“Mom.” Andrew greeted Mrs. Hannah politely and indifferently, his stern gaze briefly sweeping over the others. He calmly asked, “Are there guests at home?”
At this moment, Mrs. Ada was probably too excited and even forgot to introduce herself. In her eyes, Andrew was an untouchable figure.
Charlotte still dared to think she could become Andrew Turner’s mother-in-law. Mrs. Ada hadn’t even dared to consider that.
“Uncle’s always busy, isn’t he back for a reason?” Henry spoke, with his usual mocking tone.
“He indeed has more to do than you,” Andrew’s calm voice was sharp in words. Clearly, Henry didn’t get a good response and sensibly closed his mouth.
Mrs. Hannah couldn’t help but furrow her brow, asking, “Any reason for coming back?”
As she spoke, she subconsciously glanced at Isabella. Mrs. Hannah, having lived to this age, had become very shrewd. She didn’t believe Andrew just happened to be back.
Andrew hadn’t been home for a few months, but the moment Isabella came home, he returned. He was really watchful of her.
“Back to retrieve some documents,” Andrew said and gestured to Nathan, following him upstairs.
Afterward, a servant came in, walked to Mrs. Hannah, and respectfully said, “Mrs. Hannah, the dining room is ready.”
“Then let’s eat first and talk later,” Mrs. Hannah smiled warmly at Mrs. Ada and Aria.
Mrs. Ada nodded in agreement, holding Aria’s hand, eager to enter the dining room.
However, Isabella slowly stood up, already holding her bag.
“Sorry, Mrs. Hannah, I still have to rush to the announcement, so I won’t stay for dinner.”
She barely finished speaking before Mrs. Hannah could respond; Mrs. Ada interrupted her, giving her an angry look, “Aren’t you supposed to have a day off today?”
Isabella was leaving when everyone else was here. So, was she and Aria leaving or staying? Really creating trouble out of nothing.
Mrs. Ada’s words slightly annoyed Isabella. Everyone present wasn’t stupid; they could all tell she was just making up an excuse without saying it directly.
“An unexpected work commitment,” Isabella calmly continued to lie.
“Well, if you has something to do, I won’t keep you either,” Mrs. Hannah said coldly.
Isabella was about to leave but was stopped by Henry.
“Our house doesn’t have taxis waiting outside. How about I give you a lift?” Henry had a wry smile on his face.
Isabella subtly distanced herself from him, thinking, “This guy is definitely up to something. He probably deserves a beating again.”
“No need to trouble yourself. I have a ride-hailing app on my phone. But, I’d appreciate it if you could help my grandmother and cousin. They’re not familiar with the roads in Ithaca town. It would be a favor to take them home after dinner.”
Isabella’s words satisfied Mrs. Ada. She was just worried she wouldn’t find an opportunity for Aria to get close to Henry.
“Isabella, If you doesn’t mind, I can take you on the way,” Andrew’s voice suddenly spoke up, without sounding abrupt. He had a cigarette between his two fingers on his left hand, showing no emotions in his expression, even sounding a bit casual.
All the other people in the room turned their gaze to him, each with a different expression. Andrew stood there, like a proud and tall pine, yet exuded a hint of laziness.
“If that’s okay with you, thank you,” Isabella said calmly, almost laughing inwardly.
The Turner family villa was in the south of the city, and she needed to go to the north. It was indeed… on the way.
“I’ll wait outside for you.” she walked out of the villa, carrying her bag.
Soon after, Nathan came downstairs, holding an extra set of documents, respectfully handing them to Andrew.
Andrew casually flipped through them, holding them in his right hand. “Grandmother, I’ll be busy for a while.”
“Okay,” Mrs. Hannah responded calmly.
Andrew left with Nathan.
Outside the villa stood his conspicuous Maybach. A petite figure stood by the car door, slightly lowering her head. Perhaps getting a bit impatient, her high heels were tapping on the ground.
Hearing footsteps, she subconsciously looked up and saw Andrew walking towards her, with a charming smile.
“Uncle, can we go now?” She deliberately elongated her tone, her voice mixed with a hint of playfulness and teasing.
Given her age and generation, calling him “Uncle” wasn’t entirely inaccurate.
Andrew, with a subtle glint in his deep gaze, walked over to the car, casually wrapping his arm around her slender waist. With a bit of force, he pulled her into his embrace.
“Andrew, stop it.” Isabella instinctively struggled. He was becoming bolder, especially at the Turner family’s doorstep. His open embrace seemed like he wanted everyone to know.
With one arm around her waist, he opened the car door and directly pushed her inside.
As she fell onto the back seat and before she could react, his heavy body was already pressing her down. One hand pressed against the back of her head, while the other lifted her delicate chin, his slightly rough fingertips repeatedly brushing against her rosy, soft lips, with a gentle yet compelling force, carrying a hint of allure.
His deep blue eyes gazed intensely at her, the heat in them scorching.
“Andrew,” she softly called out to him.
“Not calling me ‘uncle’ anymore?” Andrew smirked, with a playful tone in his smile.
Isabella’s arms softened as they wrapped around his neck, giggling obediently as she called out, “Uncle…”
Before she could finish, his kiss had already descended upon her.
Outside the car, assistant Nathan stood awkwardly not far away, looking away.
He knew better than to pry into things he shouldn’t see or hear, much more so than Ryan.
He stood outside the car, dazed, until he heard a slight tap on the car window behind him, prompting him to turn around.
One side of the car window had been lowered, and everything seemed normal.
Nathan hurried over and opened the driver’s door. Then, he started the car’s engine.
The car started moving slowly. Isabella leaned against Andrew’s warm chest, slightly catching her breath. Somewhat annoyed, she reached out and pinched his waist.
Andrew chuckled softly, catching her restless hand and bringing it close to his lips, giving it a gentle kiss.
“Head to the seaside villa,” Andrew instructed.
Nathan stepped on the gas, and the car sped along the coastal road.
The black Maybach entered the courtyard and stopped steadily in front of the villa. Andrew held Isabella’s hand and walked into the villa together.
As soon as the door closed, he couldn’t wait and pressed her against the door panel.
