“Charlotte, let me remind you, if my future is ruined, it won’t benefit you at all,” David warned before leaving as well.
In the living room, only Charlotte, who was trembling with anger, and Isabella, who had been watching the show, were left.
“Auntie, aren’t you the best at raising other people’s children? When Elowen gives birth to my little brother, you’ll raise him just as well as you raised me,” Isabella said with a cold smile. She then slowly got up from the sofa and walked towards the villa’s exit.
As she stepped outside, Olivia was waiting by her Maserati, looking impatient.
“You’re back?” Isabella asked with a cheerful smile.
“Elowen’s already back; what am I still doing over there?” Olivia replied.
“Get in the car,” Isabella said as she unlocked the door with her electronic key. She and Olivia got into the car one after the other.
Isabella started the engine and turned the steering wheel, asking, “Did you find out anything new so quickly?”
“Of course,” Olivia said proudly.
“Spit it out, no need to be coy,” Isabella gave her a stern look.
Olivia huffed in dissatisfaction and said, “Elowen bribed the doctor at their small town hospital to not only give her a fake certificate but also provide her with abortion pills.”
After hearing this, Isabella responded indifferently, “Well, Elowen isn’t stupid. The due date wouldn’t match up; once the baby is born, her lie would be exposed. She’ll probably abort it while it’s still early.”
“The baby in her belly is truly pitiful,” Olivia sighed.
“Elowen never considered the baby in her belly as a living being. That embryo was merely her tool to return to the Harris family and live a life of luxury. It’s better for the child not to be born than to be born into misery. Let’s hope it can reincarnate into a good family,” Isabella said.
Olivia nodded in agreement.
“Tell Lily to find a chance to arrange a meeting with Elowen for me. Since Elowen is working so hard to stay here, I should lend her a hand,” Isabella said with a sly smile.
Olivia nodded vigorously, “Yes, you’re so kind.”
Isabella: “…”
“Elowen’s vision is limited, and her actions are sloppy. If you can find out, then Charlotte and Victoria certainly can too. Have you cleaned up?” Isabella reminded her.
“Do you still doubt my work? Everything has been taken care of. ” Olivia assured.
“Well,” Isabella nodded.
“Did you get the household register?” Olivia asked again.
“As if!” Isabella laughed sarcastically. “David said he wants to hand it to Andrew personally.”
“What price does your dad want to sell you for? Now that the buyer is Andrew, the price must be high,” Olivia said angrily.
“Let Andrew and David handle it. I get nauseous just looking at David. If I lose control and hit him, it would be hard to justify, after all, he did donate a sperm cell to me,” Isabella said helplessly, shaking her head.
Olivia pursed her lips, sympathizing with her. Anyone with a dad like David deserved sympathy. Olivia felt that even her own father, who drank too much and caused trouble when drunk, was better than David.
Isabella drove Olivia to a bus stop and dropped her off. Olivia was so mad she stomped her feet and kept banging on the car door.
“Isabella, you traitor!”
Isabella rolled down the window and said seriously, “The apartment only has Amelia and Asher, but my son is indeed quite handsome.”
With that, she stepped on the gas and the car shot off like an arrow.
Olivia: “…”
Isabella and Andrew were planning to get their marriage certificate, and Olivia had given her a few days off, which was rare.
With just a few days off, Isabella had so many things to do.
First, she needed to spend quality time with her son.
Second, she and Andrew were about to get their marriage certificate, and once that was done, the wedding preparations needed to be put on the agenda. Getting married was a major life event, and there would definitely be a lot to keep her busy.
Additionally, before getting married, she wanted to handle the Harris family affairs.
Thinking about all these tasks made her feel overwhelmed, as if she needed 48 hours in a day instead of 24.
Her time was already running short, and some people were still shamelessly intruding.
At the restaurant.
Isabella looked at Stella sitting across from her and felt that this woman was definitely here to pick a fight.
“Aunt, is there something you need from me?” Isabella elegantly picked up her coffee cup and took a gentle sip.
Aunt! Isabella’s words made Stella’s face twist in anger.
“I’m Andrew’s sister-in-law. Your way of addressing me seems inappropriate,” Stella said, lifting her chin.
“I haven’t married Andrew yet, so there’s no need to follow his family’s terms. Given your age, calling you ‘auntie’ isn’t excessive,” Isabella retorted.
Stella clenched her hands on her lap, suppressing her anger.
“Isabella, aren’t you curious about why I’m here today?”
“Curious? If I weren’t, I wouldn’t be sitting here,” Isabella crossed her arms. Though she said she was curious, her demeanor showed indifference.
Seeing Isabella’s nonchalant attitude made Stella’s anger surge uncontrollably. Stella worked hard to keep her temper in check.
As Isabella noticed Stella’s prolonged silence, she grew impatient and glanced at her watch. “Auntie, if you have something to say, please do so quickly. I’m really quite busy.”
“Busy? Busy marrying Andrew? Isabella, let me advise you: marriage is a serious matter. Think it through carefully, or you’ll regret it later,” Stella said arrogantly.
“Auntie, my affairs aren’t your concern,” Isabella said, playing with her coffee cup.
“Consider it meddling if you like,” Stella scoffed.
Isabella couldn’t help but rub her forehead. She wanted to remind this woman that her husband was critically ill and that she should be at the hospital with him instead of meddling here. Clearly, there was something wrong with her head.
Stella, seeing Isabella’s silence, spoke again slowly, “I’m also a woman, and I can’t stand seeing a young girl like you being deceived.”
Isabella looked at her with confusion.
“Isabella, let me be honest with you. Andrew doesn’t truly care about you,” Stella said.
Isabella couldn’t help but laugh, pointing to her eyes. “Auntie, you don’t need to tell me that. I have eyes, and I can see if a man is sincere.”
“At your age, how many men have you encountered? Men are the most adept at disguising their true selves,” Stella said, trying to sound profound.
Isabella thought that this aunt must have a lot of experience with men.
