Chris let out a cold laugh. “You want to take my mother-in-law? Keep dreaming.”
Hearing this, the vampires’ faces turned grim. Their eyes, now filled with caution, focused intently on Chris.
The vampire who had been kicked earlier struggled to his feet. He was a Vampire Earl. Staring at Chris with burning rage, he asked, “Do you dare ruin Lord Nicolas’s plans? Are you seeking death?”
Chris’s expression was filled with disdain as he retorted, “Nicolas? I don’t even take him seriously. Let me make this clear-no matter who you are, this is my mother-in-law. Nobody is taking her.”
The Earl bellowed in anger, “Kill him!”
At his command, several vampires lunged at Chris. Among them, aside from the Earl, were a few Vampire Viscounts.
However, they were no match for Chris.
Chris snorted coldly and was about to charge forward when, suddenly, a figure darted past him.
He turned his head and saw that it wasn’t anyone else-it was Serendipity.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
A series of explosive sounds echoed. In just moments, the vampires were sent flying by Serendipity’s swift and powerful strikes.
Seeing this, Chris gave Serendipity a deep, evaluating glance.
It was evident that her strength was on par with his own. Yet Chris was puzzled-why had the Dark World captured her? And why had they imprisoned her in the Dark Prison, binding her with chains?
What unsettled him even more was the thick Demon Spirit emanating from Serendipity during her attacks. This energy was unique to the Dark World. Without a doubt, Serendipity was one of them.
This realization sparked a sense of wariness in Chris. He knew she wasn’t ordinary and decided to remain on guard.
Suddenly, a surge of black Demon Spirit enveloped Chris’s arms. In an instant, both his hands turned pitch black.
Clenching his fists, Chris launched a devastating punch at the vampires.
Boom!
With one strike, he killed one of the vampires instantly.
“How dare you cause trouble in the Martin family’s domain! Do you even know who Nicolas is?”
A thunderous voice echoed, and a man in a black cape appeared, moving with blinding speed.
In the blink of an eye, he was standing in front of Chris.
This man was none other than Nicolas Martin, the Vampire Sovereign of the Martin family.
Without hesitation, Nicolas threw a punch at Chris. A terrifying wave of power surged toward him.
Chris quickly raised his hands to block, but the force sent him stumbling backward.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Chris was forced several steps back before stopping, blood spilling from his mouth.
Wiping the blood from his lips, Chris finally got a clear look at the man before him.
Nicolas had an extremely pale complexion, strikingly red lips, and razor-sharp fangs. Despite his eerie appearance, his beauty was almost otherworldly-enough to drive women mad.
Dark energy radiated from Nicolas, and Chris didn’t need to guess-this was a powerful member of the Blood Clan.
Chris frowned in surprise. “A Vampire Sovereign?”
After their brief clash, Chris could feel the overwhelming strength of his opponent. He hadn’t expected to encounter a Blood Clan Sovereign.
Sovereigns of the Blood Clan were at the Elysium level of power, far beyond Chris’s current capabilities.
Nicolas studied Chris with a furrowed brow. “So, you’re the one disrupting Lord Blackthorn’s plans-Chris, is it?”
The brief exchange had confirmed Chris’s identity for Nicolas. He hadn’t expected Chris to finally arrive.
Chris’s face remained cold. “And you must be the Sovereign of the Martin family.”
Despite his composed demeanor, Chris felt the pressure. He knew he wasn’t fully prepared to take on someone like Nicolas.
Though he had the option of using the Iced Flame, it was a double-edged sword-unpredictable and dangerous even to himself. He wouldn’t use it unless absolutely necessary.
Nicolas, a prodigy of the Martin family, had risen from an ordinary vampire to a Sovereign in just three centuries. Among the five Blood Clan Sovereigns, Nicolas was the youngest and most powerful, rumored to be capable of surpassing even the Blood Clan’s progenitor, Cain.
Chris nodded. “Yes, I’m Chris. You captured my mother-in-law to lure me out, didn’t you?”
As he spoke, Chris glanced to the side-and froze.
Serendipity was gone.
His brows knitted together. He couldn’t understand why she had suddenly vanished. Had she abandoned him? If the two of them had joined forces, they might have stood a chance against Nicolas.
Nicolas let out a triumphant laugh. “Chris, oh Chris, you’ve finally come. Once I capture you and present you to Lord Blackthorn, he’ll favor me greatly. With his rewards, I’ll become the strongest practitioner in the Blood Clan!”
Throughout the encounter, Susan had been hiding behind Chris, trembling in fear.
To her, Nicolas was a true monster. Not only had he captured her, but he also intended to turn her into a vampire.
Susan shuddered at the thought. She didn’t want to become a creature condemned to eternal darkness, drinking human blood to survive.
Chris sneered at Nicolas. “Capture me? Look at yourself. You’re nothing but a wretched creature who can’t even stand the light of day. And you think you can take me? What a joke.”
Boom!
A terrifying killing intent exploded from Nicolas.
As a Sovereign, Nicolas had never been spoken to in such a manner.
Grinding his teeth, he growled, “Chris, I’ll bite you and drain every drop of your blood. I’ll turn you into one of us. Then we’ll see if you can still talk like that.”
With a deafening roar, Nicolas charged at Chris.
His speed was extraordinary, and in an instant, he was upon him.
Chris quickly pushed Susan aside and met Nicolas head-on.
The two clashed fiercely, their battle shaking the ground around them.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
