Isabella bit her lip hard, her tone stiff. “She said she dated you for five years. And you… you liked to… do it from behind…”
She spoke in fragments, but Andrew, being so astute, clearly understood.
He flicked his cigarette with his long fingers, smirked cynically, “Those words might fool girl inexperienced like you, but nine out of ten men prefer that position.”
His blunt words made her cheeks flush. She covered her heated face with her hand and retorted, “I believe anything you say. Andrew, do you think I’m gullible?”
“Do you believe everything she says? You’d rather believe her than me!” He raised an eyebrow, his expression growing darker.
She hesitated, unable to counter. “Then what’s your relationship with Elysia?”
“Her brother Alaric was my comrade in the Yonkers Army. Before he sacrificed himself, he asked me to look after his sister.”
“Look after her in bed?” Isabella quipped.
Andrew flicked his cigarette, chuckled lightly, “I’m not as promiscuous as you think. I’ve never been with her, believe it or not.”
“You expect me to believe that? You support her education, provide her with a lavish life, invest in her to become an actress. And now you tell me you have no relationship… Andrew, do you think I’m stupid? What about the OGG endorsement? Did you not know it was mine? You helped a woman who means nothing to you steal it from me?” She grew angrier as she spoke.
He almost forgot about the endorsement. He shook his head, laughed, and playfully poked her forehead. “Come on, my sweetheart. OGG’s past ambassadors are mostly scantily clad; As my girl, you aren’t for public entertainment.”
Isabella: “…”
She was speechless with anger and stormed out.
He dropped his cigarette, hurried after her, and hugged her from behind.
“Are you done interrogating me?” His placating tone was like soothing a child, full of resignation.
“Not yet!” She yelled angrily.
“Andrew, do you still think you’re not in the wrong? Elysia’s brother sacrificed himself for the people; the state will surely take care of the family. You’ve disrupted their peaceful life, pulled Elysia into a world that isn’t hers, indulging her ambitions. Are you some kind of savior? Who gave you the right to change someone else’s life? If you have money to spare, donate to charity; it’s more meaningful than wasting it on her.”
He seemed momentarily stunned by her words. After recovering, he chuckled, “I didn’t think that much back then.”
“And now?” she asked.
“Now, whatever you decide.” He smiled, taking her hand. “Marry me, or come home with me. Your choice.”
“Let’s go home,” she hesitated before saying. She had been out in the cold for so long; she felt like she’d turn into an ice pop if she stayed out any longer.
He wrapped his arms around her, pressed the button on the car key, and a black Porsche parked on the side of the road beeped and its headlights flashed.
“When did you park your car here?” she asked, surprised.
“After Nathan dropped Olivia off, he came over. He knew better than to disturb us and left his car,” he replied.
“Why do you have the keys?” she asked again.
“There are two sets of car keys, and this one has always been with me,” he said, taking her hand and leading her to the car.
He drove her back to the apartment, and it was already 11 pm.
The apartment was quiet; Amelia and Asher had already gone to bed.
Isabella kicked off her shoes and headed upstairs, going straight into the bathroom to shower.
After her shower, wrapped in a towel, she came out to find Andrew sitting on the bed, smoking. His short hair was damp; he must have showered downstairs.
“You must be tired. Go to bed early,” he said.
She glared at him, this scheming man. She finally understood why he brought her back to the apartment instead of going to the seaside villa.
The villa had more rooms, and she would definitely insist on separate rooms. But the apartment was limited in size, with only a few bedrooms.
There used to be a guest room, which had recently been turned into Asher’s little playground with a swing, slide, and toys after the bed was moved out.
She approached the bed, looking at him with narrowed eyes, and asked, “Tonight, I’ll sleep on the bed, and you sleep on the floor.”
Her tone left no room for negotiation. Andrew, resignedly, laid out the blanket on the floor and lay down, hugging a pillow.
Isabella took up the entire two-meter bed by herself and turned off the bedside lamp.
She had been through a lot today and was exhausted. Besides, she had had quite a bit to drink, and now feeling the effects of the alcohol, she felt dizzy and fell asleep as soon as her head touched the pillow.
In the middle of the night, the man who should have been sleeping on the floor suddenly wrapped himself around her, his heavy body making it hard for her to breathe.
“Tired, Andrew, stop it,” she struggled under him, clearly displeased.
He, shirtless, sat leaning against the bedhead, casually stroking her soft hair.
“Did I hurt you?” he asked gently. She had been struggling, and Andrew was afraid of hurting her, so he had only tried to fuck her once and didn’t dare to try again.
She turned her head away, not wanting to discuss the topic.
He couldn’t help but chuckle, reaching out to half-embrace her again, pulling her close and giving her a firm kiss on her lips.
“Be good and stop sulking, okay? While it’s cute to see you jealous, disputes and cold wars will wear our relationship thin. The Turner family is complicated; if we don’t trust each other and keep fighting, how can we face challenges together?”
“I’m not interested in a cold war with you,” she flipped over, freeing herself from his embrace and lying on his side.
Andrew wrapped his arms around her, “Isabella, no matter what happens in the future, you and Asher will always be the most important to me.”
His fingers gently weaved through her hair, lips touching her ear, “As for Elysia, she used to be the sister of my comrade. In the future, we have no relationship.”
After hearing his words, Isabella turned to look at him, “Really?”
“Yes,” Andrew nodded with a smile.
Then, Isabella extended her pinky, signaling for a pinky promise.
This childish gesture left Andrew both amused and touched. He obediently extended his right pinky, hooking it with hers.
She held onto his little finger, looking serious, “You have to promise not to lie to me anymore, not to hide anything from me, and certainly not to bully me.”
After saying this, they hooked their pinkies and sealed the promise.
“Alright, I promise never to lie or hide anything from you again. But occasionally, I might still tease you,” he lowered his head and gave her a light peck on the lips.
“Jerk!” she swung her fist, lightly hitting his chest.
