Chapter 60: Beg Me

Book:It All Turns Out Great Published:2025-4-9

Clara was sleeping soundly but was awakened by Ethan. Now, she couldn’t fall back asleep.
She looked at Ethan’s profile.
His face was flawless from every angle.
He looked handsome no matter how she saw him.
Handsome when awake.
Handsome even when asleep.
Such a good-looking man was actually her husband… Clara felt a sudden sense of joy.
While she was feeling secretly happy, Ethan suddenly opened his eyes and looked at Clara.
Caught in the act of peeking, Clara’s face turned red. She looked at Ethan, stammering.
“Not sleeping?” Ethan asked.
Clara replied, “I will, I will.”
After speaking, she quickly turned over, facing away from Ethan, and closed her eyes pretending to sleep.
She didn’t dare not to sleep.
“Don’t sleep,” Ethan said coldly.
She opened her eyes, turned over to face Ethan, and asked cautiously, “What’s wrong?”
Was he not allowing her to sleep?
Ethan didn’t speak, just looked at Clara coldly.
She felt puzzled by Ethan’s gaze.
Why was he looking at her like that?
Why wasn’t he saying anything?
If he had something to say, he should just say it.
He was clearly unhappy.
But… what did she do to make him unhappy?
Clara was completely confused, not knowing what she had done to upset him.
Why was he suddenly angry?
Not even letting her sleep?
Could it be… because she was looking at him earlier and he got angry?
Maybe he didn’t like being watched?
Ethan looked at Clara’s confused expression and felt even more frustrated.
“Think for yourself,” Ethan said coldly.
Think for herself?
She couldn’t figure it out on her own.
She didn’t know why Ethan was angry.
And now he wanted her to think about it herself.
“… I won’t secretly look at you while you’re sleeping anymore,” Clara said cautiously.
After thinking it over, this was the only reason she could come up with: she had been watching him while he slept, and he got angry.
Maybe he thought she was like a pervert, spying on him.
He probably didn’t like being spied on.
She could understand that. Who would want to be spied on?
Ethan looked at Clara.
Frowning.
Was this what Clara thought of?
Did she think he was angry because she watched him while he slept?
In her mind, did he seem like a lunatic?
How could a normal person get angry over such a thing?
And he certainly wouldn’t.
With his stunning looks, he wasn’t afraid of being looked at.
“Think again,” Ethan said, his voice even colder than before, with a hint of anger.
Think again?
Even if she thought again, she couldn’t figure it out.
Everything had been fine when they parted ways last night and this morning.
In the morning, he even instructed the kitchen to make chicken soup for her health.
So, he wasn’t angry in the morning.
It must have been something from last night then.
Last night she came home very late… but she didn’t say or do anything wrong.
Could it be…
“You still want…?” Clara asked softly, blushing.
Ethan frowned at Clara.
Was she trying to drive him crazy?
“Will you give it?” Ethan asked.
Clara’s face turned even redder. Looking at Ethan, she felt speechless… so it really was about that.
“… Yes,” Clara nodded shyly and reluctantly.
Since he wanted it,
What else could she do?
She had no choice but to comply obediently.
After all… Ethan had already said that if she didn’t behave… he would make her a widow.
She didn’t want him to become a widower.
She wanted to live well.
Ethan looked at Clara… this girl really made him speechless sometimes.
It was almost laughable and cryable at the same time.
“I didn’t come home last night… what do you think I was doing?” Ethan asked.
It seemed… letting the girl figure it out on her own wasn’t going to work.
Maybe her intelligence wasn’t enough for this task.
Clara blinked and said, “Socializing.”
She felt a bit puzzled.
Why ask this suddenly?
“When I socialize, are you worried?” Ethan asked.
Clara replied, “… Worried about what?”
Ethan felt that talking to her lowered his own IQ.
As a woman, did she have no sense of crisis at all?
Didn’t she know what normal women would worry about?
“Aren’t you worried… that I might be fooling around with other women outside?” Ethan asked with a frown, staring closely at Clara.
Clara froze for a moment, her eyes widening in surprise as she looked at Ethan.
She… hadn’t really thought about that before.
Since their marriage until now, it hadn’t been long. And during this time, she felt her life was chaotic and hadn’t sorted things out yet. How could she think so much…
Now that she thought about it… maybe Ethan could be fooling around while socializing outside.
She felt… unsure if she could accept it or not.
Growing up, she had seen such things often enough.
Men would always bring various beautiful women when they socialized…
She had seen many and heard many stories… although it was an abnormal thing, seeing and hearing it often made it more acceptable over time.
Now hearing about other men fooling around outside, she thought… aren’t all men like this?
But she hadn’t thought Ethan would be like that.
However, now thinking about it wasn’t too late either.
Clara began to imagine such a scene: in a KTV room, Ethan holding a woman, the two laughing and drinking… even dancing closely together, doing more intimate things…
Her heart suddenly tightened as if something grabbed it tightly, making it hard to breathe.
“You…” Clara looked at Ethan, not knowing what to say.
She wanted to ask if Ethan could avoid fooling around with other women outside?
But… if she asked, would Ethan listen?
Ethan looked at Clara.
Waiting for her to speak.
She didn’t know how to say it either.
In her heart, of course, she hoped Ethan wouldn’t fool around with those dubious women outside. But if she said it, would Ethan listen? Wouldn’t he think she had no right to control his actions?
But if she said it didn’t matter how he played outside and that she didn’t mind… would Ethan think she didn’t care about him?
“Do you… have any?” Clara asked.
Ethan looked at Clara. He had just mocked the girl’s intelligence in his mind. Now… suddenly she became smart enough to throw the question back at him.
Making him answer instead.
“What if I say yes?” Ethan raised an eyebrow and asked.
Clara’s heart felt like it was being squeezed tightly by a hand again. This time… it hurt a lot more.
Both painful and uncomfortable.
Looking at Ethan, her lips moved as if wanting to speak but… not a word came out for a long time.
She didn’t know what to say.
Ethan looked at Clara’s expression… the girl’s eyes seemed to be getting red.
Was she going to cry?
Ethan looked at her and said, “Since you mind so much, why didn’t you ask me where I went when I didn’t come home last night? You were sleeping quite soundly alone at home.”
She… hadn’t thought about that issue before.
When Ethan didn’t come home, she assumed he was busy working or socializing… but how exactly he socialized wasn’t something she considered.
Now thinking about it… indeed overthinking only made herself feel worse,
“Then…” Clara looked at Ethan and said with a hint of pleading, “Can you not fool around with those women outside?”
Ethan looked at Clara and raised an eyebrow: “Beg me.”
Beg him for this?
Since they were married now, being loyal to their marriage and faithful to his wife was something a husband should do. It was clearly his responsibility but now he wanted her to beg him for it.
It was really too much.
Moreover… even if she begged him now would he really stop fooling around outside?
