“Mr. Haworth said not to worry, and he’s determined to uphold justice! We’ve already signed the contract. If he backs out now, it would be a breach of contract.”
A law firm’s breach of contract would have significant repercussions.
They generally wouldn’t choose to take such a step.
“Oh, it’s good that you found a lawyer.” Malcolm was puzzled but didn’t say much. “By the way, where’s Tilda? I called her, but she didn’t answer. Is she still asleep?”
Rosalind paused, coughed lightly, and then spoke.
“Well… she made up with Johnny.”
“What?!”
“Malcolm, I know you’re worried Johnny might hurt Tilda. I wasn’t fond of Johnny at first, but after what has happened, I believe Johnny is serious about Tilda, and Tilda genuinely likes him.”
The most important thing was that Tilda liked him.
Even if she tried hard to hide it, Rosalind could see it clearly.
Otherwise, Tilda wouldn’t cry so often-crying while watching TV, during meals, even shedding tears in the shower. Her pregnancy made her emotions unstable, but more than that, she felt wronged and stifled and couldn’t bear to part with the child she was carrying.
“But Johnny is a playboy! He fools around with women! A friend of mine knows him and doesn’t think highly of him!” Malcolm was concerned about his cousin and had discreetly gathered information about Johnny.
The findings made him want them to break up immediately!
When he heard of their breakup, he was relieved. However, they got back together so soon!
“Tilda knows all this.”
“That’s why I’m afraid she’s been brainwashed! You know what Tilda’s like. She can’t resist a handsome face, and Johnny really is good-looking.”
Although Malcolm didn’t want to admit it, both Ulric and Johnny were impeccably handsome.
“Tilda isn’t as naive as you think! When Johnny was pursuing her, he put in a lot of effort, and Tilda didn’t agree at first! They broke up because of some misunderstandings. Now that those are cleared up, it’s normal for them to reconcile! Don’t worry about it. Tilda can make her own decisions.”
Rosalind didn’t elaborate on the misunderstandings.
It wasn’t anything good anyway. Telling Malcolm would only make him panic more.
“When you reach Tilda, have her call me back! I want to talk to her.” Malcolm still felt uneasy.
Rosalind smiled, “Alright.”
After hanging up the phone, she sent Tilda a message, saying that Malcolm wanted her to call back.
Rosalind feared she might forget later.
Once everything was done, she put down her computer and walked over to the window to look outside.
The neighborhood had quite a few residents. The pedestrians below moved in small groups, creating a lively scene.
Rosalind carefully scanned the area multiple times. Only after confirming she didn’t see the figure she hoped for did she step away from the window.
Ulric had truly left.
He even suggested she should go find Malcolm the next time she got drunk!
This realization made Rosalind feel a sense of loss. Her heart clenched.
Even though she knew this day would come eventually, no amount of preparation could ease the heartache.
Her phone rang again, pulling her out of her daze.
Rosalind pressed the answer button and heard Audrey’s contemptuous and arrogant voice on the other end.
“You want to sue me? Rosalind, stop dreaming! You won’t win.”
