Andrew took her hand and pinned her down again. “Isabella, let’s have sex more once.”
“No, Andrew,” she dodged his kisses, resisting his advances in bed.
“Speak softer; I like to hear it. But we might wake up Amelia and Asher next door,” he held her down and passionately kissed her.
After a passionate encounter, Isabella didn’t get out of bed the next day.
Andrew had a morning meeting and left for the office early. Before leaving, he reminded Amelia not to disturb Isabella’s rest.
Amelia didn’t dare disturb Isabella, but Asher didn’t listen. As soon as he got up, he crawled into his parents’ room and climbed onto the bed, calling out in a childish voice, “Mommy, wake up! Mommy, wake up!”
“Sweetie, Mommy is too tired. Let Mommy sleep a bit longer,” Isabella hugged her son, too sleepy to even lift her eyelids.
“Mommy, play on the slide with Asher. Mommy, wake up,” Asher pulled and tugged at her, finally dragging her out of bed.
She, still in her pajamas with her hair disheveled, reluctantly got out of bed wearing slippers, dragged along by Asher into the children’s room.
While Asher was playing on the slide, she sat amidst a pile of toy balls, watching him while yawning.
Watching Asher’s energetic antics, she could barely keep her eyes open. She thought to herself, “Gosh, I’ve given birth to a little whirlwind.”
Meanwhile, Andrew had just finished a meeting and was walking out of the conference room.
Ryan and Nathan followed him, with Ryan holding a document and whispering something to Andrew, who listened attentively, occasionally nodding.
He walked confidently towards his office. Just as he reached the door, his secretary nervously approached him, “Mr. Andrew, Miss Elysia has been waiting in the meeting room for over two hours.”
“Elysia? Who let her in?” he asked sternly. His tone was calm, but the underlying authority was palpable.
The secretary stammered, unable to answer. Elysia had threatened that she would be the future CEO’s wife and no one dared to offend her face-to-face. Both the security and secretary had let her in.
“Today, both the security and secretary on duty are fired,” Andrew instructed Nathan before entering his office.
As for Elysia, she was left waiting in the meeting room. She had several cups of coffee and made several trips to the restroom. She waited until noon before Andrew finally met her.
The secretary led Elysia into the CEO’s office.
Elysia was dressed in a sea-green long dress and high heels, walking with grace. Though her face wasn’t outstanding, her mature figure was quite enticing.
It was her first time in Andrew’s office. She used to be too afraid to come, fearing he might find her clingy and dislike her. But now, if she didn’t make a move and let Isabella take over, she’d have no chance at all.
Entering Andrew’s office, Elysia was almost overwhelmed. The Turner family fortune was even grander than she had imagined.
Andrew was sitting at his large desk, his eyes still on the computer in front of him. Hearing the sound of her heels on the marble floor, he didn’t look up, simply saying, “Sit.”
Elysia sat properly on the sofa in the guest area, legs crossed elegantly. She gazed at Andrew with affectionate eyes, but he didn’t even spare her a glance.
His long fingers swiftly moved across the keyboard for a while before closing the laptop. Still seated in his chair, he reached for the cigarette box and lighter on his desk, lighting up a cigarette with practiced ease.
As the smoke dispersed, Andrew looked at Elysia with indifference. “Recently, you met with Isabella?”
“Yes,” Elysia nodded, holding back tears. Since she had approached Isabella, she knew she couldn’t hide anything from Andrew. She had prepared her story in advance.
“I know about your affairs, and I’m concerned. In the past, you were a single man; no one would care how you treated me. But now you have a girlfriend, and our relationship has become the talk of the town. I’m afraid Isabella might misunderstand. So, I went to explain things to her before she left the country.”
“So, I should thank you?” Andrew flicked cigarette ash onto the crystal ashtray on the edge of the table, asking, “What did you and Isabella talk about?”
“Didn’t she tell you?” Elysia thought she had a good idea. Given Isabella’s wealthy background and early fame, and Andrew’s proud personality, their misunderstandings would only deepen.
“I told Isabella that you and my brother were comrades in arms, which is why you’ve taken care of me. If it weren’t for you, I’d still be in the countryside. I…”
Elysia’s voice choked up.
Andrew watched her as if she were performing. It was the first time he’d witnessed Elysia’s eloquence. Her arguments were so persuasive.
“Elysia, so you mean those girls from your hometown, who live their whole lives there in simple ways, are unhappy?”
“I didn’t mean that. Andrew…” Elysia tried to explain but couldn’t find the words, becoming frantic and tearful.
Unmoved, he tapped his cigarette ash and continued, “Maybe Isabella was right. I shouldn’t have taken you from your hometown, shouldn’t have forced you onto a different path.”
“Andrew, don’t say that. I’m fine now; you’ve always been good to me,” Elysia sobbed.
He frowned, showing impatience. “I took care of you out of respect for Alaric. But thinking back, I probably overstepped. Your brother sacrificed for the country, not because of me. My care for his family was out of comradeship, but I’ve done too much, and so much so that you think I owe you and your brother. From now on, take care of yourself.”
Hearing this, Elysia was suddenly shocked. Andrew’s message was clear: he wouldn’t care about her anymore.
Over the years, she had roamed freely in the entertainment circle under his protection. But once she lost that shelter, she’d be nothing.
Elysia stood up urgently, walking quickly to Andrew, grabbing his hand uncontrollably. “Andrew, did Isabella say something to you? She must be slandering me. You have to believe me. Andrew, we’ve known each other for so many years. How can you treat me like this because of that woman…”
Her words became jumbled due to her agitation.
Andrew furrowed his brows, shaking off her hand and picking up the phone on the desk.
Shortly after, his secretary walked in, politely asking Elysia to leave.
Elysia continued to linger, refusing to go, crying uncontrollably.
Andrew grew increasingly impatient.
