Jayden
I stood up, adjusting my clothes, and made my way to the door. I opened it to find my stepmom, Elizabeth, standing in the hallway with a concerned expression.
“Hey, have you seen Allison?” she asked, glancing past me into my room. “I’ve been trying to knock, but she’s not responding. I wondered if she went out without telling me.”
“She’s in my room,” I replied, trying to sound nonchalant.
Elizabeth’s eyes widened in surprise. “What? Why is she in your room?”
I heard Allison whisper coldly behind me, “Jayden, are you crazy?”
“She’s reading a manga,” I explained to Elizabeth, who still looked confused.
I heard Allison whisper again, “Fuck you, Jayden,” followed by the sound of her rummaging through my shelf. She was improvising, trying to cover for herself.
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. “Manga?” she repeated, walking into the room to get a closer look.
We both turned to see Allison sitting on the edge of my bed, holding a manga and trying to appear nonchalant.
“Allison, what are you doing in Jayden’s room?” Elizabeth asked, her voice tinged with suspicion.
Allison looked up, an innocent expression on her face.
“Just reading some manga, mom.”
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. “Manga, huh?” she repeated, eyeing Allison skeptically.
Allison nodded, forcing a small smile while giving me a quick, stony glare. I thought I’d just saved her, but apparently, she wasn’t grateful.
Liz folded her arms, her expression skeptical. “Allison, you don’t even read mangas. When did you start this new hobby?”
Allison shrugged, a hint of a smile on her face. “Jayden has been sending me PDFs and giving me comics. I’ve been checking them out, and it’s actually pretty nice.”
Liz raised an eyebrow, her voice tinged with amusement. “Really? Well, I think you should take the mangas to your room.”
“Jayden wouldn’t let me,” she groaned, rolling her eyes. “He told me to read it here because he doesn’t trust me with his precious mangas.”
I jumped in, improvising a lie. “Yeah, she actually misplaced two of my mangas and poured hot coffee on one. I’m starting to think she’s doing it on purpose.”
Liz chuckled, seemingly buying the excuse. “Okay, understood. Read that manga quickly and go back to your room. I’ll come check up on you later.”
Allison rolled her eyes, a hint of annoyance in her voice. “I’m not a little kid, mom. You don’t have to check up on me. You should check up on Sally instead.”
Liz sighed and left, closing the door behind her. As soon as she was gone, I shut the door and turned to Allison, who gave me a sly smile.
“Wow, you’re really good at lying, aren’t you?” I teased, grinning at her.
Allison chuckled. “Well, you started it first.”
I laughed, impressed. “And you kinda improvised.”
“Jayden, you’re such a pain in the ass.”
I smirked, gazing at her. “What do you mean? I clearly saved YOUR ass.”
She raised an eyebrow. “My ass? You were the one that brought me here in the first place!”
“Yeah, sure, I did,” I smirked, gazing at her, my eyes locked on hers.
I locked the latch, and saw Allison’s eyes dart around the room, a hint of nervousness flickering in their depths. She shifted slightly, her cheeks flushing with anticipation.
I walked towards her, my movements deliberate and slow, my eyes never leaving hers.
Getting up to her, I placed my hands on either side of her, my fingers curling around the edge of the bed as I leaned in. Allison’s eyes met mine, her pupils dilating as our faces drew closer.
Without a word, I captured her lower lip in a gentle yet insistent kiss. Allison’s lips parted, and I deepened the kiss, my tongue tangling with hers in a slow, sensual dance.
The kiss was like a spark, igniting a fire that spread through our bodies. Alison’s hands rose, her fingers threading through my hair as she pulled me closer. Our lips moved in perfect sync, the pressure building as we devoured each other.
But all too soon, Allison broke away, her chest heaving as she gasped for air. “I think this is when I need to leave,” she whispered, her eyes still locked on mine. “Mom said she’s going to check up on me.”
I smiled, my lips still tingling from the kiss. “You’re not a kid,” I reminded her, my voice low and husky. “So stay, baby.”
Allison’s body relaxed, her shoulders sagging as she let out a soft sigh. She leaned back on the bed, her eyes never leaving mine.
As we kissed, I hovered above her, my hands exploring her body. But just as I parted her thighs open, she broke the kiss and pushed me away. I fell to the floor, surprised.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, looking up at her.
Allison’s expression was frantic. “I forgot to tell you something.”
My curiosity piqued, I sat up. “What is it?”
She took a deep breath. “Colby knows about us.”
My eyes narrowed. “You told him?” I whispered, my voice barely audible.
Allison shook her head. “No, he caught us.”
I raised an eyebrow. “How?”
“He saw us kissing in your room, through the window,” she replied, letting out a deep sigh.
I burst out laughing, but Allison’s expression remained serious.
“It’s not funny, Jayden,” she said, her voice stern. “He found out about us, and you’re laughing.”
I sobered up, my eyes locking onto hers. “He knows, Allison. Colby knows about us already.”
Her eyes widened in surprise. “Excuse me?”
