Chapter 478: You Can’t Afford It

A moment later, a Cayenne pulled in. Natalie stepped out in a bright red dress, big sunglasses, and her curly hair flowing in the wind.
One of the staff saw her and quickly rushed over. “Miss King, what a surprise to see you!”
“How could a sports car lover like me miss an event like this?” Natalie said with her usual charming smile.
“Please, this way.”
Bianca followed the staff member into the main hall. The sight in front of her left her in awe. The whole place looked like a glasshouse, and the ceiling sparkled like the night sky.
Bright lights lit up the space, making everything shine.
Models stood beside luxury cars, adding to the glamorous vibe of the room.
“This is breathtaking,” Bianca whispered.
Wyatt walked beside her, smiling. “This car show is made for the elite. Of course, it’s going to be this grand.”
“Wait, a luxury car show?” Bianca stopped, surprised.
“Yes,” Wyatt said. “It’s the most high-end auto show in the world. Not one car here costs less than a million.”
“Oh God…”
Bianca slowly realized this event was way more extravagant than she expected. She felt a little out of place.
Wyatt saw the look on her face and gave her a reassuring smile. “My boss said you’re free to choose any car you like.”
She glanced around at the cars. They were sleek, and detailed, and looked way too expensive for her.
Just as she thought about how to politely ask to leave, a familiar voice called from behind.
“Wow, is that Bianca Scott, the famous agent?”
Bianca turned around and saw Natalie standing nearby. Her arms were crossed, and her chin was slightly raised like she owned the place.
“Didn’t expect to see you here, Miss King,” Bianca said with a tight smile. She hoped the talk would end there.
But Natalie had other plans. She walked up to Bianca, gave Wyatt a quick glance, and raised one eyebrow. It was her way of pointing out the man with Bianca.
She figured Bianca had moved on to someone new. The man looked like he was in his fifties and had a cold stare that could scare people off.
Even Natalie didn’t want to look him in the eye for too long.
In her mind, Bianca wasn’t too picky. She thought Bianca would stick with any man as long as it helped her financially.
Natalie touched her nose, trying to hide the smirk forming on her lips.
“I guess this gentleman is the reason how you got into this high-end event,” she said with a sharp tone.
Bianca understood what Natalie meant but didn’t bother to argue. She just gave a small smile and said, “You could say that.”
“He looks important. What does he do?” Natalie asked, digging for more.
Wyatt, who had stayed quiet, finally looked at her and said in a cold voice, “That’s none of your business.”
Natalie’s face turned red as anger burned inside her. The corners of her mouth twitched.
She didn’t expect to be treated like this. In the entertainment world, people usually admired her looks and charm. But this man didn’t just ignore her-he insulted her. How could someone like him brush her off?
Her eyes filled with frustration. Bianca noticed and had to fight back a laugh. In her mind, she was cheering Wyatt on.
“Let’s go. The cars here aren’t that impressive,” Wyatt said to Bianca. His voice was calm but firm. “Let’s check the other side.”
Wyatt didn’t look back at Natalie. He guided Bianca toward the more private section of the show.
Natalie’s irritation deepened. She looked around and saw they were surrounded by sports cars worth millions. Wyatt’s cold attitude made her wonder who he really was.
She knew how risky it was to step on the wrong toes at events like this. One mistake could hurt her career.
She stood there, annoyed, as Bianca and Wyatt walked away. Once they were far enough, Natalie turned to her assistant.
“Follow them. Take pictures and videos. Once we get enough proof, let’s see how long she acts proud.”
“Got it,” the assistant said, then quietly followed after them.
As they stepped in, rows of sports cars in bold colors and sleek designs came into view. Bianca’s eyes lit up at the sight.
“Do any of these stand out to you?” Wyatt asked politely as he looked around.
Bianca placed a hand on her chin, trying to stay calm. “These cars are beautiful, but they don’t seem practical. I think I’ll pass today. None of them really caught my interest.”
Wyatt, however, could tell she was holding back.
He smiled and said, “My boss told me not to come back if I don’t find the perfect car for you today. Miss Scott, please don’t make it hard for me.”
Bianca didn’t know what to say.
She understood Wyatt’s situation, but the cars were far too expensive.
When she first met Dave, she thought he didn’t have much. She always imagined that if they got married, they would need to be careful with money. Because of that, she lived simply. She wore plain clothes and didn’t spend much on food. Being told to spend freely now made her feel uncomfortable.
Even though she knew who Dave really was and how rich he was, she still couldn’t fully understand how much money he had.
While she was lost in thought, a staff member suddenly pulled off a red cloth, revealing a bright red sports car. It had a smooth shape and bold color. The doors opened upward like angel wings, making it look both powerful and graceful.
The car grabbed everyone’s attention. People moved closer to the stage.
Bianca was drawn to its beauty. She couldn’t take her eyes off it. Wyatt noticed it and urged her, “Go ahead, take a closer look.”
Just then, the host picked up a microphone and spoke.
“This is a limited edition Lamborghini. It’s the only one in the country. We’re auctioning it today, and the highest bidder will take it home!”
The crowd buzzed with excitement. Many people looked ready to compete for the car.
“What do you think of this car?” Wyatt asked softly.
“It’s stunning, but an auction can turn into a money pit. We should steer clear,” Bianca responded promptly.
Natalie suddenly cut in with a sharp mocking tone. “Are you staying away because you don’t want to join, or because you can’t afford it?”
