Peterson’s POV.
“What do you know about the committee of six, Peterson?”
I heard a husky voice from behind, causing me to turn around quickly in defense as I raised my eyebrows.
I couldn’t see who the person was because of how dark my room was. I quickly stretched my hand to the switch but then, my table lamp wasn’t there any longer.
I jolted up with full speed as I reached for the switch on the wall to turn on my room light but then, it wouldn’t come on.
“Who are you?”
I turned around this time around as I frowned. “I… I guess you are the unknown person who texted me earlier.” I scoffed as I stood firmly, ready to defend myself.
“Can you not try any harder?”
The man said groggily this time around as he remained there, only his long thick coat was visible and from his chest upwards, it was completely dark considering the place he stood.
I looked at his hands as I saw a tattoo on both hands. I squinted my eyes, trying to decipher the tattoo.
He quickly noticed, drawing his hands backwards as he adjusted backwards.
“I see, you blew it up.”
He snapped and I just couldn’t explain how I was suddenly able to feel the emotion that came with that statement.
“Blew it up?” I said to myself, completely confused with everything going on right that moment.
“What do you mean by I blew it up?” I couldn’t help but ask as I raised my eyebrows.
“You were meant to keep it as a secret but then, you went out and confronted a faction member, Logan Bohen.”
The man shrugged.
He had this domineering aura that came with strength and authority and I could feel my wolf trembling before him.
He had this darkness that hovered around him. And I could confidently tell that there was something particularly off with him.
“What is your interest in Liam’s death?” I sneered as I raised my eyebrows.
“He was meant to be the key to unlock the new beginning. But guess the founders’ will always be killers!!” The man scowled in a deep and daring voice and I could tell that he was getting angrier than he seemed to be earlier when he made his way in.
“What do you mean he was meant to be the key?” I furrowed my eyebrows in total
confusion as I kept staring at him.
I looked right into the darkness, even if I didn’t know if I was getting a direct face off with whoever it was.
“And what new beginning?” I scowled as I adjusted backwards.
“You know, if you seem to know too much, you will only get yourself killed.” He said calmly this time around. “But then, wouldn’t you want to know too much?” The man chuckled gently.
I kept thinking hard about what he meant by Liam being the key and what new beginning Liam was to unlock as the key.
It all didn’t make a single sense as I continued staring into the darkness, making judgment based on the down part of his body.
“If you think you scare me, then you must be joking!!” I snarled, trying to act confident as I wore a visible frown on my face.
“I don’t want to scare you.” He said in a relaxed tone as he took his hands away from his back, flinging it in the hair for a while before tucking them back in his coat.
And the few moments his hands were out, I was able to finally make a complete caricature sketch of it in my head.
But then, I was the one now left with so many questions as I kept staring into the dark.
“If you are here to kill me, then have at it instead of telling me boring tales I do not want to have any part in.” I cursed, doing my possible best to provoke him.
With his tattoo, I could tell he belonged to a secret society. But what I couldn’t tell was if he was a werewolf.
“Oh! F*ck!!” I cursed at the realization of his identity.
“If he wasn’t a werewolf, how did he manage to get up here?” I scowled as my eyes went wide as I looked at him, adjusting back, making an attempt to run away for my life.
I immediately had a change of mind as I used my heightened speed as I rushed him. I stretched out my hand, ready to push it in and crush his heart then plunge it out as I watched him fall to his knee as blood gushed out from his mouth.
But then, I guess I had underestimated him. And what followed next, accompanying my initial thought, it was the reverse now.
He had intercepted halfway. Pinning me to the wall as he tightened his grip.
“Go ahead! Isn’t it why you are here? To kill me? Go ahead with it, have at it!!” I growled angrily as he pinned me very tight to the wall as his hand around my throat tightened further till I couldn’t feel my legs on the wall.
“Kill you, is it?” He said in a husky voice as he remained still.
I felt my bone getting weak as the full moon was getting up and gradually, slowly, I could feel my bones cracking.
“Argh!” I screamed as I looked at the stranger who still wouldn’t let go of me.
“Who are you?” I cursed angrily as tears rolled down my cheeks. “Why aren’t you transforming? You… You are not a werewolf, are you?” I scowled as I felt every single bone cracking and reforming in my body.
I couldn’t comprehend the shock that overwhelmed me as he was still able to hold me tight, pinned to the wall.
My fangs and claws sprouted out and this time around, I was in the apex of my transformation which gave me more strength than usual, making me strong enough to break through but then, the moment I broke free, he vanished into thin air.
