Arya’s POV
My eyes fluttered open. There was light coming only From my left and right. I blinked. Where the hell was I?
Where was chamberlain? He’s on a holiday at the human side. Good. Chase? Angus? None of these people could feature in my last moments. I sighed.
For a moment I just stayed still. My head was pounding with a rhythmic pain. What happened? Was I out drinking again with Kelsi? I searched my brain but I couldn’t find Kelsi in my last moments. What the hell happened.
I closed my eyes. Trying to remember. And I sure did. My eyes snapped open and I sprang up. So it was not a dream. The man touching my thighs and all. I turned my head frantically. From the look of things, I think I was in a car. Yes. I looked down. Wiggled. I felt no pain. Even there were no scars either. So what happened?
Wait who’s car is it then?
That was when someone turned around from the passenger seat and stared at me with a bright smile.
“Finally you are awake!” She shrieked. I squinted.
“Who are you?”
She smiled. ” I’m sorry for not introducing myself. My name is Iris, I work for Alpha Jake”
Jake? How did Jake find me? I look down at my body again and I still do not see any marks or scratching.
Suddenly I heard someone scream. I immediately leaped to the car window. I flung my head around looking for the source of thar noise.
The screaming continued and I followed the voice, and there I could see Jake standing and he was kicking a man in the floor. It must be that man who tried to attack me.
I moved to open the car door bit the lady in the car with me stopped me.
“You can’t leave miss Arya” I snapped my eyes at her. Even though she told me her name, I knew absolutely nothing about her.
“Alpha Jake said it’s safer to stay in the car. The man is a vampire that has silver in his blood stream” I looked out the window and he was kicking the man. One bite from infected vampires and it would be over for a werewolf.
I stared at them one more time and turned back to the lady in the car with me.
“Tell me what happened”
She nodded.
,”I had come here in the order of the alpha. He had in his arms and he put you in the car. You were unconscious. He stopped here and pulled the man out of the car boot and began to give him a beating of his life ”
I nodded.” And what happened next?”
She shook her head. ” Nothing else happened until you woke up”
I nodded. I looked out through the window and could still see Jake punching that man. It was too severe that I shuddered. I wasn’t going to deny the fact that I had some sort of pity for the man.
Suddenly the lady in front of the car sighed eeply and slumped deeper into the chair.
“What is it? “I blurted out without thinking.
She turned to me and her face had fallen like a pack of card. Even before she opened her mouth I felt sad for her. “It is not a really. It is just that I have…. I have… I feel pity for alpha Jake. Yesterday in his secret home, he was attacked and beaten by somebody ”
I narrowed my eyes. “Who came over? do you know who came over?”
She shook her head. “But I think he is an alpha just like alpha Jake. I think they have some bad blood between them. That alpha threatened”she’s squinted I should try to recollect.”the alpha told him to stay away. I couldn’t get his name but I think ….”
Immediately my mind flew to somewhere. I would be angry if chase was involved in this.
“Is…. is” I licked my lips and swallowed. My throat was suddenly dry. ” Is the alpha’s name Chase?”
Her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. ” Yes! Yes that’s him, I heard it when the other maids were talking”
My eyes widened the size of a watermelon. My heart began to race. Oh no what has Chase gone over there to do. I turned back to the window.
Suddenly Jake looked up and we locked gaze. He pushed the man and began walking towards the car. I was scared that the man could stand up and attack Jake, but as soon as he stopped a group of men began beating the man again.
Jake swung open the door. He was breathing heavily.”are you all right? When did you wake up? ”
I opened my mouth to answer but the lady in the passenger seat beat me to it.”your Highness it is not been long she woke up ”
He nodded. Jake looked at me and then couldn’t maintain eye contact. He rubbed the back of his neck and glanced back at me.”do you want to eat anything? Are you hungry? ”
I stared at his knuckles scraped and swelling. His shirt was torn at the collar, and there was dried blood on his cheek.
I crossed my arms, heart pounding. “how can I eat seeing you like this? “I try to understand why you would be bruise. The marks on him weren’t all from the man who was beating. He had too much wounds all over.
“Chase did this to you?”
He didn’t look at me right away. Just stared out at the street like it could explain something. “I handled it.”
“handle what? Why didn’t you tell me!” My voice cracked. “Why?”
Jay finally looked at me, jaw tight. “Because he isn’t worth it”
I stepped closer, anger and confusion wrestling in my chest. “that’s bullshit”
Jake chuckled.
“We need to talk” I said. He nodded. The lady in the car came down and I went over to the passenger seat. He got into the car. Jake flashed me a smile before he started the car.
“Can you drive?” I asked and he nodded smiling.
“Of course”
