Vivian POV
“Vivian__” A familiar voice called behind me as I hurriedly hailed down a cab. I already knew it was Max but I ignored him, knowing fully well that he wouldn’t let me go.
“What the hell are you going? You’re not feeling__” Before he could even finish his statement, the car zoomed off immediately and I let out a long exhaustive breath.
‘I just hope Doctor Tim wouldn’t really reveal my baby to him or my mother’

It wasn’t long before I arrived back at the mansion and just like I expected, Mr Norman was already dressed in his commanding attire.
” You’re one minute behind time dear” He said on sighting me as I walked towards where he stood, his back relaxed at the car. Taking a close look at him, I observed the similarities between him and Max; the same authoritative poise, deadly aura, dominating, and dangerous, even their features in some parts was slightly the same and I realized where Max got his muscles even when he didn’t do much workout.
“I’m sorry Father, something came up with I and Max” I apologized, bowing slightly but he tapped my shoulders, a smile adorning his cheeks.
“Hey, don’t be so tightened up, I don’t bite, get in the car” He relished and instantly, the car door was flung open by the guards who stood close towards is.
As soon as I got into the car, Mr Norman also got in and sat beside me as he fastened his seat belts likewise mine, the ac flushed through my already heated skin, soothing the pores of heat that had already developed on my palms out of nervousness and within few seconds, it took off in a high speed, making me jerk slightly where I sat if not for the seat belt that held my body in place.
Silence enveloped between us s I fondled with my fingers, looking down to my hands. Max was Stern against leaving with is father but I had disobeyed that because I felt something wasn’t right.
With the corner of my eyes, I took a peek at Mr Norman’s face, his gaze seemed to be focused more on the road ahead.
I wondered where we were going and being the type that wouldn’t hesitate in revealing her curiosity, I braced myself to ask him the question.
” Can I ask a question father?” I began, my heart raced as the words left my lips, fearing the worst of his outburst but instead, all my nerves relaxed the moment he nodded his head at me in affirmation. All the Morales I had managed to bury fully surfaced now.
I cleared my throat ” Where are we going?” I asked, although with a bit nervousness.
He went silent, as if contemplating with my words. This was the same attitude that Max usually portrayed if he wanted to be humorous, thy possessed the same attitude.
” Brave indeed” He said out Lord, not glancing at me, his gaze still fixed on the road ahead. ” You’re really the right choice for Max” He cocked his head towards me, his eyes now fixed intently on mine.
Somehow, anxiety coursed through me at his words, even as it seemed like I didn’t understand what he meant by those remarks, I knew there was an underlying meaning behind it. Truly, wherever we were going would not be a joke.
” Like I told you before, we are going to the headquarters of the Norman enterprise, wouldn’t you like to see that?” He asked with sinister smirk on his face this time around.
I gulped down, avoiding his intent gaze outrightly.
Why would he suddenly want me to visit the Norman’s enterprise? The most facilitated company in the city, built with the strongest of iron ores and gold relics. It was said that it was the safe bag of the Norman’s, even governments was impenetrable in their system with high discrepancy. So with all these, why exactly would he need me there since it was strictly ran private by him personally; strange! Really creep
Everything felt off at the moment. Both the fact that I was going alone with him as well the company itself.
One would think I should feel relaxed since I was close with Max’s father and the fact that he was the main reason I had gotten married to Max in the first place, if I hadn’t saved the old man that day from the car accident that almost claimed his life, perhaps, I wouldn’t even cross into any romantic relationship with Max.
“Vivian?” He called again, snapping me out of my thoughts.
“Yes, Father. I _ I would like to see it ” I stammered, feeling a cold surge of anxiety course through me again, powerful than the latter and before I could even gather my thoughts, the car pulled to a stop and as I stared out through the window, my eyes widened in awe at the magnificent building that stretched tall in my eyes; Heavily built, powerful as if made exclusively by the strongest pair of arms in the world, the building stood magnifying in view, the roofing seemed like a skyscraper that almost pointed its tip to the clouds. O didn’t realize when Mr Norman had alighted from the car as all rational and conscious thoughts seemed to have fled from me, solemnly replaced with the mighty building in front of me. Through the transparent glass doors, I saw the elevator move up with different people all holding to one file or another. What laid before me was more beautiful than what was casted on TV’s.
“Vivian, you should come down now, we’re almost late for what we came for” Mr Norman tapped me through the window and I jerked, regaining my self-consciousness at once and quickly stepped down from the car without much hesitation, my eyes was still stuck on the building.
How many floors was there? 300? 400? I asked myself, wondering how it was possible to have built something like this.
No doubt, I was about walking into a place that costs billions of dollars, where money ruled people with contempt, would I make it out here safe?
