.
“I’m amazed and grateful to hear such words from you. I thought Felix and Ian were the most well-known in all territories. Hearing you say that makes me feel happy and a little flustered,” Lee said as Light held his hands, surprising us all.
“It’s truly a pleasure to meet you, sir,” he said loudly as he sighed heavily.
“Let go of his hand before you turn out to look like you are into him,” I warned through our mind-link.
He instantly let go of his hand and rubbed the back of his neck with his other hand.
“I’m sorry about that,” Light whispered in embarrassment.
“It’s okay; I am actually happy to hear that from you. Anyway, I am going to make a toast in the main hall to congratulate Alpha Glen and his mate, Harley. If it’s not too much to ask, would you like to join me?” Lee asked.
“Absolutely, please lead the way,” Light answered excitedly.
“Alpha Jace, do excuse us,” Lee said as I nodded.
I watched them with a smile as they disappeared into the crowd.
“Alpha, if you and the Luna want to leave right now, I can open a portal,” Edith said as I raised a brow.
“But you weren’t sure if it was safe for Lillian to travel through it to begin with. What changed?” I asked seriously.
“Oh, this time I will make sure that I add the necessary precautions for a pregnant she-wolf to use the portal,” she answered simply.
“Give me a second,” I whispered.
“Lillian, should we be on our way home?” I asked her through our mind-link.
“No, we need to see the ceremony through,” she answered, still using our mind-link.
“Are you sure?” I asked seriously.
“Of course, I am,” she answered.
“Fine, but once the celebration is over, we are going home,” I said seriously.
“Of course,” she answered simply.
